"My SUN"-a mini book

Hi there, it's Angela here and I'm very proud to be with you for another year of fun and crafts!
My project today is a mini album dedicated to my son Francesco and I've chosen the BoBunny Down by the Sea collection because it has lots of blueish colors, perfect for a boy project.

My Sun Mini Album by Angela Tombari using BoBunny Down by the Sea Collection

It's basically a one sheet mini album, , yes just one sheet of paper and bunches of little bits and pieces to make up the embellishment on the album.

Particularly, I've taken the 12 x 12 Down by the Sea Cardstock, cut it into 3 stripes of 4 inches height and scored each stripe at 4 inches again.

I folded each stripe like an accordion and glued them back to back.

It was a pity to waist the inner parts of the cardstock, so I fussy cut all the mermaids and I ended up with a bunch of them. I didn't want to use them for a boy theme, but I will incorporate them in future projects for sure!

Then, I made the cover with a strip of acetate wrapped around the mini.

On the front I sewed a beautiful button and a gold elastic on the back. Inside the elastic I put a charm made of a couple of shells, something I found in my stash, that helps opening and closing the mini.

Many of the pages are embellished with BoBunny Gold Pearlescent around the wreaths. That gives a precious effect to the photo and lights up the project with a beautiful visual effect.

To give variety to the mini I filled in some of the pages with embellishments as you can see above.

I also included a 'shaker page' filled in with gold and aqua sequins.

I leave you with a short video where you can see a walk-through of the entire album.

If you like my project, please leave me a comment down below and thanks so much for stopping by.

Love,
Angela

One Layout Three Ways with Down by the Sea and Katherine

Hi and welcome to our One Layout Three Ways - I'm taking you from a really clean and simple, white space type layout all the way to a mixed media layout - so I hope there is something for everyone to enjoy.  I've used the Down by the Sea papers and a beach photo, focusing on pinks.

Katherine Sutton - Beach

Here is my finished page, but let me take you back a few steps to show you how it got to this.

I started with Lagoon as my backing paper - it has a lovely distressed feel to it already and then used a mix of Coral and Down by the Sea to back my photo and journal spot.  I added the picture this viewfinder die and a cloud from the picnic die set.  The shell and flag are from the Noteworthy collection and the title is from the chipboard.

In my second version I started to add some paint.  I started with a lace stickable stencil and 3D paste and covered an area around my photo - I did it really roughly so it looked distressed.  I then added some Pink and Antique gold Pentart Creamy Acrylic with white gesso over the top - I created little areas of gold and and darker areas of pink.  Once this had dried I used the gold ink with one of the Take Note stamps.  I also started to distress the edges of my papers.

For my final version I distressed and turned up the corners of the Lagoon paper, and backed the whole page with the Dusty Pink Double Dot.  I then added muslin, shells, 3D balls and lots of the same Pentart acrylics, along with a little bit of the Rich Gold glamour paint - this has lots more shine to it than the acrylic gold, so it shines from the page a little more.  I also added a few more embellishments in the shape of a hand-cut seahorse and one of the layered chipboard pieces that says Beautiful.  To finish it off I added some flicks of the gold glamour paste around the page.

I distressed and tore the edges of my base paper, pinning it back with one of the aqua brads, then I filled underneath with shells and 3D balls, you can see the mix of pink, gold and rich gold glamour paints.

You can see the layers of Noteworthy and Chipboard and all the paints.

I added some of the rich gold glamour paint to my die cuts, the flicks of paint have a gorgeous golden shine.

Mixed Media Travel Journal with Rhonda

Rhonda

Monday greetings to you! It's time for a bit of fun with Mixed Media today. I've created a Travel Journal featuring the Down By The Sea collection.

BoBunny Travel Journal featuring Down By The Sea designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel

This travel journal features Gold Confetti Paste, Stamping, Stencils with Silver Glitter Paste, Pearlescents and some Pentart 3D Balls make an appearance as well. The coordinating accents include Chipboard, Noteworthy and some of the DoubleDot Jewels for accent.

I love the subtle sparkle that the Gold Confetti Paste adds. I also stamped lightly and then splattered a touch of Gold Glimmer Spray. To color the Pentart 3D Balls, they were placed into a small zipper plastic baggie, added a tiny amount of Chocolate and Sugar Pearlescents and rolled them until I had the color I wanted. I then laid them out to dry.

The finishing touches were some drops of Pearlescents added here and there to create more texture. They were also placed into the cheese cloth. I hope you've enjoyed my little travel journal.

Sunday Funday Mermaid Party with Ginny

Happy Sunday Funday BoBunny Peeps! I'm dropping in to share some party inspired projects with the fabulous Down By The Sea Collection. I was thinking to myself what would be more fun than a mermaid party? Obviously a party with these awesome mermaid wands and a crown. So I channeled the five year old in me and created these whimsical accessories.

Mermaid Party Crown and Wands by Ginny Nemchak using BoBunny Down By The Sea Collection and Pentart Supplies
The mermaids were the focal images so I added them to all the pieces.

Who doesn't want to wear a crown on their Birthday? For this I simply cut (2)  6 x 12 inch strips then joined them on one end and cut a scallop at the top. After deciding what would be a good fit for a small persons head I joined the other side to create the crown.  I accented the top simply by dipping my finger in some Brilliant Blue Pearlescents and just ran it around the front and back. Next came the mermaid image and sentiment then it was topped off with coordinating BoBunny Blossoms and Double Dot Jewels.  Last but not least some eyelash trim to give the impression of netting.

These mermaid wands are for the guests to enjoy and have matching images as the crown.  The patterned papers are cut and stacked with foam spacers between the layers. The edges were finished like the crown by finger painting with Pearlescents. I colored some Pentart 3D Powder with more of the Brilliant Blue then adhered it to the bottom of the top circle. Once dry I dabbed some Gold and Caribbean Glitter Paste to accent it and give the illusion of water. More of the eyelash trim was wound around and secured.  I created fun accents for the wands by trimming thin strips of the paper and winding them around a pen to create spirals then tucked them in behind the top circle.  It's topped off with a shimmery ribbon bow and flowers that were finished with more of the Glitter Paste.

For the handle of the wand I used straws that already had a stripe and just embellished it with more of the Brilliant Blue and Gold Glitter. This did take a little patience....but well worth the happy smiles for some cute kiddos when they get to be mermaids for the day : )

Okay that's all for me. Wishing everyone a happy and productive day : ) G

One Layout Three Ways-Down by the Sea and Elena O.

Hello BoBunny Friends,

It's Elena here today and I've got a fun nautical layout to share with you today along with three ways to create it.

Wild & Free Scrapbook Page by Elena Olinevich using BoBunny Down By the Sea Collection

First I started with making some fussy cutting from the papers of Down by the Sea collection.

I cut out the frame, the mermaid tail in the waves and the mermaid itself

Wild & Free Scrapbook Page by Elena Olinevich using BoBunny Down By the Sea Collection

I wanted to keep the first layout simple and clean.

Wild & Free Scrapbook Page by Elena Olinevich using BoBunny Down By the Sea Collection

After I added more of embellishments, it started to look more detailed.

Wild & Free Scrapbook Page by Elena Olinevich using BoBunny Down By the Sea Collection

However I kept the sketch I followed initially and only added the layers behind the main clusters.

Next step was to add some mixed media techniques

Wild & Free Scrapbook Page by Elena Olinevich using BoBunny Down By the Sea Collection

I added the waves applying the paste through the Stickable Stencil

Wild & Free Scrapbook Page by Elena Olinevich using BoBunny Down By the Sea Collection

I also added the glitter paste and confetti paste since it really looks the mermaid's scales.

After those steps, the colors look more vibrant.

Here is the third version for you to enjoy!
