Whooooo would like to see another tutorial?You.....oh good, cause I've got another one lined up for you.
Though it's a tried and true technique, of making your own patterned paper, I wonder if it's one of those older techniques that has been forgotten for new trends.
Having just gotten my hot little hands on some of the new Bo Bunny release goodies, I couldn't whip out my new stamps fast enough.
Here are my basic supplies. Cardstock, some clear stamps, acrylic blocks, and ink.
First, I stamp the mum/tree background stamp in a russet color all over my cream cardstock. Making sure I stamp off the edges as well, and using some scrap to keep my table clean.
Next, I used the medium circle on my Elements set, and kissed the stamp off on my scrap, then stamped it- this gives more of a weathered lighter look to the ink.
Here is my paper finished. What to do with it? Let it dry overnight.
Next, stamp your tree- two layers and two colors- the same russet color for the leaves, and a dark brown for the trunk.
I fussy cut the tree out, cut strips of Delilah paper, even trimming the brown with scallop scissors, and glued it across the front of this small treat box. I foam taped the tree, then added it to the center of my box.
I added a cute little owl to my tag, stamping it twice, once on pink, and once on my own patterned paper. Then cut the owl out from the pink paper and add foam tape to it.
I added my paper and owl to a piece of pink paper, then cut a tag shape and scalloped the bottom edge with scissors. I added a couple googly eyes to him as well.
I also created a matching birthday card, using a lace punch, and fussy cut another tree for the card. I added a button to the tree for a little extra touch. And of course, added another strip of that fabulous homemade patterned paper!
