1 Layout 3 Ways With Provence!

Hi!

Today I would like to show you three versions of a lay-out that I made with the beautiful Bo Bunny Provence collection and the pretty Nested Fancy Frames dies. I always love to incorporate lots of layers and details in my lay-outs and figured it might be nice to show you step by step how I do this.

Let's start off by showing you the final version of my lay-out.

Now I will start explaining each step separately, to give you an idea of how I do all my layering.

The first, simplest version of my lay-out looks like this. I attached my photo on top of several layers of paper and a doily and then embellished my lay-out with some chipboard embellishments and fussy cut clocks. I also added some butterflies in the corners of my lay-out, which I made with ink and the 'Cascade' Stickable Stencil.

On the second version of my lay-out, I included a few extra clocks and added the chipboard piece with birds in the corner of my lay-out. I actually stapled this chipboard piece onto another chipboard sticker to give it more dimension.

On the third and final version of my lay-out, I used the gorgeous Nested Fancy Frames dies to add a title in the left lower corner of my lay-out. I cut out three frames with this die set and stapled them on top of each other to create a backdrop for the 'Fantastic' chipboard text. I also added some metallic foil rub-ons and pearls on this version of my lay-out to really finish it off.

Let's have a closer look at some details on my lay-out. The photo below gives you a peek at how I used the frame dies on my lay-out to create a backdrop for my title.

On the image below you can see some of the layering of clocks, papers and chipboard pieces that I did. I always love attaching different embellishments on top of each other to create more depth.

This close-up photo offers a closer look at the banner that I used. As you can see, I adhered a Layered Chipboard banner on top of a non-dimensional chipboard banner. In order to cover the letters on the plain chipboard banner, I attached some chipboard circles on top of it.

December Blog Sketch Challenge

Good Morning! It's Blog Sketch Challenge time! I had this photo of my daughter and her friend from a birthday trip they took to Cabo, and was so excited to use it. Doesn't the December sketch look like fun? So many layers and places for embellishments!

Love You A Bunch by Lynn Shokoples

Love You A Bunch December Sketch Challenge layout by Lynn Shokoples for BoBunny featuring the Provence Collection and Celebrate Laser Cut Chipboard

I chose to use the Provence Collection and a Happy Birthday piece from the Celebrate Laser Cut Chipboard Pack. Chipboard is so fun to play with because there is so many things you can do with it. Below I've shared a few photos of how I altered the Chipboard.

The first thing I did was take some Butterscotch Pearlescent and dabbed it onto the chipboard.

The second step was to add some blue. So out came the Frost Glitter Paste! Don't you just love glitter?

Well, if we are going for glimmer, I just couldn't resist a spray or two of the Frost Glimmer Spray.

I just had to add a little Copper Glitter Paste to add some dimension!

Is there ever enough glimmer and glitter? How about just a dab of the Copper Glitter Paste on the small doilies! Then it was time to put the layout together. For the layout I used one sheet of the 12x12 patterned paper, and the rest of the strips came from the 6x6 paper pad. Finishing off with some buttons and Noteworthy, the sketch was done! I can't wait to see what everyone does with the sketch! Have a wonderful day and thanks for joining me today.

1 Layout 3 Ways!

Layouts.  They can be as simple or as complicated as you wish to make them and today I have one to show you that does just that :)

Fantastic Memory Layout 3 Ways by Megan Gourlay for BoBunny using Provence

Firstly I gathered the papers I wanted to use and them the embellishments that would match, and then started playing with how I wanted them all to flow across the page.  For this page I kept it simple - I just created layer upon layer, with the photo popped up on chipboard to provide a bit of dimension instead of being completely flat.

For the second stage I inked the edges of all the layers, defining them more and making them pop out from the page.  I stamped around the edge with the Stitches stamp as well, and then added brads and chipboard stickers to give even more layers.

The third stage was so much fun!  I haphazardly painted pearlescents over the background - I love how you don't have to wait for this dry! - and then randomly stamped my background.  Distressed muslin was then added to finish it off.

The Memory word is part of the new laser cut chipboard range.  To give that two toned effect I have first painted it with gesso and then two coats of pearlescents.  Lastly I inked the bottom half of the word with black ink to help it stand out more form the chipboard sticker underneath.

A Season For....Mixed Media!

To Everything There is a Season by Lynn Shokoples

To Everything There is a Season Altered Canvas by Lynn Shokoples for BoBunny featuring Foil Transfers and the Provence Collection

Good Morning! This week we are featuring the Foil Rubons. I loved playing with them. Making a mixed media canvas is such fun. What I love most is anything goes! You can play with glimmer paste, stencils, anything at all! I started off with a base coat of paint, then started laying down the stencils and covering them with the glitter paste. After that dried, I fussy cut some of the clocks from the patterned paper and picked a few of the Noteworthy pieces to add some dimension. I played a little with where I wanted the quote to go and after everything was set, I took the Gold Foil Rubons, and placed them here and there.. that's the fun! Sideways, straight, it doesn't matter!

Thanks so much for joining me today.

More Simple Abundance With Misc Me!

Hello BoBunny Fans! It's Denise here today, to share some more of "My Simple Abundance" Misc. Me spreads with you.

Misc. Me Spread by Denise van Deventer using the Misc. Me Provence Collection

I haven't yet completed my summary for September because I wanted to wait and see what the highlights were and then will use those for the summary.

I did a little bit of gesso stencilling on this card and also used stamps to add some flavour and decoration.  Stamps are the perfect way to add decoration, without the bulk.

Here's the reverse side of the spread.

I again used stamps to add to this card.

I wrote a little tale for this spread and I know that Joe won't forget this easily! ;-)

Misc Me Simple Abundance

Hello Everyone! It's Denise here today, to share some Misc. Me Mixed Media spreads with you.

I had certainly done some Misc. Me projects previously but I had not really got into the daily documenting of life. However, recently I read the terribly sad, yet inspiring post by Heidi Swapp, "My Heart...Cory's Story".  It was in this post, that she stressed the importance of documenting those everyday moments.  It really got me thinking and she also challenged everyone to documenting 30 days.

To be honest, I really don't think that I will document every single day, but I am decided and determined to keep documenting and to record those everyday moments. It may not be every day but it will be most days.

I also really thought about what I wanted to call this "document" and I decided upon "My Simple Abundance". I had previously read and loved "Simple Abundance" by Sarah Ban Breathnach and while creating my Misc. Me spreads I really came to see and appreciate my blessings, in this very graphic form. So this is really my 'graphic" version of keeping an Abundance Journal.

Firstly, here's the cover.

Misc. Me Album Cover by Denise van Deventer using BoBunny Provence Collection

I did some gesso and crackle paste for some of the elements and then added some fussy cut elements, along with some stamping.  I used Distress Inks to colour the gesso elements.

Here's the first spread.

Again, I used inks, stencils and some crackle paste for the mixed media effects.

Here's the flip side of the spread.

The stickable stencils work like a charm on these cards.

I then also added some crackle effects again too.

I really did have fun creating these spreads and I have created many more.  So it didn't stop there!

I think that's an important thing too. If you are having fun, then creating is easy!

So perhaps I can challenge you to start "documenting" your Abundance?

Let us know how you get on.

Have a blessed and super day!

Hi everyone, here is Solange Marques and today I'll share with you a layout using the new collection Provence and Rough it up Stamp.

I prolonged my photo using modeling paste, acrylic gesso and acrylic paints and I used the crackle from Rough it up Stamp around it and then I added fussy cutting from Provence collection.

I love to add texture on my projects and this stamp is perfect for this.

Loving Life with Mixed Media!

Hello Everyone!

It's Denise here today and I am sharing a mixed media project, an altered book canvas - Loving Life.

Altered Book Canvas by Denise van Deventer using BoBunny Provence Collection

I took an old book, which I opened up and then adhered to the canvas.  I then used lots of gesso and covered the book and canvas, to keep it all nicely in place. I did not gesso over all the writing as I wanted some of it to show through.  I then added lots of ink and stamping to give it an aged and French Country look.

Here you can get an idea of how the gesso keeps the pages nicely in place and here's also a look at the quote on this book - "I have found that if you love life, life will love you back".

The 3 pink flowers I actually made.  The large pink one was made from layers of BoBunny petals and the 2 smaller ones, I layered die-cut flowers from patterned papers.  These layers were then spritzed with water, scrunched up and allowed to dry.  Once dried, they were carefully unfolded and opened.

I used a gorgeous heart laser chipboard and also did lots of fussy cutting for the various elements and layering.

I am absolutely in love with this Provence Collection and I absolutely love the French Country look.

I have lots of dreams and plans to convert my kitchen and dining room into French Country styling and this little piece has certainly fueled my energies to get going with it.

This "Loving Life" will certainly have it's place in my "little piece of French Heaven"!

Have a super day!
