Once Upon A Lifetime Layout with Katherine

Hello BoBunny fans! Katherine here with a new vintage page using Once Upon a Lifetime, complete with a bit of inkiness and stenciling.

I used the Fanciful Stencil and some white gesso to create my base on the brick wall paper called Tradition, and then added some green, orange and brown watercolours over the top.  I then added some stamping in brown using the Take Note stamps.  Once I was happy with my background I went to work on the papers and embellishments.  I used a mix of papers from the 6" paper pad, and also created some corners for my photo from the corners of the Congratulations card die set.

Here you can see the layers of gesso and then watercolour with a little bit of the brown stamping to add to the distressed look and pull out the colours in the papers.

I layered up the rose from the Natural Earth Dahlia collection, teaming it with some laser cut chipboard and also one of the beautiful glittered chipboard pieces.  I created leaves for my rose from the clover Zinnia collection

My title is from one of the stickers and I layered up some lace from the Natural Earth collection and teamed it with a jewel swirl in Chocolate.

I hope it's inspired you to dig out some of your vintage photos or even more modern day ones, I am writing notes with mine to keep my family history safely stored.

Sunday Fun Day: Art Journal pages with Rhonda

Art Journal Pages featuring Serendipity designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel

Art Journal Pages featuring Serendipity Collection by BoBunny and Pentart Stencil Pastes designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel

I have been creating in my art journal now for about a year or so for fun. Every so often I like to create an inspirational couple of pages just for me. The Serendipity collection was perfect for this!

As you can see, I've paired the collection with a few of the new Stencils, Backsplash and Mandala Garden and used Pentart Stencil Pastes in Pearl and Metal.

To prep my pages, I mixed a few Pearlescents and painted the border edges of each page to blend with the selected patterned papers. Some Glimmer Spray splatters along with a bit of stamping was added for texture.

A Foil Transfer heart was applied to the page and I've added a die cut key on top from the Royal dies. I like how it creates a subtle focal point. You can also see the slight shimmer in the Pentart Stencil Paste as well.

I've used a few die cuts and added Double Dot Jewels for accents. Do you like to art journal? I love to used mixed media in mine and add all kinds of bits and pieces. It's such a fun way to create without boundaries.
