Fall is finally here... at least in my neck of the woods. Leaves are starting to change colors and the temperatures are gradually dropping. This is one of my favorite seasons. Well.... like most Bo Bunny products they are all my favorites for different reasons. It's the same with Double Dot cardstock. In my opinion....this stuff is the unsung hero of all the Bo Bunny product lines. There's a lot of different types of cardstock out there for a scrapbooker to choose from and I've personally worked with most of them. I can honestly say that even if I didn't create for Bo Bunny I would still be singing it's praises! What's not to love about it? The many different colors available, the texture, the small dots on one side and a solid color on the other, the white core that shines through when you tear or sand it... yeah.... this is good stuff.
I'm normally a "patterned paper" girl. When I start on a project that's the first thing I reach for. Well.... I wanted to challenge myself a bit and create using nothing but cardstock.... not hard to do when it's Double Dot. Here's a few things I created to share with you.
This layout was a breeze to put together with all the fall color choices. I cut several different fall leaf shapes out then inked them, sanded them and crinkled them a bit to give them a realistic appearance. Also, instead of adhering them with glue or tape runner, I stapled just the centers down so they would still stand up off the page. This adds a lot more texture and dimension.
Supplies used: Chiffon Dot, Burnt Orange Dot, Clover Dot, Plum Dot, Olive Dot, Gingerbread Dot, Curry Dot, Pet Shop Combo Letter Stickers, and Bo Bunny buttons.
This "Give Thanks" fall decor was an especially fun project. I started with a 20" x 8" piece of cardboard as the sign's base so it's not very heavy. I created a leaf stencil to add some subtle patterns using light brown paint. Then I cut the letters out of several different fall shades of Double Dot. Again, inking them, sanding them, then adding some machine stitched borders to them. I used some pop dots on several of the letters to make them stand off the sign a bit.
Supplies used: Burnt Orange Dot, Olive Dot, Plum Dot, Gingerbread Dot, Chocolate Dot, Curry Dot, Harvest Dot, and Chocolate Chunky Chipboard letters.
This last project is a fall card featuring some paper pieced pumpkins. One of my favorite paper-crafting techniques is cutting paper into different shapes, adding some inking for shading, linework for detail, and scrappy embellishments to give it the cutesy factor. Bo Bunny's Double Dot paper is PERFECT for this because of it's tiny dotted pattern. I created the pumpkin vines by tightly winding some skinny strips of cardstock around a small paintbrush.
Supplies used: Honey Mustard Dot, Burnt Orange Dot, Clover Dot, Chocolate Double Dot ribbon, and a Bo Bunny button.
Well.... are you falling for Double Dot yet? Do you have some in your stash? Do you have a favorite color you constantly reach for? Leave a comment for your chance to win some Double Dot cardstock and I will send some to one lucky winner.
Have a great week! ♥
