Doug and Marti Jones opened Scrapbooks, Etc., almost 15 years ago on January 2, 1999.  We have been at 2820 E. University, in Mesa, Arizona ever since.  We are currently in a 10,000 square foot retail store front location.

 

Our main business over the years has been selling scrapbook supplies and our classes.  About four years ago, we decided to bring fabric into the store as well.   Many of our scrapbooking vendors were designing fabric and we thought it was a good fit for us to diversify into this industry also.  In addition to scrapbooking, fabric has done very well.  We feel like we have our own “nitch” in our community. 

 

Because of the fabric being brought in we have changed our name to “Etc.” to encompass all the different things that we carry.  Currently some of our favorite scrapbook companies are Bo Bunny (of course), My Mind’s Eye, Teresa Collins, American Craft, Fancy Pants, Echo Park, WeR, Bazzill Basics Paper and many others.

Misc Me 12x12 by Solange Marques

Misc Me and Mixed Media??!! Yes, it is possible!!! Every person knows that I am crazy about mixed media. I love paints and textures and I use them on all of my projects (layouts, altereds, home decor) then why don't we use them on Misc Me?
 

The BoBunny Journal cards are perfect to this. They have several sizes to small and large pockets. In this project I used some large journal cards and prolongue the photo using paints. I also used BoBunny stamps.
 

I mixed two BoBunny collections: Baby Bump and Our Lil' Monster. I love the colors of these collections.
 

I love photos on the beach. My grandchildren love to play on the sand and on the sea and I take many pictures of them. On Misc Me I can use a lot of these photos.

Baby Bump and Our Lil's Monster has vibrant colors. They are fun and perfect to children's photos!

Monstrous Fun by Ulrika Wandler



These mini albums are perfect! I love them alot! I chose to use this one for old pictures of my two sons. I started off by decorating the front page.



The album is so colorful! I tried to pick out the most colorful pictures of my sons.



I made some of the embellishments myself using a couple of different circle punches and a star punch.




I wrote my journaling on the computer and printed it out and then I cut them in stripes.



I think it's a great way to preserve random pictures putting them in a mini album!

I was so excited to work with the "Our Little Monster" mini album! Our youngest son always seems to make really fun and silly faces whenever the camera comes out, so this was the perfect album to capture them in.

Teacher's Day Gifts by Irene Tan

Teacher's Day is fast approaching and it's the perfect time for me to create some gifts using recycled tins and the "Our Lil' Monster" collection. The monsters are so cute and it could easily make any projects looks fun and happy. I really love the bright and cherry colors in this line.

Monster Decor by Ilene Tell

This collection is so perfect for anything little boy-related. My son Dexter turned 5 not long ago and he loves monsters, so when I showed him this paper collection, he was over the moon. I asked him if he wanted me to make something for his room with the paper, and of course, he did. His only request? That it have "a lot of monsters". He's really into that book, "Where the Wild Things Are" too.

I used one of those cheap, unfinished wood frames from Michael's. To begin, I painted all the edges white. Then I used the paper to cover the frame edge, and inside the frame. At that point, I sanded the edges to give it a smoother appearance. And then... well, I just added LOTS of monsters! This came out as a pretty big project - the inside of the frame is 12x12, plus the outside, it makes for very nice-sized home decor. I just loved how bright and cheerful the papers are, and how cute the monsters are.

I added lots of die-cuts, chipboard, bling, and buttons from the collection, and popped a lot of the elements up with foam adhesive. I also backed some of them with really thick black cardstock, to make them more sturdy and help them stand out. Some of the elements I backed with the red paper to help them "pop" a bit. And the black adhesive pearls were perfect for the monsters' eyes :)
