Stamping your own background

Hi there!

Kristen here with a stamping technique for you.

Have you ever sorted and resorted through your patterned papers, without finding just the right one for the layout you are planning? I do this sometimes.

How about making your own customized patterned paper with stamps.

With a few clear Bobunny stamps, some white cardstock, and assorted ink colors, I created my own with just the right look for my photos.

First I used a flower stamp from the Jazmyne Clearly Stamp set. I inked with a lavender ink, and started across my paper in a diagonal direction, making sure to stamp partially across my edges. Use a scrap piece of paper to keep your workspace clean.

After cleaning the stamp, I used a lime green stamp next, and continued switching colors until my paper was filled.

Next I inked a small stamp from the Sophie Clearly Stamp set, inked it with a pink dye ink and stamped between flowers in a varied pattern. This is where you stamp as much or as little as you think looks good.

Then I trimmed my paper into the sizes I wanted it, and used it on my layout.

For the embellishments, I stamped a few extra flowers with the ink colors, and fussy cut them out, popdotting the purple flower between the two parts of the stamp.

I added gems to the centers of my flowers to finish them.

Try your own patterned paper with stamps the next time you sit down to create and see what fun new looks you can come up with.

Bobunny supplies: Jazmyne Clearly Stamp set, Sophie Clearly Stamp set, Jazmyne iCandy Brads, Jazmyne iCandy Jewels, Double Dot cardstock - Kiwi and Raspberry.

  10. Nice color combo! FYI, for a more "random" look to your stamping, you can stamp your image 3 times in a triangle pattern, then keep adding images making more "triangles". You can do this with multiple images, multiple colors, etc.
