Hello BoBunny friends! Angela here. Today I'm sharing something different than usual. It's a project I enjoyed so much making and that it's still on the go. I made a Rainbow Journal with BoBunny Double Dot papers and a Coptic binding.
Let's start talking about the cover. I kept it quite simple. I placed a few layered chipboards in the center of the front cover. They have the double purpose to embellish and to secure the ribbon of the book closure.
As I said, it's a Coptic binding and here you can see how the journal spine looks like. Well, I must say I'm not a pro with Coptic but I enjoyed so much the process that I'm not worried to show my mistakes. After all, the real reason why we all make is to feel good, right?
For the inner pages, I went for a rainbow color scheme. I used several papers from various BoBunny collection. There are small dots, big dots, lace patterns, chevrons and vintage ones. They are so pretty and cheerful all together! Then, inside each signature I put three sheets of white regular paper, to have some space to play. To help me in the bookbinding I used I very useful tool by WRMK, the Book Binding guide. If you like me love making your own notebooks, I highly recommend it.
The cover is a styrofoam piece of 1/8 inch thick. I found in my stash a few washi tapes just of that size and I had the idea to cover the outline with one of them. This is just a little detail that enhance the journal so much.
The following photos are from the inside of my Rainbow Journal and its colorful pages. To decorate the iner pages I used stickers and die-cuts from Harmony, Sweet Clementine and Bee-utiful You collection. They perfectly match Double Dot papers. Keep it in mind if you need some base cardstocks different from solids for you projects ;)
My intention is to use it like a diary, sticking photos and writing thoughts and considerations. When I'll finish it, I will show you in details, I promise! I hope you enjoyed the Rainbow Journal as much as I do and you are inspired to create one of your own. Thank you so much for joining me today!
Love,
Angela
