Field Trip Friday

Hey friends!  Happy Friday & for those in the US,
Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Today Tara Orr has made an amazing card with some fun techniques on it.

Tara said, "For this assignment I decided to do a card - which I have done more of lately, but my true comfort zone is still 12x12 layouts, In addition, I decided to do a masculine card vs. the very romantic, frilly and feminine cards that I normally create."

I'm here to say... rather Tara is in her comfort zone or not, she ooolways
ROCKS it out of the park!!!

Route 66
Tara Orr
I love that Tara used the Vintage Dot as the base of her card.
Do you know how many Vintage Dot colors we carry??
20. Yup. 20.
That means there is sure to be one that will match whatever project you're working on.

So.... I asked Tara if the stamp border was a border punch?
She said, "no, not a stamp punch. Just used my mini circle punch from Stampin' Up! and stamped with half of it all around the edge to create that postage stamp look..."

How cool is that? And sooo perfect with the Detour collection.
Bo Bunny Supplies:
Dimensional Stickers: Detour
Rub Ons: Detour
Patterned Paper: Quote, Stripe, Arrow, Destination/Detour
Cardstock: Vintage Chiffron

And just so I'm not alone, for those of you who know it...
I'm going out singing Nat King Cole's

Now it can be stuck in your head too!!
Have a good weekend!

"The gift box was originally meant to be a wine box. I covered it with patterned paper and added a ruffle edge to the lid to give it a back to school/teacher feel. I then filled it with goodies for my sister, who is a teacher, with things such as Post It notes and her favorite pens for grading papers."

Fun Technique

Funny thing...  I tried calling in sick today with the "monochromatic"
but they called me on my bluff and told me to define "monochromatic."

Monochromatic - having tones of one color in addition to the ground hue.

Good thing I love my job, and good thing playing with a monochromatic
theme on our scrapbook projects can be so much fun!

Designer Tip: "Cut pieces of pattern paper into strips of various widths and
positions the strips in random order.
In this way, I received an interesting background for pictures of my cat."
