A Season For....Mixed Media!

Good Morning! This week we are featuring the Foil Rubons. I loved playing with them. Making a mixed media canvas is such fun. What I love most is anything goes! You can play with glimmer paste, stencils, anything at all! I started off with a base coat of paint, then started laying down the stencils and covering them with the glitter paste. After that dried, I fussy cut some of the clocks from the patterned paper and picked a few of the Noteworthy pieces to add some dimension. I played a little with where I wanted the quote to go and after everything was set, I took the Gold Foil Rubons, and placed them here and there.. that's the fun! Sideways, straight, it doesn't matter!

You'll Flip For This Mini Flip Album!

 Hey there BoBunny Fans!!! I have created a little flip mini album using the gorgeous Juliet collection, and incorporating Misc Me journaling cards. Misc Me can be used for just about any BoBunny project from cards, to tags, layouts and even mini albums. Your imagination is your guide.  I added touches of gold for extra glamour and shimmer.

 Here is a closeup of the front cover. I layered the journaling cards, then added the layered chipboard on top. I cut the laser cut butterfly in half, sprayed it with Bobunny bronze spray, finger painted some gold glitter paste on it then sprayed it with Bobunny Gold spray. I added some Mocha jewels and used some Gold Foil rub-ons as well. The cover just shimmers and sparkles.

 This is one of 6 pages I did for the flip album. I used  the larger journaling cards and die cut some ATC cards from them. The title on the card is a sticker backed by light weight chip board.

 

For the last page in the flip album, I used the mid sized journaling cards and created a little waterfall feature.  There is plenty of room for photos or journaling.

The pages were all adhered to corrugated cardboard. You could use chip board, but I love the raw edge of the corrugated cardboard. It gives this flip album a little bit of a rustic feel. It is also very sturdy. I tied couple of ribbon bows to the book rings that hold the flip album together.

Elegance With Foil Rubons!

Hello everyone! The Garden Journal Collection is the perfect collection to create a mini album for the gardener, to display the wonders of a floral garden. The Gold Alphabet gives the album the old world richness of leather covered books embossed in gold. The Gold Alphabet rub-ons allowed me to create that look.

 The  gold rub-ons are so rich that they look like gold leaf embedded in the paper. They are so easy to use and rub on with perfection. To enhance the gold, I created a jeweled closure using gold jewelry finds and seam binding, that were strung  through pink wide eyelets that were set in the cover. I also edged the album with Gold glitter paste.

No garden is complete without butterflies. On the back of the album, I used modeling paste with the stencils doing floral corners and the 3 smallest butterflies down the middle.

On the inside of the album there are 6 large envelope/sleeve pages that each contain a journaling card that slips into the sleeve. On a few of the pages as in this one, there is a pocket on the sleeve itself that holds tags and additional cards. I used the Gold rub-ons to spell the word "flowers." The gold throughout the album is a little treat to add to the elegance.

This is a closeup of one of the cards in the album that feature the Gold rub-ons. 

 

These are 2 of the 6 cards that were pulled from the sleeves. The lined pattern on the Delight paper was perfect  as you can use these cards to journal on. The opposite side of the cards have patterned paper and plenty of room for photos. They slide easily back into the sleeves.

The top of each fold on the cards I placed a button. Once the button was adhered to the fold, I used my Cropodile to punch a holes over the existing holes and placed  a piece of string through and tied a bow.

Altered Awesomeness!

Hi There BoBunny Fans :)

Today I wanted to share an altered project with you that uses two of my favourite things to scrap with, rubons and butterflies :)

Rubons are making a come back - I was so excited to see these because when I first started scrapbooking they were my favourite thing! - and BoBunny have gone one step further and created some stunning Gold and Silver ones!!  I've used the silver ones to decorate my globe and create a bit of interest in the amongst the flight of my butterflies ;)

Here you can see how I've mixed script rubons with keys and large words to create a collage effect, with butterflies in amongst it.

What I love about them is that they look dimensional when you rub them  on - they actually look like you have embossed them with silver embossing powder.  Very clever!!  And they rub on easily too!

Along the bottom of my globe I have adhered some of the new alphabet stickers. the verse reads "Not All Who Wander Are Lost."

Give them a go you will not be disappointed!

Hello everyone! It's time for me to share another 8 x 9 Misc Me project with you all. I've altered another gorgeous foil binder for these Misc Me Pages.

I've used the "Sweet Life" collection for today's project. My assignment for today's post is to showcase the used of silver foil rub-ons. On my binder, I've used a silver stitches foil rub-on on it's left edges. And to create the smaller butterfly, I've applied a butterfly rub-on on the pattern paper and later cut it out. I've decorate it with jewels.

Above are some pages in this binder. I've used three page protectors and a piece of vintage note paper.

On the above pages, I've used foil rub-ons to add details on each pocket and the note paper. The best thing about using rub-ons is that, you are able to apply them onto paper and any other surfaces such as the plastic page protectors. In the picture above and below, I've applied the rub-on onto the page protectors and detail them with pearlescent and jewels.

Practically Perfect Teacher Gift!

Hello BoBunny Fans! Today I am sharing a teachers gift I created my daughters 3rd grade teacher. My daughter loves her so much I wanted to do something special. This tag has a pocket with a Kraft envelope and I've included some seed packets. I'll throw in some garden gloves and little pots and hope it makes her smile!

I used the Garden Journal collection and the Alphabet Gold Foil Rub Ons. I love how the gold rub ons look against the white tag with a little brown ink for distressing. These rub ons are the best I have ever used! So easy and they come off beautifully! I created a video tutorial to show you how I put this tag together. You could use the pocket for a gift card as well. I know I like to drink coffee so a coffee card would work for me. ;)

I used the new Flutter Dies for my butterfly embellishment. Did I mention how much I love the new dies?

Fabulous Foil Rubons! A Must Have!!

Hello Friends! I was so excited to be assigned the new Silver Filigree Metallic Rubons as a featured item for my project today!

 I absolutely love the  rubons and the way they add so much to your page without adding a ton of bulk.  The shimmer of these is simply fantastic!

I used the Love sentiment onto my photo, the Flourishes are to the left of my layers and the Doily on right right corner are from the Filagree Silver Foil pack. 

My layers start with some stamping first using Distressed Textures on my background paper with Licorice Ink. Next is a scalloped rectangle Noteworthy element followed by the Film Tape from Rose Cafe. Next, is a piece of corrugated cardboard that I peeled, then added some Pearlescents in Silver, Blush and Brilliant Blue. While that was drying, I used my Love Stickable Stencils along with Glitter Paste in Sugar. I cut a border from the Elegant Border Die and trimmed to 3 sections long, then layered it under the cardboard and stitched into place.

Using my coordinating 6x6 Garden Journal Paper Pad, I cut the papers using the 4x4 Portrait Frame Dies and adhered the layers to one another. Cut it in half, then adhered to my matted photo from behind. Attached some cheese cloth to my photo layer from behind, then attached foam squares to provide a bit of dimension.

With the remaining section from the border die cut, I folded it in half and glued it together.  I used it as the heart accent in the upper left on the Noteworthy tag banner and added a pearl Jewel to it. A few Blossoms, Jewel Flourishes and a Brad finish the page.

Magnificent Metallic Binders!

Happy Monday friends! With my love of all things gold and polka-dot, it's a no-brainer that I am in LOVE with this new metallic Misc Me binder from BoBunny.

Quail Cove Metallic Binder by Keri Babbitt

The new metallic binder and envelope collection has gorgeous metallic embossing, and elegant new details like canvas binding, a nameplate on the spine, and gilded corner brackets on the cover. Yum!  I decked my binder cover out with new foil rubons, film stickers, chipboard, and Pearlescent-masked butterflies.

Since this binder documents our new home renovation adventure, the envelopes are the perfect place for before-and-after lists, photos, and even ephemera like pieces of the old-fashioned wallpaper and a "vintage" pokemon card the kids found in the stairwell.

The next new product I am over-the-moon about is the new Misc Me pocket squares.  The variety pack comes with three different sizes of squares, and they are double-sided and adorable for slipping right into the new page protectors.  Easy and so cute!

Finally, be still my heart, BoBunny now offers gorgeous, intricate dies - just look at the detail below on the fuchsia butterflies! Love at first sight.

Paired with the gold foil rubons, they add such delicate dimension and texture to my project.  I cannot wait to continue creating with all the new products from BoBunny - oh, the possibilities!
