Farewell Mini Album by Megan Gourlay

When is a card not a card?  When it's a mini album instead!  I usually get asked to make cards at work for people who are leaving, having babys etc, but this time a colleague was leaving after 15yrs so I thought such a momentous time need something a wee bit special.  This time I made a mini album with enough pages inside for plenty of space for everyone in the team to be able to write in.

On the front cover I wanted a mixed media look to the background but I didn't want it to bubble which sometimes happens when gluing the base paper to the chipboard cover.  Scrapbook Adhesives has a product called Adhesive Sheets - its a bit like double sided tape but in sheets! - so I used that to adhere the paper and it worked beautifully!  I've also used foam sheets and foam dots to help create a layered effect with my embellishments.

The Adhesive Sheets also came in handy for adhering the papers and embellishments to flaps of each page, making it less bulky and easy for people to write on.

  11. What a great idea! I usually make mini-albums with spots for photos, but having space for journaling by a group, like a guest book of sorts, is genius!

  21. This album is so great! I must try using the adhesive sheets from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L for covering large areas as I really don't like the bubbles I get with other adhesives.
