Field Trip Friday

It's time for another Field Trip Friday!  Working outside of your comfort zone can be a bit tough, but also very rewarding.  It can be hard to try to move away from what 'you always do'.  I have to admit that this is a tough assignment for some of us.  What is wonderful about it is that it helps to grow and get better and try new things.

I came up with some ideas{things I did! :)} to help spark your imagination and take a step away from doing what you always do.

1. Surf around the internet and pay attention to the details of pages that appeal to you, but that you tend to shy away from when working on your own things.  Break it down.  Is it placement?  Colors?  Maybe it's a picture or a topic that you don't normally document.  Give it a try.
2.  If you have always wanted to try something, take a look at you tube.  There are so many designers that share their ideas and tutorials.
3.  Is there a collection that you love but you don't want to purchase because "I would have no idea what to do with that"?  Did you know that this blog has a search engine that you can search the blog?  Type it in and take time to break down your favorite projects that have been done with that specific collection.
4.  Take a walk around your house.  Do you have something that isn't quite the right color or have the right look that you are looking for, but has good bones?  Why not try covering it with paper or embellishments?

Here is what Irene and I came up with for today's Field Trip.

Altered Doll House Stove
Irene Tan

Irene says that she has always wanted to alter doll house furniture and hasn't so she decided to give it a try.  It turned out fabulous and I bet we'll be seeing more!  I love that Irene stepped out of her comfort zone, but still did so many of the wonderful detailing that she adds to all of her projects!

My Field Trip was all about design.  I really admire the designers that are able to make negative space layouts.  I tend to want to fill in all the spaces. I didn't leave it as negative as I had planned, but it was still outside of my normal look. I also decided to try a design that wasn't centered.  Most of my pages begin with picture placement in the center of the page or close to it, so I decided to start with my picture placed in an unusual, for me, position.

Focus on Noteworthy!

For today's post we are focusing on our Noteworthy.  The Noteworthy is so useful I always find myself reaching for it and having a look through it each time I do a layout.  Noteworthy can be used for many things from journaling blocks, to layering, to accents so lets see what our two designers Tara and Jolanda have used them for today!

First up we have Tara with her beautiful layout using Serenity and she has used quite a few pieces of Noteworthy!

Designer Showcase: GABRIELLE POLLACCO

Hi everyone!  It's me, Gabrielle!  And I'm so honored to be today's pick for the Designer Showcase!  I've been on the Bo Bunny design team for many years now, and I have to say it's been such a delight to be among such a talented group of ladies. People sometimes wonder, what is it like to be on this team?  Take it from me, this is one of the warmest most supportive teams I've ever been on!  The girls here are all so complimentary and encouraging of each other, it's really a happy place to be!  And who wouldn't love working with all these gorgeous products every month, right?!!
I just love everything Bo Bunny puts out, but for me, my heart beat a little faster when I saw the NEW Little Miss Collection!  The vintage designs and the beautiful colors had me at a glance and of course with 2 girls to scrap this collection just calls out to me!!  I used a variety of "Little Miss" collection goodies for the above page I made of my two girls taken a few years ago.
Supplies:
Patterned Papers: Little Miss (Jaquoya front & reverse side, Maree, Alice)
6x6 Paper Pad: Little Miss
Brads: Little Miss
Jewels: Little Miss
Chipboard: Little Miss
Combo Stickers: Little Miss
Here are a few close-ups of my page......
I have this weakness for bird cage motifs and you find them all over this collection!  For the above page I cut out the bird cages from the 'Maree' paper and used it as an embellishment for my page, adhering it with pop-dots.
The blooms were handmade by me from scraps of fabric (simple gather), crepe paper streamers (I added a little pink chalk-ink in the centers) and some Bo Bunny Jewels.
What are some of my favourites from the Bo Bunny collections?  For me it has to be the Trinkets and the Brads....check out the brads in the pic above, Bo Bunny really takes them to new heights, don't they!  And I'm so thrilled that they have now come out with coordinating blooms for each of the collections!!
Since this is my day to share a little something about myself, I thought I would give you all a little sneak peek at my craftroom.  I'm planning to do a tour of my scraproom in a few weeks time but I thought I would give you all tiny glimpse of my scrap space today!  I recently got rid of an old toy closet and some broken shelving I had in my scraproom and put in a nice big shelf system with lots of nooks to store my scrap goodies.  Here is a quick snap I took of what I've got done so far.  ....You'll have to come visit my blog in a few weeks time when I reveal my whole scraproom!
I hope you enjoyed my little 'share' about me and the things I love today....Here's my question for you!  What is your favourite Bo Bunny Collection....Ambrosia? Hello Sunshine? Campalot? Country Garden?  I'd love to hear what you love!
