 Winter Angel

Designer Tips: This was made with a paper mache tree topper cone. 

To make the wooden head stay on well, I cut the top off to give myself more of a base to adhere it to.

The arms are paper that is draped and glued over two pipe cleaners to help hold it's shape. Give your paper a very light spray of water to shape the curve of the arm and then hide the ends behind the wings on the back. Use hot glue to add the boa to the edges of the 'sleeves'.

To make the floral 'arrangement' that the angel is holding, I adhered everything to a circle of paper and then glued it all at once where her hands would be. The chipboard snowflakes are held to the ribbon by using two that are the same size and sticking them together with the ribbon in between.

Mahlin said: I went shopping for clothes the other day and I realize that there are alot of scrappy -looking flowersbeing popular in fashion right now.. and I got this bright idea to alter my top by myself using the gorgeous trims and petals. I just sewed them on.. Both the trim and the cute petals are so easy so stitch down.

A fun tutorial from our Cute Guest Designer Romy!

Do you know those dull, white frames?
You've got the most amazing picture to put in it,
but the frame just isn't worth it to showcase that wonderful picture you have.

I got that same feeling when I found this ugly frame in my room. I wanted it to be girly and pretty, so that it would fit in my nieces room perfectly. I had a lot of fun altering this frame and would love to give you a look 'behind the scenes' and share this little tutorial with you about how you altered it.

1) I started with covering up the white edges of my frame with the Crush rub-ons. They were the perfect size to fit on my frame.

2) I also wanted to use some pretty flowers on my frame and attached this large pink petal to the upper right corner of my frame, using Tacky Glue.

3) To create my own handmade flower I took a part of a Bo Bunny wrap.

4) I stitched the edges of it together, so that I got this 'circle'. As you can see one side of the flower (the one that the stitches are in) looks pretty ugly...

5) But that is no problem at all, as you can see on the picture above. I just placed that ugly side of the flower under the large pink petal. Nobody will get to see it anymore, LOL! As a finishing touch I added a brad to the center of the flower.

6) After putting these two flowers on my frame, I took the flower, that comes with one of the Bo Bunny wraps. I cut the tulle backing away and then placed it under the two other flowers.

7) I also took three flowers and four hearts from the Crazy in Love chipboard sheet and attached them to my frame as well.

8) I love a bit of glitter on my projects and couldn't resist giving the chipboard shapes a shiny feel using Stickles (glitter) and Liquid Pearls.

9) I used Stickles on the edges of this small flower as well.

10) And this is what my frame looked like in the end. Pink and girly and a perfect way to showcase this picture of my niece and aunt.
