Technique Tuesday - Embossing

Today we asked some of our Bo Bunny designers to create projects using a technique called embossing.  There is more than one way to emboss.  Mireille and Agnieszka choose to use some of the fantastic Bo Bunny Clear Stamps and a technique known as heat embossing.  The technique is simple.  You take your stamp and ink it with a pigment ink or embossing ink.  Then stamp it on your choosen surface.  Next, sprinkle the image with embossing powder. These inks take longer to dry so the powder sticks to the stamped image. You then heat set it using a heat gun.   Once the powder is melted, you are finished.

Gabrielle choose a different technique, known as dry embossing.  Dry embossing utilizes a stencil, or in this case the Scor-Buddy (by Scor-Pal) and a stylus.  If you are using a stencil, you place the paper on a light box or window so you can seen the stencil image through the paper.  You then trace the image with the stylus. With Gabrielle's project she simply placed the paper on the Scor-Buddy and used her stylus to create the lines on the border of her card and to create the folds on the dress.

Now, let's see what the designers have to share with us today!

Mireille has a cute story to share about her project:
"Raaf" (is Dutch for Raven) is the project of 2nd grade. He spends the weekend with one of the kids in my daughters class, they are supposed to take pictures and write his adventures down in a "diary". Back in school they have to deliver a lecture. This weekend it's Amber's turn to keep Raaf. His house was falling apart so we decided to fix it and make it a bit prettier. Since he is constantly traveling from one student to the other it seemed like a fun idea to use the On the Go line. I embossed footprints, a map and a train with stamps and black embossing powder. For his name I used the chipboard alpha's. I traced the letter and then filled them with Emboss Gloss and heat embossed them.
