Hi and welcome to our One Layout Three Ways - I'm taking you from a really clean and simple, white space type layout all the way to a mixed media layout - so I hope there is something for everyone to enjoy. I've used the Down by the Sea papers and a beach photo, focusing on pinks.
Katherine Sutton - Beach
Here is my finished page, but let me take you back a few steps to show you how it got to this.
I started with Lagoon as my backing paper - it has a lovely distressed feel to it already and then used a mix of Coral and Down by the Sea to back my photo and journal spot. I added the picture this viewfinder die and a cloud from the picnic die set. The shell and flag are from the Noteworthy collection and the title is from the chipboard.
In my second version I started to add some paint. I started with a lace stickable stencil and 3D paste and covered an area around my photo - I did it really roughly so it looked distressed. I then added some Pink and Antique gold Pentart Creamy Acrylic with white gesso over the top - I created little areas of gold and and darker areas of pink. Once this had dried I used the gold ink with one of the Take Note stamps. I also started to distress the edges of my papers.
For my final version I distressed and turned up the corners of the Lagoon paper, and backed the whole page with the Dusty Pink Double Dot. I then added muslin, shells, 3D balls and lots of the same Pentart acrylics, along with a little bit of the Rich Gold glamour paint - this has lots more shine to it than the acrylic gold, so it shines from the page a little more. I also added a few more embellishments in the shape of a hand-cut seahorse and one of the layered chipboard pieces that says Beautiful. To finish it off I added some flicks of the gold glamour paste around the page.
I distressed and tore the edges of my base paper, pinning it back with one of the aqua brads, then I filled underneath with shells and 3D balls, you can see the mix of pink, gold and rich gold glamour paints.
You can see the layers of Noteworthy and Chipboard and all the paints.
I added some of the rich gold glamour paint to my die cuts, the flicks of paint have a gorgeous golden shine.
