A hearty welcome to all Bo Bunny visitors and fans. 

We are so excited to present ourselves and try to write this in understandable and well English, because it´s not our first language.

Das creative Hobby is a family owned company from 

Dresden in East Germany, which was founded in 1994. We 

started with one shop and nowadays we own seven 3260 

sq. ft. shops (in Dresden, Pirna, Erfurt, Leipzig, Bautzen) 

and planning the eighth one in Berlin ;)    

In our shops we offer around 31,000 different materials 

for art, crafts, handicraft and – how could it be 

otherwise- for scrapbooking. 

We buy our products all over the world, for example in Nepal, India or the USA (like Bo Bunny). 

In the Year 2003 we extended our range of scrap 

materials. One of our specialties is our laser. With this 

technology we can make unique stamps, chip boards, 

albums and stencils according to customers wishes.   

We love to teach classes, for instance this month’s “school cone creating”, and our popular “Scrap-Event” every month. This event exists since 2007 and has started with one class every month, but now there are two classes every month because of the large number of participants. There we show our costumers new products or show how to scrap with other materials like acrylic colors, wooden materials or canvas.      

We are really happy to use and to sell the Bo Bunny papers and embellishments and to design and make new samples for our customers, so they can buy more of Bo Bunny ;) 

Every time when we see the new papers of Bo Bunny we 

get so excited and look forward to holding them in our hands and use them for the first time.

We are thrilled to be featured on the Bo Bunny blog and share what we do.  When we opened Joys of Life Scrapbooking store almost five years ago, we could not have imagined the exciting journey that lay         ahead of us!

Owner Stacey Heiland has been scrapbooking and stamping as well as running a photography business for over 20 years.  Her creative background includes many years of art education, other small business endeavors, and involvement with several art and photography organizations throughout central and eastern Pennsylvania.  

After the loss of her mother, she left her corporate America job where she worked as a Project Manager/IT Analyst for 17 years and opened Joys of Life Scrapbooking so she could share her creativity, faith, and personal life journey with others. The classes offered express the heart and soul of this small business and ministry and reflect the way Stacey’s faith guides her steps in running the store.

The store is located in Mechanicsburg, PA, just 10 minutes from Harrisburg, the state capital, and 45 minutes from the heart of Amish country in Lancaster, PA. 

The store attracts avid scrapbookers and stampers along the East Coast and has customers ranging from Canada to Oregon to southern Florida. Our atmosphere is warm and inviting and offers an extensive inventory of over 10,000 items. Inventory is turned over rapidly, and classes often fill up shortly after they are announced, necessitating a waiting list.

We have several customers who receive monthly kits by mail for some of the classes if they are unable to attend on the dates the class is offered. 

While online shopping is not yet available, we always can ship any in-stock items to you directly; just give us a call if you are looking for something in particular. If we don’t have it in stock, we’ll try to get it for you or help you find what you need.

We offer classes in scrapbooking, stamping, mini albums, home décor items, mixed media, and art journaling. We include a number of faith-based and motivational classes in our calendar, believing that creativity is not only a means of self-expression but can also assist in personal and spiritual growth and emotional healing.

There are always friendly faces to help you when you visit us – to show you new products, answer questions you may have, or discuss the latest trends in the industry. We continue to offer new and different items you may not have seen, and we pride ourselves in supporting other small businesses. We love taking classes with Bo Bunny whenever we get the chance, and we use many of their products in our various classes.  

We offer a wide variety of special events at the store, such as a semi-annual yard sale where customers can buy and sell used supplies. The proceeds from our yard sale are donated to various local ministries and charities. We also participate in various community events and outside classes.

Within our walls you can find a great time of fellowship, food, and fun as people share their creativity as well as their hearts as they work on their projects in one of our three crop rooms or classroom. Hi Bo Bunny Blog Readers, my name is Kristie Anderson and I am the wife of one of the owners of Wood Creations; an unfinished wood craft store.  My husband, Kory Anderson, and his two good friends, Rhett Bonham and Nate Salisbury, opened the store in June of 2011. 

The idea for the store came when the partners’ wives were interested in wood crafting and traveling at least 50 miles each way to a store to feed their craft addiction. The men, who have backgrounds in construction (which definitely comes in handy when building shelves and cutting wood) and business, thought there was a great need for a wood craft store in northern Utah and came together to start up Wood Creations.

The store specializes in unfinished wood crafts; which include individual letters, packaged seasonal kits and home decor, picture frames, shelves, crafting supplies and vinyl. Most of our crafts are packaged as kits and come unfinished; but we provide a completed design in the store to spark our customer’s creativity and we also carry all of the supplies to finish our crafts. Of course we carry Bo Bunny paper, as many of our crafts have been completed using this paper. We love the variety and the designs and always love our wood projects completed using this paper.

The main store, located in West Haven, Utah, employs over 20 employees; with many family members working at the store including brothers, sisters, kids and wives--this of course includes me. Some of the positions include our designers, who actually come up with the wood designs and who also finish the crafts. We also have wood cutters who work in the shop and who carefully cut out the wood designs one-by-one. Once a design is drawn, it takes many tweaks and hours of work before the designs hit our shelves. 

With two wonderful years under our belts, we decided it was time to expand and chose Idaho Falls, Idaho, as our next store destination. This store opened in June of 2013 and employees around 10 employees. Our next store is opening in St. George, Utah, at the end of the month. We are so excited to be growing and expanding and love the excitement that comes with opening a new store. We have so many wonderful customers who are craft addicts and many who are just getting into the hobby. 

Many don’t realize how truly easy it is to finish our crafts but once they give it a try, they realize that even the most novice crafter can complete our projects. And, for those interested in getting started, we also offer crafts classes with step-by-step instructor help. For anyone who isn’t near one of our stores, we do also ship most of our projects and letters via our website.

Here is our autumn word set, which sells for $19.99 in the store. To complete the project we have chosen some darling Bo Bunny paper, traced and cut out the paper for each letter, painted our letters, and glued the paper onto our letters. We then finished the word off with some glitter and embellishments and ta-dah, we have a gorgeous finished craft, perfect as a fall decoration for any home.
