I am here to share with you how I created this simple but effective background on this card.

Lets start by gathering up our supplies, I used papers from the Garden Journal Collection along with the Butterflies stickable stencil and the new Flutter Stamp set. Other supplies needed are a palette knife (or similar for spreading the Pearlescents) paintbrushes and a Journaling pen.

Cut a piece Gratitude paper slightly smaller than the size of your card blank. Lay the stencil down the centre of your patterned paper, don't worry if some is overlapping the top and bottom.

Squeeze some of the graphite Pearlescents onto your palette knife and drag across the stencil to give a border of approximately an inch, allow to dry for about 20 - 30 seconds and lift off your stencil. Wash off your stencil and when you are done your background should be dry.

Make sure your stencil is dry and then lay back down on your patterned paper as close a match as you can (it doesn't have to be exact), draw around the stencil with your journaling pen and take the stencil off and place back on its protective sheet.

Use a brush to paint Coral Pearlescents over the butterfly part of your card, after this is dry then paint some Sugar Glitter paste over the top of that for some sparkle.

Stamp onto card stock one of the butterflies from the Flutter Stamp Set paint with Coral and Island Mist Pearlescents then cut out. Adhere to the front of your card.

Mount the patterned paper onto a dark cardstock, I used Charcoal Chevron Double Dot, add a sentiment if you wish, then mount the whole thing onto your card blank and your card is complete.
