I know on the shopping list it says to get two of all the papers, and we actually use 3 of Flutter. So if you can get another Flutter paper, great! If not, feel free to use another 12x12 paper from the list. There are a couple extras (to make cards with!) Sorry for the discrepancy!

How about binding with ribbon but threading a nice wooden bead in between each page?
Bookbinder rings? Or aren't they wide enough?
Cut off the hole side of all 12 chipboard pages and keep the tabs as the TOP. Don't bind but decorate a shoe box and pop them in. Lots of room and one more thing to decorate YEA! You could even store extras like return address labels and stamps in it.

I would use metal rings. If it's going to be really big, maybe you could make the pages for occasion, instead of by month. (Birthdays, Any Occasion, Encouragement).
