November Blog Class Teaser & Autumn Song Layouts

The blog class starts in 2 weeks! It's easy, fun, and there's a chance to win!

It's going to be a wonderful week of awesome Autumn Song inspiration!

Wonderful Fall by Juliana Michaels

The inspiration for the die cut leaves that are underneath my photos came from the leaves in the patterned paper. I wanted to create the effect that I was sitting in a pile of beautifully colored fall leaves. I then carried out the leaf theme on my journaling tag and title piece using some of the die cut leaves from the Autumn Song Noteworthy pack. To see how I used the negative piece from the die cut leaves stop by my blog for another Autumn Song layout using that die cut as my background.

Delight by Gabrielle Pollacco

My daughter took this beautiful forest photo when she went on a hike recently with a few of her friends and I was so happy to have these pretty green/purple papers from the Autumn Song collection to scrap them!

I wanted the page to be lush with blooms so I used a variety of the purple Bo Bunny blooms from the paper designs to the fabric and crochetted blooms.... and for smaller blooms I used a floral die cut on some Bo Bunny Violet dot cardstock and used a wet paper technique to give them a little bit of a crinkle.

I loved the leafy flourish on one of the patterned papers so I fussy cut it out the flourish so that it would drap down onto my page and used foam dots to apply it to the page.  I wanted to continue with the flourish look of the papers so I used the Bo Bunny Curly Q Stamps to add more of the flourishes.

Designer Tip:  Some inks can bead up on a new stamp set, so I just rub an eraser over the surface of the stamp before I begin stamping, it gives you a nice sharp image.

Autumn Song by Romy Veul

With the gorgeous Autumn Song collection it was love at first sight for me. I just love the warm colours and beautiful patterns in these papers. This collection is perfect for scrapping photos of wonderful fall landscapes, pumpkin patches and Thanksgiving, but I wanted to show that it can be used for other seasons than fall as well. On this lay-out I scrapped a photo of myself among some colourful flowers. I thought that the colours of my dress and the flowers matched this collection pretty well.

My layout actually consists of two large clusters of paper layers and embellishments: one in the left upper corner and one in the right below corner. I did lots of layering with three different papers and distressed all the edges. Then, I started positioning chipboard pieces and die-cuts around my photo. I attached foam tape behind my photo, so I was able to achieve quite a lot of dimension with the embellishments. I attached all chipboard and die-cut pieces with foam tape as well to make them stand out more.

Designer Tip: The Autumn Song stamps have some beauiful music note paper patterns on them. I rather randomly stamped with them all over my lay-out to add a nice pattern to my background.

Apples by Lisa Gregory

Apple Picking in the fall up north is so much fun. This photo of my brothers girlfriend reminded me of the beautiful colors of Autumn Song. I used a die cut paper from an older BoBunny collection and designed a template for my patterned paper, then cut out the wonderful design. I did a little  machine sewing around the design because it defines the curves of the paper. I then heat embossed the stamp design using a rich red embossing powder. I sprayed the doily and used it as the base of my photo mat.

I layered the Noteworthy pieces and used pop dots to raise the design and make it dimensional. Then I used the letters from the Fright Delight collection for the title of the page. It matched perfectly.

I clustered my flowers on the top and the bottom of the page to frame the photo. I mixed the BoBunny blossoms with my own handmade blossoms that I created with the Double Dots papers. Adding the jewels to the centers of the flowers finished them beautifully. I lightly inked all of the flowers to bring them all together.
