Fun Flower Flip Flops!

Happy summer everyone! I can't tell you how much my kids and I are enjoying the lazy days of summer this year. I hope you are too! Right now our days are pretty carefree so we've been spending our time swimming, playing and being creative. Both my children love arts and crafts. They'll spend hours drawing, painting or just creating whatever their imaginations have dreamed up. But my daughter, Sheridan, especially loves all things Bo Bunny and would happily jump at the chance to play with my box of goodies. It's all those gorgeous colors...I can so relate! So I thought this flip flop project would be just the thing for her.

To create them, my daughter and I started with a couple pairs of dollar flip flops that can be found at many local craft stores. And it was kismet that we found some in the fun, vibrant colors of two of Bo Bunny's new collections - Sun Kissed and Petal Pushers.

First, we used a hole punch tool about 1/8" diameter that is strong enough to punch through the plastic material and punched a hole in the center of the strap.

She inserted a brad from the bottom up so that the prongs showed on top. We did this to avoid the prongs from scratching her feet. The smooth head of the brad can't be felt at all and won't cause any irritation. Then she layered various flowers on top of the brad prongs. Once she had the flowers in place, she opened the prongs and pressed them flat.

With the flowers secured to the strap, she then adhered the buttons and gems to the center of the flowers to cover the prongs. We used a strong adhesive to keep the embellishments in place. And voila! That's it! They take all of about 5 minutes to put together.

For these flip flops she used the coordinated colors within each collection, but she already has plans to mix and match colors from previous lines to create her own color combos. I may need to hide my supplies! :)

Aren't they adorable? I may need a pair for myself!

So whether you're looking for a rainy day project for kids or maybe a girly craft for an upcoming party, these flip flops are the perfect quick summer craft for the little divas in your house. And with Bo Bunny's colorful array of Fabric Flowers and Buttons & Bling you can put together these cute flip flops in a flash!

Tip: If you do not have a hole punch or choose not to use one, simply use a very strong adhesive to attach the flowers and other embellishments.

Have fun creating!

Spring Kid's Craft

Hello!

Kristen here with a fun craft for kid's!

These cute, crafty and earth friendly toilet paper roll butterflies are so colorful, and easy to make. You could make just one, or a big flock of them. They are sure to brighten any spot you put them.

First, you will need:
Bobunny dot cardstock, a toilet paper roll, Bobunny double dot ribbon, googly eyes, a 1.5 inch flower punch and a 1/2 inch circle punch, and adhesives.

To create the base of the butterfly, I cut a piece of cardstock into a 4.25 x 5.25 inch rectangle. Put adhesive along all the edges of the rectangle, plus a little in the middle of the cardstock. Now roll the cardstock onto the toilet paper roll, covering it. At this point you can also add your googly eyes. I think it's fun for them to be different sizes.

Next, cut two 3 inch strips of ribbon. I kept my butterfly all matching, the body, wing base and antennae all the same color.
After cutting the ribbon, tie a knot at one end of the ribbon, and adhere the ribbon to the inside of the tube, like shown.

Now we can work on the wings.
Here is a pattern to use to cut out your wing base.

Trace the wing pattern onto cardstock, and cut out.
Now add in colorful punches using your flower and circle punches, cutting off any parts of the flowers that overlap the edge of the wings.

To finish the butterfly, place adhesive along the middle of the wings, and adhere to the back of the finished tube.

Hope you enjoy my fast and fun butterfly project!

Kids Valentine Crafts..

A little love from little people...

We always seem to make projects and cards to show our children how much we love them but how about a project they can make to show how much they love you? Wouldn't that be cool!! To have something that's been made by them step by step is surely something you would treasure forever!

Here's a step by step for a love glitter globe :) My sons, Ethan and Scott made this one with a little supervision when using the scissors etc...

First of all take your globe and dismantle completely...
Draw twice around the insert onto the back of your patterned paper.
Cut these both out...
and ink the edges.
Ethan chose the large border Martha Stewart heart punches but any punch would do to create a decorative section. Again ink the edges.
Taking one of the strips of stickers from the Love Bug range of papers, lay a strip along the bottom to add detail.
Place your rub on half on and half off the background paper. Dont worry about overlapping bits or hiding other sections. Add extra little details, we added the acorn, flower and gems (you can't go wrong with gems!) ;)
Take 2 photograph and pick a couple of punches that will work well together. My boys chose to use the star punch as a mount. The circle punch was the closest that would cut around the heads but not leave too much background shown.
Punch these out and ink the edges.
Matt your photograph onto your 'shape' and then layer them onto the main backgrounds. We tucked the star points under the heart lattice and spiked up other sections. The boys chose their own sentiments from the Love Bandit stickers.
Place your photographs back to back with the sponge section inbetween (just as it was before you dismantled it) Slot this all back into the middle section of your globe :)
Voila, a perfect gift for the one you love :)
Please share with us what your children are making for Valentines day :)

Love and Hugs
Debbie, Ethan and Scott xxx
