Fun with Paper Ruffles!

Today we thought we would have some fun using paper ruffles to dress-up our scrapbook pages and cards!  Our design team girls used a variety of methods on their projects, from punched lace ruffles, clean pleated ruffles to water treated paper ruffles.  Check out their projects!

Sarah added a roughly pleated paper border to underscore her sweet title for this beautiful scrap page!  I like the way she covered the ends with buttons and paper punched designs!

"Brighter Than the Sun"
by Gabrielle Pollacco
As I was working on this page my youngest daughter was playing the video/song 'Brighter Than the Sun' by Colby Caillat for me....I found myself choosing the bright and cheerful papers and embellishments in the new Country Garden Collection for my page!  I ended up using the song title and lyrics for the page :)

Designer Tip:  I created my ruffle by first punching a long strip of plain white paper (using a lightweight paper for this works nicely because you can ruffle it easily).  I lightly misted the paper (this makes it easier to crinkle/pleat) .....when it's dry it's very easy to glue it under rounded and wavey paper edges. (See below)
Supplies:
~Patterned Paper: Country Garden (Morning Sunrise, Stripe, Almanac)
~Stickers: Country Garden 12" Sticker Sheet
~Rub-on: Country Garden
~Stamps: Country Garden (Flourish on paper and on Chipboard frame)
~Noteworthy: Country Garden
~Brads: Country Garden
~Trinkets: Country Garden
~Jewels: Country Garden

"Secret Garden"

Debbie added another element of design to her paper ruffle by adding some ink to the edges of her ruffled paper.  Isn't her page beautiful?  I love her clear stamped butterflies too! (these stamps coordinate with the Country Garden Collection)

Country Garden Almanac, Seeds
Country Garden Noteworthy
Country Garden Jewels
Country Garden stamps
Country Garden 6x6 paper pad

Have you ever tried using a paper ruffle on your pages?  Is there a trick you like to use with them (special punch? adhesive? type of paper?)  Tell us what you think of using paper borders and ruffles, we love to hear what you are thinking!

Card Challenge Tuesday

Happy Valentines Day Bo Bunny Fans and welcome to Card Challenge Tuesday! Today we have a fun sketch to share with you designed by Anna Widmark, a friend of design team member Mahlin Wiggur.  We have a little something extra to add to today's challenge. Besides following along with the sketch we also want you to use a "love" theme on your card.  Let's see how some of the Bo Bunny designers interpreted the sketch and theme for today's card challenge.

First up Tomoko used the super cute Alora collection to create a sweet card that could be used at any time to let any one know that you care and are thinking about them.  For her sentiment, she used the rub-ons from the Alora Card Kit and then traced around them with a marker.
