  2. I'm still posting for my friend Iris who found her breast cancer in a self exam and after two years of chemo and many resulting problems is still with us and going strong (go Iris!). I would love to win the purse for her. Thank you Bo Bunny for doing this!

  3. I just had my mammogram, the technician was very good this time, and "the squish" barely hurt. My cousin has both breast cancer and MS, so I know how much breast cancer can affect a family, and I am very glad to see that people are no longer hesitant to say "breast."

  4. My appointment is tomorrow. In Canada, we have a programm (not sure for this word), and every other year, I receive a letter and all I have to do is call to have an appointment for my mammography.

  5. I remember during our power outage in 2004 after Hurricane Ivan I discovered a breast lump. It was horrible and I had to wait until electric was restored through out our city to finally get to my doctor and a mamogram. It was a nightnmare; but turned out to be fatty tuissue. THANK GOD! I've always done monthly self exams and have a mamo yearly. Save the ta-tas!!!!!

  6. I lost a great friend to breast cancer. She fought a hard long battle. Also, it was just one year ago that I lost another good friend to cancer. He had stage 4 brain tumor and only survived for one year. Early detection is the best. I get my mammogram every year and this year I had to get a second one. Luckily, it was okay but I still have to have another one in 6 months to be sure. Awareness is so important. Love the cute bag. Thanks for the chance to win one.

  9. Everyone I know who has had breast cancer had it caught early and thankfully survived. A close family member is going through testing right now after something was found in her mammogram. Without the testing she would not have known.

  10. I have one done once a year and an MRI for it once a year. Since my mom had it I can't be too cautious!! I also get it checked by a specialist every 6 months.

  11. I have survived breast cancer twice! Both times it was detected on a mammogram!!! Early detection is key!

  12. I've had my mammogram done for the year. I have lost so many people to cancer have watched them battle with courage and my heart goes out to anyone fighting breast cancer, well cancer period. You are in my prayers! Keep the faith!

  13. Had my mammogram done in August ~ all clear! Last year I had a little scare and had to have a second test done. Thankfully, it was all fine but I so encourage early detection. I have a friend who is more than 10 years past her diagnosis of breast cancer. Early detection was the key to her being a brave survivor!!!

  20. Wow first time I got mine squished they found a lump. Had a lumpectomy done and it turned out to be a fibrous tumor seems my body loves to make those. Have been squished every year since then. All have been OK but I was sweating bullets the first time.

  24. I have lost a grandmother, an aunt and a cousin to breast cancer. Lives cut short and sadness left here make me aware that I need to check and be aware of my own body. My son and his football team just volunteered at the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure this last weekend and it was awesome to see.

  26. Breast cancer has touched me in several ways...my mom passed away from it 3 years ago last month (since my step father stopped talking to me 2 years ago on the anniversary), we didn't know she had it. Because of that I had my squish earlier than my doctor would have done. I also have a friend that was diagnosed and treated..so far she has been cancer free since my birthday in July for 2 years!

  27. So glad it was found early Brenda. All the best !!!!!!

  29. Many years ago one of my children's teachers was diagnosed with a form of breast cancer that cannot be detected with a mammogram. She became a part of our family and unfortunately lost the battle a few years back. I have told so many women about her and her battle. It is not just about mammograms ladies. It is about knowing your body and what "feels' wrong. I think of her often and pray that by telling just one woman about her struggle and how it was diagnosed that one woman can live a full life. We are all mothers, daughters, friends, and we all know someone who needs a little nudge to have the strenghth to follow up and be cared for.

  30. I've not had a mammogram yet but this year will be my first time! I know several women who have battled this disease and thankfully they have caught it early in all cases and it was very treatable. We don't have any cases of breast cancer in my family but there are other forms of cancer. It really is important to have regular exams, we want our loved ones around as long as possible!

  31. i found a lump in my breast 7 weeks ago, they send me to the hospital where I had all all kinds of tests, turned out the lump wasn't the scary thing but they found another thing I didn't feel.... I got diagnosed with breastcancer... now I got my lympnode operation check, they are okee, 4 weeks ago they removed my breast and I just got my first chemo after a portacath operation yesterday...not a nice story but I wanted to share to let you all know how important it is to check check check...overhere in the Netherlands it's 1 out of 8 woman who gets breastcancer...I never ever thought it would be me, so beware and check check!!! I have a long road ahead but I am so going for it, so much to live for and so much love surrounded me from my friends and family...life isn't fun at the moment but I sure try to make it as nice as I can!

  32. i go every year for mammogram -- early detection is the key. My mom is a survivor! She was diagnosed in January 2011. Would love to win the pink purse for her.

  33. Early diagnosis works. After my aunt was diagnosed, mom went in and they found she had breast cancer. After a double masectomy, she survived another 20 years. Annual mamograms work.

  34. I have mine done every spring.

  35. I have an appointment made for my exam. They sent me a letter to confirm and I just looked at the day date not the month. So yesterday I showed up for my appointment a month early. How embarrassing! They were sweet though and offered to work me in.

  47. You have to take care of yourself to take care of others. Something I constantly have to remind myself being a mother. With having co-workers, close friends, and relatives all having breast cancer and surviving early awareness really is important!
