Be Inspired by the Lyrics!

Have you ever been moved by the words of a song?  Some of my most favourite layouts that I've made are the ones  that were inspired by a song.  Maybe music that was playing during the time you took the photos in your layout.  Or a song that comes to mind when you look at the photo you are scrapping.  Music and lyrics can be a wonderful inspiration for a scrapbook page or scrapping project.  Here are some examples of work inspired by lyrics done by our design team girls!

 "Under Your Love Spell"
by Tara Orr
Tara said that as soon as she saw the chipboard piece (title chipboard used in this l/o) she had the song 'Under Your Spell' by Candi (a Canadian artist from the '90's) looping through her head, and found herself singing it over and over as she was working on her layout.
Supplies:
Chipboard: Smoochable
Noteworthy: Smoochable
Patterned Paper: Smoochable, Huggable/Smoochable; Symphony, Et Cetera/Et Cetera
Filgree Die Cut: Et Cetera
Double Dot: Passion Fruit Vintage

"Happy Birthday 2U Card"
by Samantha Wright
Samantha had the simply lyrics of the birthday song going in her mind when she created this cute and playful card...
Supplies:
6x6 paper pad: Ad Lib
Chipboard: Ad lib 12" and Ad Lib Layered Chipboard
Stickers: Ad Lib Party On! CS stickers, Ad Lib Dimensional Stickers

"Oh Happy Day"
by Robbie Herring
Robbie created this sweet page using the song title 'Oh Happy Day' using the new Alora collection!

Patterned Paper: Alora Dimples, Alora Cut Outs
Chipboard: Alora 12x12
Stickers: Alora Dimensional, Alora Combo and On the Go Combo
Brads: Alora
Double Dot Paper: Kiwi Dot, Ocean Dot and Shadow Dot
Double Dot Ribbon: Aqua Marine

Is there a song that you've been meaning to scrap?  Do you have a photo that when you look at it a song pops into your head?  Why not scrap the lyrics or song title when you create your page with that photo!   I was scrapping a few days ago and while I was working on my layout, my youngest daughter was showing me the Colby Cailett video for 'Brighter Than the Sun", I found my layout became sunny and happy just like the song, so I titled my layout like the song and added a few of the lyrics to the page! (You'll have to wait a few days to see this one as it was actually intended for another upcoming blogpost here :)   Tell us what song moves you, what words you'd like to scrap, we'd love to hear it!

Check out how each designer used a different technique to "edge" the main background layer on the card.
First up is this gorgeous card by Gabrielle using Bo Bunny's new Country Garden collection.
