So many of us love going to Pinterest for inspiration. Whether it's for a new recipe, hair styles, or DIY projects, you are bound to find something that will peak your interest. Today we asked Romy and Gaby to share how Pinterest has inspired their latest BoBunny creations.
Gaby shared that she really loves doing the Pinspiration assignment. In fact, she actually has a board on Pinterest called a "Passion for Doorways" She collects photos of old and unique weathered doors, so you can imagine how much she must love The Avenues collection!

Pinspiration Image:
"I loved the weathered woods in the
Pinspiration photo and I adore the soft colors (cream, sage and
vintage aqua) so I used these colors in my page design."
"My oldest daughter has been helping out this summer working for her dad (landscaping), she just loves working outdoors and learning all about plants...that and riding the mower.
Designer TIP: "When I find a collection that has lots of images on the papers that I feel would make great embellishments (like the clock, shutter and door papers in The Avenues collection) I take a moment before I begin scrapping and cut out the images on the paper and keep them in a little baggie, so that I have them at my fingertips when I'm putting a page together."
"Here I put some of the cut images from the patterned papers and tucked them behind the edges of the photo."
Designer Tip: "I like to take design elements that I see in the patterned paper, such as the strips of washi tape in the background paper and repeat it in my page design....here I used some neutral strips of washi tape on the edges of the layout and around the photo of my daughter."

Romy loves how Pinterest images can
actually be a great inspiration for a card design or colour scheme and she found two images that went really well with two of the new Bo Bunny
collections: The Avenues and Autumn Song. She was amazed by how
quickly these cards came together, because the Pinterest images
made it so easy to pick a colour combination or to choose a design
for her cards.
Pinspiration Image:
"I just loved the neutral colours (beige
and cream) in the background and the soft pink and blue in the little
details. On my card I decided to use the same colour scheme: neutral
tones with a hint of pink and blue."
Designer Tip: "Don't be afraid to layer
embellishments! On the left part of my card I stapled a chipboard
medaillon onto a chipboard tag and also added a 3D banner sticker on
top of it. By layering embellishments, you can turn one embellishment
into a real eye-catcher."

Chipboard: The Avenues Layered Chipboard, The Avenues 12x12" Chipboard

"My second card features the amazing
Autumn Song collection. I always love seeing autumn photos and this
one from Pinterest immediately caught my attention. It was both the colours and the overall
design of the Pinterest image that inspired me to make my card. I
loved the red butterfly flying among all the coloured leaves. I
followed this design and also made a collage of leaves on my card
with a little red butterfly among them. Can you spot it in the right
upper corner?"
Designer Tip: "I clustered together some of the
tiny leaves from the Noteworthy package in the corners of the
chipboard frame. To do so I gently removed the chipboard sunflowers
(left below corner) from the frame and adhered the leaves in this
corner. I then glued down the sunflowers on top of the leaves."

ReplyDeleteA friend of mine told me I'd get addicted to Pinterest if I'd ever worked up the courage to create an account.
ReplyDeleteSo... I did... Aaaand... got hooked.
I have a board that's called "shabby chic", it has colour combo's that I like.
I also have a board with sketches and templates. Sketches are great! When I create a page, I try to follow a sketch, but somehow it always turns out differently, hahaha!
