Gabi says: "Do you ever do a project and at the end feel like you really enjoyed it?
This is one of those projects! I just thoroughly enjoyed working with the new
Bo Bunny blooms and I loved the colors as well."
Designer Tip: "Choosing a limited or monochromatic color base helps make a layout look more cohesive and 'put together'. Here I chose a couple of the patterned papers from the Apple Cider collection that had the soft greens/yellows in them and added in a piece of Double dot paper in a neutral tone (Almond Dot). Then I chose my floral embellishments in the same shades (greens/butter yellows). I find this also helps me when choosing what embellishments to use on a page.
Another little tip: Here I used a word stamp 'Cherish' ...stamped it to the page and then
used a coordinating color of DMC floss to stitch in the letters, following the stamped image...
this helps give the page a more 'homespun' look."

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Apple Cider (Afternoon, Apple Cider), Et Cetera (Symphony)
Cardstock: Double Dot; Almond Dot, Clover Dot
Blossoms: Dahlia (Clover, Buttercup), Daisy (Buttercup)
Lace: Clover Lace
Stickers: Apple Cider Combo Stickers
Jewels: Serenade
Stamps: Midnight Frost

Sigh!!!  I'm so in love with these blossoms and lace and can't wait
for each of you to hold them in your hands!  You'll be giddy like me.
Thanks for hanging out!!

Distressing, sanding & punching, oh my!!!!

Can I just say how excited I am about today's post!
I love, love, love to shabby things up...
In fact, sometimes I forget to stop and go a lil overboard.

I think you are going to love the layouts and love the tips the girls
are giving us. They really are the best!!

Take a second look at this layout and don't be intimidated,
take it step by step and you'll be amazed what you can do!
Designer Tip: "There are several distressing techniques used on this layout.
Besides the usual edge distressing using a paper distresser, I've also used a
technique which I've started a very long time ago called "Extreme Punching to Distress" technique. This is a very easy and fun technique. Simply just use a hole
puncher and randomly punch on the edges or corners of your papers.
To make it more interesting, try using a hole puncher which can punch different
sizes of holes or try tearing away part of the punched area.
Later, ink the area with some distress ink to make it look more realistic."
Stitching is also a way to add dimension and shabbiness to a project.
And don't stress is your stitches are not straight or you go off the edge.  Sometimes
it's even fun to sand across your stitching so it breaks and the little ends fray.
Remember: There are no mistakes in scrapbooking... we just add character!!!!
See how in the photos above and below there are 'tears' in the paper?
Sometimes those are a happy accident, and sometimes, we do it on
purpose.  Either way... it's such a fun technique.

Paint is such and easy and fun way to add distressing to a layout.
Just dunk a toothbrush or stiffish paint brush in water.
Swish it around in a glob of paint, then while aiming at your project,
run across the bristles with your thumb. Voila' Instant splatter.
This will also work with an ink pad, your splatter will just be much lighter and finer.
Don't be afraid to distress the edge of your layout with both ink and an edge distresser,
or sand and ink.  Double distressing makes for extra character.
I love how Luz's brads make a splatter trail that matches the paint splatter...
it adds continuity to the layout.
