Power of Pink Day 2

Throughout the month of October, we will all hear and read stories of victory,
and a few stories of defeat and sorrow...
But most of all, we will read stories of courageous women everywhere
who are full of faith, courage and STRENGTH!
Today, we are so honored to share the stories of the friends and families of our Design Team!

"Remember"
Designer: Debbie Sherman

"Cherish till the end of TIME"
Designer: Francis Sylvia

"Hope... Keep the Faith"
Designer: Irene Tan

"Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend"
Designer: Juliana Michaels
It is a little difficult to read, but I layered the words mother, grandma, sister, daughter, aunt,
cousin and friend alternating the chipboard and acrylic alphas.
Designer Tip: Add alcohol ink to you acrylic letters to give them a bit of color and to help them stand out more.
Emboss your chipboard letters to give them more dimension and a fun bit of texture.
Use a paper piercing tool to the edge of your paper to give it a texture border.

"Live, Laugh, Love"
Designer: Janis Medina
Design Notes: This layout reminds me that I should love myself. Since I know that cancer runs in my family,
I take it upon myself to make sure that I am vaccinated and I live a healthy lifestyle.

"Love is all you Need"
Designer: Luzma Bruna

"Love is all you Need"
Designer: Carole Jansen

"In Remembrance"
Designer: Jolanda Meurs

"Searching for a Cure"
Designer: Tara Orr

 "Faith"
Designer: Tomoko Takahashi
 "Find Strength"
Designer: Tara Orr
TIP: I wanted to keep a very soft tone for this layout and the pinks were a little too punchy.
I simply painted the chipboard swirls as well as my handmade roses and finished with distress stickles.

"Together Forever"
Designer: Janis Medina
Design Notes: While the title of the layout is "Together Forever", it has a double meaning to it.
Inside the envelope is a letter to my Ma who died of cancer.

Journaling: Dear Ma, I'm sorry it took so long for me to accept your death. It's just that somehow
I felt that when your cancer struck, you just gave up, eventhough I'd asked you to fight back for us your kids.

Now that I'm already a wife and a mother, never a day passes without me wishing that you're here to see my family.
They give me so much joy, Ma. How I wish you're here with us to share our happiness.

Do pray for me Ma, that I be the best wife to JE and the best mother to Nat and Phil,
as you were the best for me. Do pray that I be invincible so I can always be with them.

I miss you, Ma.

Design Tips: I used my Tombow Soda Shop Dual Brush Pens in making my own striped patterned paper.
I also used a brush pen to highlight the word "Together" in my Persuasion My Sweet Patterned paper

 "Awareness"
Designer: Patti Milazzo
Tip: To create the peace sign, I punch out a 1 ½” circle, drew the lines on the back
and used Bo Bunny’s Necessities Craft Knife to cut out the wedges inside.

 "Hope"
Designer: Patti Milazzo

 "Peace, Love, Hope"
Designer: Patti Milazzo
Note: My card was inspired by the statistics about Breast Cancer. “About 1 in 8 women in the
United States (between 12 and 13%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.”

"Living my happily ever after"
Designer: Janis Medina
Design Notes: I used my Tombow Soda Shop Dual Brush Pen in outlining my pearls for an added blot of color.
