Not Just Altered Art

Happy Friday all!!! Today the Bo Bunny design team has some fabulous altered projects to share with you. From frames to glass jars, you are sure to find some inspiring ideas for your next craft or scrapbook project. We know that not everyone is into altering projects, but we have a challenge for you today. Try to take a look at these projects and see if you can use any of the ideas or techniques you see and incorporate them into your next card or layout. Now how is that for a little challenge?!

First up we have a simple wooden frame that was altered using the Midnight Frost collection. Mireille used stickles and liquid pearls to add a little "extra" pizzaz. To give the clear alphas a snowy/wintry feels she randomly placed dots of glossy accents and then dipped them in white flocking. She used a stamp to add a fun element to her photo by stamping directly on the photo. Using a permanent ink will work best with this technique. She also incorporated her fabulous "faux" stitching to add a bit of a homespun feel. As you can see, any of these techniques can be easily added to a card or scrapbook page. Don't you think?!

Next up we have another frame, however Samantha altered it and turned it into a fun calendar. This takes a rather boring object (the calendar) and turns it into something that can be enjoyable to look at all year long. Don't you think this would make a fabulous gift to a grandparent? A fun tip Samantha shared with us is that she felt like her photo was covering too much of the pattern on the left of the frame so she cut around the elements on the patterned page and slipped the corner of the photo underneath them. This technique could very easily be incorporated into a scrapbook page! Also, check out the cute little ribbon she attached to her flower using a brad.

This next project does NOT require you to eat all the chocolate first, but that is exactly what Jolanda said she did before she created this lovely altered treat box. This was a simple, plastic container that once re-decorated and filled with candy became a gorgeous gift. Wouldn't this make the perfect gift for that someone special in your life?! Now let's look at a fun technique Jolanda shared with us. She created a punched border strip, layered it with a length of ribbon and then added a gorgeous handmade flower. This is a great technique that could easily provide that perfect touch to your next card or layout.

Finally we have a project that Sarah created using simple glass canning jars. By adding a combination of Crazy Love and Love Bandits products she turned them into adorable Valentine's Day treat containers. A good reminder she shared with us is that it really is OK to combine older papers with new collections. By doing this, you can create a fresh, new look. This is definitely something to remember when going through your stash to create your next project.
