Let's Stamp!

Hi Everybody!
Today I have a fun card stamping tutorial for you. I'm sure everyone is familiar with stamping to make your own background paper, but it's a technique I often forget to use. When I stamp, I usually just stamp the main image and then use coordinating patterned paper to finish the project with. Well, for this project I not only stamped the main image, but some background paper as well! Here's the card I'll be making:

The first thing I did was to gather all my BoBunny supplies. I used : What U Got Cookin' Acrylic Stamp set, Double Dot Chocolate Ribbon, Chiffon Dot Cardstock, Coffee Dot Cardstock, Kitchen Spice Allspice paper, Kitchen Spice Ginger paper, Kitchen Spice Nutmeg paper, Kitchen Spice Buttons & Bling.

I started by making the base of my card (4x6) and then layering a contrasting color paper on top. I love using contrasting colors for the base of the card because it tends to make the colors of the card pop.

The next thing I did was to choose two small and pretty stamps to make my background paper. I chose the smaller stamps because you don't the background to take over your card. Background paper is only meant to complement the main image.

I inked up my stamps and carefully stamped my background paper. I was very careful with the spacing of my images. Make sure to stamp your images close together. It looks more uniform and makes it hard to see any mess-ups. I love using acrylic stamps and blocks because you can see exactly where you're stamping- which is great for minimizing mistakes.

The next thing I did was to cut my paper and lay it on my base. I always do this to see how everything looks and to see if I want to change anything. For me this is a must before I use any adhesive on my project.

Next, I inked the edges of my card for added dimension.

I then used a scalloped border punch to punch a decorative edge. I added the scallop to the middle piece of paper on my card. You know how I'm addicted to scalloped border punches!

Now it was time to stamp my main image. I used a leftover piece of paper from my punched border. After I stamped my image, I decided I wanted to continue the scalloped look, so I used my scalloped circle die cuts to spice it up a bit. I then ran it through my die cut machine.

And this is how it turned out. Kinda cute, huh? (LOL!)
After punching this out, I punched another scalloped circle layer to add to the image as a border. I used the same technique I did with my die cuts except this layer was smaller and thinner. You can see it in the final photo below.

Finally, I put my card together using adhesive and dimensional dots. I also used my sewing machine to stitch around the border of the card. I added ribbon, stamped a few more images (the utencils and the "made with love" decorative stamps from the set) and added them along with buttons to my card.

And there you have it! A card with stamped background paper, a stamped main image, and stamped decorative images! I hope you like this tutorial and decide to incorporate some of these techniques into your next stamping project!

Many Blessings to you and yours!
