Christmas Gift Card Holder and Bookmark with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit from Irit Shalom Designs is here today with my second project made with the most adorable and newest Yuletide Carol collection.
This is a totally traditional Christmas collection- colors, designs and sayings .
So I decided to make the totally traditional Christmas Gift card holder/card and to add a lovely interactive bookmark made with the same collection.

As you can see the gift card holder is a standing card and the bookmark is made with the frame and inside moving piece.

I made the front with book shaped dies using different cardstocks and added distressing to the edges as this is a pretty much vintage collection.
The book pages were glued one over another and then embellished with Combo stickers, Layered chipboard, jewels and a couple of BoBunny dies were used to add the interest to this project.

Here you can see all layers of this project when closed:

And this is the " step" that holds this piece standing: made with cardstock, die cuts, stickers and BoBunny die cut sentiment arranged in 5 layers as a " chipboard" piece.

The inside tag is glued on the top and on the bottom , so you can put your cash or your gift card under the tag.

And here is the book mark- the " Joy" part can be used as a separate bookmark too.

 Product list:

Yuletide Carol collection 12'': O Tannenbaum, Presents, Joyous, Carol, Christmas

Yuletide Layered chipboards

Best Day Layout with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit here today with a lovely and sunny baby girl layout made with the new Sunshine Bliss collection.

This collection is so versatile. You can do baby girl pages or projects and you can also use it for bright summer crafts and there are darker green cardstock designs in this collection that are great fit even for some mixed media projects.

This is my adorable grand daughter Netta who was here just 16 months old. She is almost 5 years old now, but these photos are so great to scrap again and again.
I decided to make a baby girl layout just because the photos I used were a great fit for the colors.
I made this layout with cut out photo as the background was out of the color range and made double matting for the cut out photo part with stamps.
The layout is pretty dimensional, but not mixed media kind.

Also I stamped over the background, but it was for more interest, not for making it messy.
I made a double title using this collection's thickers and one single layered chipboard.
I added some journaling with the combo stickers.

I used Vicki Boutin mixed media inks to color the bare chipboards "as is"- just grab the ink over the pieces and let them dry as these inks are pigmented. You can also heat dry the inks or add some clear embossing powder over the ink.

The Noteworthy die cut flowers were embellished with green pearls and more  jewels were added over the layout.

Here you can see all layers of this page, but it's still a flat scrapbooking page that can be kept in a clear pocket.

Thanks for being here with me today and I hope that you like my baby layout as much as I love it.
See you soon again!

SUPER CUTE- A Simple and Easy Mixed Media Layout featuring Summer Mood with Elena

Hello BoBunny Friends,

I've got a new layout to share with you that I made using Summer Mood collection.  This line is          just FULL of bright happy colors, citrus accents, pinwheels and oodles of summery icons.

Layout_Summer_Mood_Elena_Apr_28_01.jpg

It's all about summer.  It's the best,  tasty, lazy and carefree time and I look forward to this season all year! That's why I decided to use the photo of my youngest son while he was enjoying his birthday cake.  The picture coordinates so well with the color story in this paper line.

Layout_Summer_Mood_Elena_Apr_28_02.jpg

To start with I chose the background paper that matches the colors in my photo, and then arrange several layers.

I really love the lemons paper sheet and used it as a main background piece for my photo.

I also drew the lemon on the background page using my acrylic paints.

I thought it would be exciting to show the idea for the card, and the how to's to make it for Easter or for a sweet springtime/gardening themed pop-up card

The Cottontail collection is very cute with sweet colors and gorgeous pattern paper.  Very Vintage-y!

Noteworthy has a lot of cut out parts with scads of flowers and other elements too.

And...... then, for the big reveal, opening the card unfolds the garden in full view!

12 x 12 Shadow Box Layout - 25th Anniversary Gift featuring Black Tie Affair with Ayumi

Hello BoBunny Friends!! It's Ayumi here.

Welcome back to the BoBunny blog today! This time I'll share with you a blocking technique for featuring this new Black Tie Affair collection and the We R Memory Keepers Mini ABC Punch.  This is a Shadow Box Layout insert for her grandparents 25th Anniversary gift.

Beautiful by Ayumi Iwashita

First,  I picked the elements in the cut-outs that I wanted to use and arranged them in kind of a "Tic-Tac-Toe" pattern.  From here I mixed patterns, photos, phrases and frames strategically.  I cut thin strips of black and white striped paper, which works nicely to separate the squares, almost into their own little layouts! Looks stunning in our shadow box frame! This is the basic starting point:

Here is a closer shot of the upper left corner, showing layers and detailing:

. . . and the lower right corner to better see placement of the border stickers, jewels and Noteworty pieces.  Also, to cap off the edges of the page, I trimmed and placed a 1/2" frame from outside edge of the Sophistication 12 x12 paper. I felt like the black edge really tied it all together.

Then, I embellished each of the nine sections, cutting out the frames for the small photos for a distinct layout with nice flow.  I used the Combo stickers, Noteworthy, and lots of Sticky Thumb dimensional foam dots so the black and white elements would really show up well in the shadow box.

Also, used this very useful and versatile too, the We R Mini Alphabet Punch to make numbers.
This punch can also make alphabets, and also works well as a go-to corner rounding tool!

This is my first try with this tool and I'm excited to learn what other things I can can create!

Finally this project is finished!  Well, almost . . .  It just needed touches of shine and sparkle with jewels and layered chipboard.

Thanks for stopping by and see you next time for more fun ideas, techniques and creative inspiration!.

Enjoy your happy day!

Oh BOY! Simple Scrapbooking for Boys featuring Stay Awhile - with Elena

Hello BoBunny Friends,

Welcome to the BoBounny blog today! It's me, Elena here with you today to share this 12 x 12 simple scrapbooking layout I designed and created with the new Stay Awhile collection.

Stay_Awhile_Layout_Elena_March6_01.jpg

My favorite thing about the Stay Awhile collection is the clean lines, tone on tone patterns and of course the deep, cozy colors and homey sentiments. The perfect all-occaision line, it really makes it simple to tell a story in my layout.  I especially love creating BOY themed layouts with this line!

To show how simple and easy it is to create my page, I  haven't used ANY embellishments.  I trimmed and pieced together a few paper layers - mixing patterns, dots and stripes, then cut out a few houses from the paper to give this the look of a countryside village.

Stay_Awhile_Layout_Elena_March6_02.jpg

I started with tearing (purposely kind of uneven and rough) a long strip of green paper and then mixed mostly the cut out cards for my layers.  Then, I trimmed little bits of other accents from the papers too.

I like the deep blue, plum, burnt orange and brown colors this collection has and it's quite easy to create a simple but dynamic look with your project.

To keep my layout simple I decided against adding a full title.  I added only the tab sticker to add the date later.  Wanted to be certain the focus is is on the one photo of this sweet little boy.

For the finishing touches, I added some sticker arrows for an extra splash of color and design!  These little elements are always just right!
