Summer Tales Layout with Elisa

Hi everyone!!!

I'm so happy these days because it's July!  And July is my month!! Ok yes, the weather is hot. But, I love summer and I love to celebrate it everyday!

I started thinking..on summer every trip, every walk, every coffee with friends.. they could all become a tale! This is way I decided to use the first pictures of this month to create a LO entitled Summer Tales!

I used the BoBunny Celebrating Freedom collection and I had a lot of fun with the pictures. I didn't want to use their real color and was searching for a vintage look, so I applied a 50% Black & White Mask before stamping them. Since my images were vintage, I wanted a funny background to pair them with! So, I thought about something that could seem a watermelon.

To create the watermelon effect, I chose the Damask Double Dot Dusty Rose Cardstock and the Watermelon Paper by Celebrate Freedom to assemble my watermelon background. For the black seeds I decided so stamp some little flowers here and there in the center of some dots in the dusty rose cardstock.

And now let me show you some pictures of the details:

Near the main picture, I used the bigger embellishment. The two pinwheels (of course in pink and green) and some embossed flowers made with Simply Flowers Stamp Set.

On the other side, I used a pick butterfly, a little red flower, and a a red resin star.
Behind the pictures I created some layers using the "Celebrating Freedom" and the "Happy" 12x12 papers.

Of course I also used some of the Noteworthy Flowers (I cut a branch of flowers into single ones) and the little glittered dots you see are in the Celebrating Freedom Thicker Alpha.

For the title I used two Thicker Alpha: Celebrating Freedom (red glittered) and Sweet Clementine (pink with red foiled center).
Scrapbooking Tip: I really love writing my journaling with a gray pen. Black is really too strong and I don't love it on my LO.

Thanks for following along! Until next time,

Early Bird Tea Time Greeting Cards with Ginny

Hello there crafty friends and BoBunny fans! I'm really excited to share my first project with  Early Bird. This collection is full of sweet florals, vintagy images, and loads of cut aparts.  This time of year I really think we need spring inspired collections to ease the transition between seasons. Winter is over thankfully but the Summer holidays are still not quite here yet.

I've created 2 cards with a similar but different look since I had the collection out and all the fun embellishments.

I feel like this is going to be my favorite color combination this year. Soft blues and greens look so dreamy when layered up and mixed with florals.

I do have so much fun pulling out the patterns papers and making just the right combinations.

Incorporating the Noteworthy elements and stickers means you can layer to your hearts content.

Adding a border of coordinating cardstock matting helps to keep the patterns from looking busy.

Spacers between the layers adds loads of depth and also gives the cards a nice weighty feel.

These cards are basically the same but with a slightly different base layer, and patterned papers. Might as well make two if you have the collections out right?

To add a little different style to this card I turned it on it's side and added 2 bows topped with twine and Double Dot Brads,

Don't forget you can add spacers to the backs of the CardStock Stickers too so they will be a dimensional accent.

To ensure that more of the beautiful doily cut from crisp white cardstock and the Mandala die was visible I clipped it in half so I could push them to the edges of the card ensuring that they won't be covered by the following layers.

I love to add a little bling to my projects and the Double Dot Jewels are always a perfect match!

Please enjoy this short video tutorial of how I created the Tea Time card.....

I hope you enjoyed viewing these cards as much as I did creating them : ) Wishing everyone a happy and productive day : ) Ginny
