That’s what I am affectionately renaming the “Winter Joy” line JUST for today’s post. As Christmas came and went too quickly this year... so is the new year approaching.... way too quickly. Do you have any fun plans to bring in 2011? How about some fun ideas for your New Year's celebrations?
When I was finishing up my Christmas projects a few weeks ago using Bo Bunny's FABULOUS Winter Joy line, I felt a twinge of disappointment at putting those papers away for the season. Then it hit me.... NEW YEAR'S JOY!!! The gorgeous greens and purples and blues of Winter Joy are PERFECT when paired with black and silver to decorate for New Year's!
All I picked up from our local party shop was the silver top hat to alter, some colorful beads to fill the vase with, a roll of black tulle and some shiny silver star garland which you can probably find on clearance right now during the after Christmas sales. Cool! The rest was created using Bo Bunny's Winter Joy line. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask and I will do my best to explain by posting in the comments.
Supplies for altered top hat: Winter Joy Frosty, Winter Joy Magic (green side), Winter Joy Combo letter stickers, Whoo-ligans Petals-Black Tulle, Whoo-ligans Wrap-Blue Tulle
Supplies for Happy New Year wall hanging: Winter Joy Stripe (purple side), Winter Joy Bundled, Winter Joy Bundled (green side), Winter Joy Chipboard, Bo Bunny bling *Free font used for letters called "Wish I Were Taller"
Supplies for 2011 centerpiece: Winter Joy Bundled. Winter Joy Snow Angels (blue side), Bo Bunny Bling, Licorice Double Dot Ribbon *I cut the numbers and base out of wood for this project using my scroll saw then painted them black. I know most of you don't have a saw to cut your own wood but you can find alterable numbers at your local craft store for this. *Free font for "Brinin'in" called "Howser"
Supplies for Star Wands: Sugar Dot, Winter Joy Angels (blue side), Winter Joy Magic (green side), Winter Joy Stripe (purple side), Licorice Double Dot ribbon, Clover Double Dot ribbon, Aquamarine Double Dot ribbon
Supplies for Time 2 Party Card and Party Horns: Winter Joy Magic (green side), Winter Joy Snow Angels (blue side), Winter Joy Frosty, Bo Bunny bling, Sugar Dot, Winter Joy Combo Letter Stickers, Whoo-Ligans Wrap-Blue Tulle HORNS-- Winter Joy Stripe (purple side), Winter Joy Magic (green side), Winter Snow Angels (blue side) *For the horns I just took out the cardboard that came with it and used it as a pattern to trace onto the Winter Joy papers to cut a new horn.
What do you think? Are you excited you can use your Winter Joy papers still for more than just Christmas and winter projects? Do you have any Winter Joy left in your stash? Have you even had a chance to play with it yet? Well....leave a comment and tell me what part of this New Year's Joy set is your fave and I will pick a lucky winner to receive a new stash of Winter Joy goodies!!! Woot!
Now..... it's time to announce the winner of the Scrapbook and Cards Today subscription from this post. I'm actually green with envy about this! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this magazine too!
