Hi! It's Dee here! I thought it might be fun to share this quick and easy idea for a birthday album with you...(it happens to be quite adorable, if I should say so myself...could be the cute photos of my sweet Brendan, maybe?? Or...it might just be all of the fun 'It's My Party' papers and embellishments!)
The album itself is an 8X8 album..that comes with page protectors already inside*, which makes it so easy just to whip up some 8X8 layouts to slide into the album as you complete each year.
For the cover of the album, I created a quick little embellishment for the title of the book attaching the cute cardstock circle sticker (Make a Wish Cardstock Stickers) to the center of the flower. Then, I simply cut the word strips from my favorite paper of this line (the reverse side of It's My Party Cut Outs!) and slid them under the edge of the cardstock sticker circle.
Cute, huh?
My goal when starting this project was to make one page for each of Brendan's 15 birthdays (so far). I went through all of my photos (scanned the prints taken with film) and made a folder for each of the 15 photos I decided to use from each birthday. Then I went back through my old scrapbook pages from each birthday party, etc to get a few details from each one:
Example:
the date of each party
what the theme of the party was
where the party was held
information about the cake/gifts/guests/etc
One of the COOLEST THINGS? All of these BoBunny papers are TWO-SIDED!
Which means, you can cut 1 8X8 ...and use BOTH SIDES to create 2 pages of the album!!
(Isn't that clever??)
On each 8X8 background side, I attached a coordinating 7X7 background...then I started adding the photos, journaling and goodies!
If you look at the It's My Party Poems paper...you'll notice these ADORABLE circles with NUMBERS on them! (They go up to 10) Just grab your circle punches for a quick and easy way to show your child's age!
Once I reached Brendan's 11th birthday, I simply punched a circle from one of the 'un-numbered' circle images from It's My Party Poems paper and used some rubber stamps to create the 11 circle for that page (and up through the 15th birthday). There are also some 'un-numbered' circle images on the reverse side of It's My Party Day paper.
(See the 11th page below)
For the journaling, I decided to keep designing with circles...so I typed my journaling onto the reverse (solid red) side of It's My Party Confetti paper. Punched it out...sanded the edges...and voila...little circles of information from each birthday.
For each page, I cut out various word strips from the reverse side of the It's My Party Cut Outs and added various words to each page, and a brad for a wee bit of dimension. Each page also has one photo corner Cardstock Sticker, too!
I added lots of fun little circle touches by using my circle punch some more...and by using all the fun circle stickers you can find on all of the sheets of Cardstock Stickers in this line.
Brendan will be 16 in November...then I'll put together that page...and maybe one more for each of the next 2 birthdays...up to his 18th!
Now I can look through this Birthday Book, instead of digging through all of my 12X12 albums, to see how he changed over the years...and I know it will be so quick & easy to create a few more pages to finish this book up over the next few years.
(Just remember to hoard some of the papers and stickers from the It's My Party line so you can finish your pages!)
