Have you ever been moved by the words of a song? Some of my most favourite layouts that I've made are the ones that were inspired by a song. Maybe music that was playing during the time you took the photos in your layout. Or a song that comes to mind when you look at the photo you are scrapping. Music and lyrics can be a wonderful inspiration for a scrapbook page or scrapping project. Here are some examples of work inspired by lyrics done by our design team girls!
"Under Your Love Spell"
by Tara Orr
Tara said that as soon as she saw the chipboard piece (title chipboard used in this l/o) she had the song 'Under Your Spell' by Candi (a Canadian artist from the '90's) looping through her head, and found herself singing it over and over as she was working on her layout.

Is there a song that you've been meaning to scrap? Do you have a photo that when you look at it a song pops into your head? Why not scrap the lyrics or song title when you create your page with that photo! I was scrapping a few days ago and while I was working on my layout, my youngest daughter was showing me the Colby Cailett video for 'Brighter Than the Sun", I found my layout became sunny and happy just like the song, so I titled my layout like the song and added a few of the lyrics to the page! (You'll have to wait a few days to see this one as it was actually intended for another upcoming blogpost here :) Tell us what song moves you, what words you'd like to scrap, we'd love to hear it!
The layouts....gorgeous! I'm always so inspired when I visit. I'm a huge fan of using music lyrics as inspiration or titles for my layouts. Right now I'm listening to a CD by Rita Chiarelli who is a Canadian Blues Singer...talk about inspiration on that CD!
ReplyDeleteI love music and generally tend to listen when I am scrapping. There is always a song that comes to mind when I scrap pages of my son and that is
ReplyDelete" I've got sunshine, on a cloudy day"...he is my absolute sunshine on any cloudy day! You have just given me a great idea for a layout. Thanks!!
gorgeous creations! My daughters dog is so ugly...I am going to scrap him and the lyrics...Im Sexy and I know it LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have had several layouts in my head that are inspired by songs -- mostly Country music songs -- I have even thought of doing an album just with pages of country music song pages... the first one will be "Watching You" by Rodney Atkins... just need the right photos of my husband and son together...
ReplyDeleteohh and "Cleaning This Gun" also by Rodney Atkins for my brother-in-law with his 3 daughters... there's a few Brad Paisley songs that would be great too! Now you've got my mind working again... think I have to go scrap now! :o)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite song, and my favorite movie, Stand By Me. Great for siblings standing next to one another!
ReplyDeleteI used to be on "Scrapping the Music's" challenge blog DT... and love love love to scrap songs!! Soooooooooo inspiring!! I love love love what the DT made today... sooooooooo GORGEOUS! :):):):):):):):):):):)

Wow! Tara's LO is stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteI often have a favorite song running through my head when I scrap pictures of my girl....You Are My Sunshine. My parents and grandparents sang that song to me as a child, and it is one of the first songs that my daughter learned the words to!!
gorgeous layouts!! I've scrapped: "Time in a bottle" by Jim Croce, "you are my sunshine" and recently I made a layout called "You'll be in my heart" song by Phil Collins from the tarzan movie. Every time I see that layout that song gets stuck to my head.
