Spring Kid's Craft

Hello!

Kristen here with a fun craft for kid's!

These cute, crafty and earth friendly toilet paper roll butterflies are so colorful, and easy to make. You could make just one, or a big flock of them. They are sure to brighten any spot you put them.

First, you will need:
Bobunny dot cardstock, a toilet paper roll, Bobunny double dot ribbon, googly eyes, a 1.5 inch flower punch and a 1/2 inch circle punch, and adhesives.

To create the base of the butterfly, I cut a piece of cardstock into a 4.25 x 5.25 inch rectangle. Put adhesive along all the edges of the rectangle, plus a little in the middle of the cardstock. Now roll the cardstock onto the toilet paper roll, covering it. At this point you can also add your googly eyes. I think it's fun for them to be different sizes.

Next, cut two 3 inch strips of ribbon. I kept my butterfly all matching, the body, wing base and antennae all the same color.
After cutting the ribbon, tie a knot at one end of the ribbon, and adhere the ribbon to the inside of the tube, like shown.

Now we can work on the wings.
Here is a pattern to use to cut out your wing base.

Trace the wing pattern onto cardstock, and cut out.
Now add in colorful punches using your flower and circle punches, cutting off any parts of the flowers that overlap the edge of the wings.

To finish the butterfly, place adhesive along the middle of the wings, and adhere to the back of the finished tube.

Hope you enjoy my fast and fun butterfly project!

Getting Organized With BoBunny

It's tax day in the United States! How are you doing? Is this a good thing (taxes have been filed for months?), a bad thing (you're frantically finishing up!?), or are you indifferent (hey, maybe you don't live in the United States!)? Many have made it a tradition to line up at the main post office for hours to ensure their taxes are postmarked by this date, but I am not the "last minute" type. I much prefer to be organized, and although you may have thought I was going to share how I organize my BoBunny products, instead I am going to show you how BoBunny is helping me stay organized, and ensures I am in the right place at the right time - with "My Life", a planner that is fun to use primarily because it uses one of my favorite all-time BoBunny lines - Love Shack. This purse-sized planner utilizes Day-Timer brand 2010 calendar and accessory pages, and to my delight, I found one of the chipboard mini-albums in my stash fit the pages perfectly! I painted the chipboard with a custom mixed color to match the blue-green colors of Love Shack, and topped with Shimmerz turquoise paint. To ensure that my planner is quite durable, I used Mod Podge to adhere the patterned papers, and once dry, used stitching to secure the layers even more.

Using the "Circle This Date" Stamp & Store set - I created extra large month tabs to make finding a month very easy. Chipboard pages throughout the planner provide easy-access division between sections, which include contact information for family and friends, notes, travel log and more.
More images and details can be found on my personal blog, but for the sake of space, the main idea I would like to share on this particular mini album is the closure.

I used an approximate 17" piece of 3/8" clover double dot ribbon, and used a sewing machine to stitch a 1" circle to one end, and a 1.5" circle to the other. Velcro circle shapes are used, as shown, and caught in with the stitches. The smaller circle is secured on to the ribbon end that is to wrap around the bottom front of the album, and the larger circle goes on the opposite end as shown.
Along the backside of the planner, I stitched the full ribbon length approximately 1.25" from the outside scalloped edge. The ribbon, stitched to chipboard, is very durable and allows for constant use. With a bit of extra ribbon I stitched a loop of ribbon to the inside back cover, which allows it to hold my favorite pen.
What I love best about my personal planner is the colors, the fun chipboard pages with a mix of edges, the shimmer I've painted on the papers - AND the fact that every year all I have to do is order new refill pages and I am set to meet the new year in organized fashion. If you would like to see more of this project please hop over to my blog to catch a glimpse. Thanks for visiting the BoBunny blog today - come back tomorrow to see how the BoBunny team is hopping into Spring!

Roughin It - Just a little

Hi everyone Carole here- today I am going to share with you my "Roughin It" 3D Box, I used a cute photo of my son Chaise.

This is what my "Great Outdoors" project looks like when it is finished, I hope you have fun with these step by step instructions. Materials Used:
Roughin It Pattern Paper
Roughin It Happy Camper Pattern Paper
Roughin It Road Signs Pattern Paper
Roughin It Way to Go Die Cut
Roughin It 12x12 Chipboard
Catching Memories Cardstock Stickers
Mellow Yellow Double Dot Cardstock
Chalk
Glue
Foam Tape
String
Sepia Ink
6.5 x 6.5 Inch Box

Step 1

Cover your box inside and out with the Reverse side of Roughin It Happy Camper pattern paper. Cut out the Roughin It Way to Go Die Cut so it fits to the back of the box as shown in the below photo, and ink around the sides of the box.

Step 2

Cut out the 2 Trees from the Roughin It pattern paper ink around the side of the trees with a sponge and stick to the trees to the back left hand side of the box as shown in the below photo.
Step 3
Cut Photo out so the image blends into the scene you are creating, as you can see here, I cut the top of the photo, then I stuck the photo to chipboard and using foam tape I then stuck the photo to the back of the box.
Step 4
I then created the sun by using a circle punch and I chalked around the edge of the circle with some yellow to highlight the circle.
I also created some rays to the sun, I glued the rays down first and using foam tape stuck the sun over the rays, as shown in the below photo.
Step 5
I created a hill to the front of the box, I used Reverse Roughin It Road Signs, cut out a wave shape and stuck it to chipboard with glue cut it out, then glued it to the front of the box.
As you can see in this photo how the hill was stuck to the front of the box, and then I start to add the embellishments with the 12x12 chipboard and also the stickers, let your imagination go wild, these chipboard shapes and stickers are so much fun to use and so easy.
A close up of the chipboard sign that I stuck to the front of the box, aren't they just so cute. Here are some more close ups of the chipboard tree and fishing rod etc., these were all stuck onto the box with foam tape to get the different layers.
All these embellishments are just gorgeous, here are some stickers that I cut out and stuck onto cardstock and then foam taped to the front of the box, lots of different layers to the front.
I also attached some chipboard to the top of the box with string.
Again here is the finished projects.
I really hope you enjoyed this step by step project, and I would love to see some of your 3D boxes.
Bo Bunny fun !!
Carole xx

Stamping your own background

Hi there!

Kristen here with a stamping technique for you.

Have you ever sorted and resorted through your patterned papers, without finding just the right one for the layout you are planning? I do this sometimes.

How about making your own customized patterned paper with stamps.

With a few clear Bobunny stamps, some white cardstock, and assorted ink colors, I created my own with just the right look for my photos.

First I used a flower stamp from the Jazmyne Clearly Stamp set. I inked with a lavender ink, and started across my paper in a diagonal direction, making sure to stamp partially across my edges. Use a scrap piece of paper to keep your workspace clean.

After cleaning the stamp, I used a lime green stamp next, and continued switching colors until my paper was filled.

Next I inked a small stamp from the Sophie Clearly Stamp set, inked it with a pink dye ink and stamped between flowers in a varied pattern. This is where you stamp as much or as little as you think looks good.

Then I trimmed my paper into the sizes I wanted it, and used it on my layout.

For the embellishments, I stamped a few extra flowers with the ink colors, and fussy cut them out, popdotting the purple flower between the two parts of the stamp.

I added gems to the centers of my flowers to finish them.

Try your own patterned paper with stamps the next time you sit down to create and see what fun new looks you can come up with.

Are you ready for Summer?

I know I am. ;) One fun and super cheap thing I like to do is make myself matching accessories for my summer trips to the beach ect..

Last month I made a fun placemat purse. You can pick up a placemat for a few dollars, add some ribbon, and in about an hour have a fun little handbag.

Here's what I started with (adding the yellow ribbon):

Picture 10480

Supplies: placemat, Bo Bunny button and double dot ribbon.

I wanted the scalloped edges to show so I sewed along the edges of both sides to close up the placemat. You can also turn inside out and sew that way as well. Once the sides are sewn up sew on your ribbon handles.

Picture 10479

Next use Fabri-Tac to add a strip of ribbon along the top with buttons at each end. Finally, add the ribbon flowers adhering them with Fabri-Tac as well. For a tutorial one how to make the flowers see this post. :) Just adhere directly unto the purse instead of on the paper circle.

Here's my version from last month again:

And while I was creating the purse I thought I d a matching checkbook cover. Here's what I started out with:

Picture 10482

Supplies: Flutter Butter Honey paper, double dot ribbon, and clear checkbook cover

Just cut the paper to fit inside the clear cover. Make two ribbon flowers & leaves
and adhere to front and you're done. :)

Have fun creating!
