Designer Tip: One of my favorite things to do is to cut embellishments from the patterned paper. Here you can see the little schoolhouse and kids playing that add a homey little touch to the page and they coordinate well with the chipboard pieces. I also cut out a strip from the Recess (blue and green diamond) paper, used it as a mask for misting in a couple of spots on the page and then used that as another accent on the page. If your alphabet stickers don't stand out from the background as well as you'd like simply color them in with a marker as I've done with a black Copic pen here.

BoBunny Fan Spotlight

Today we are going to spotlight one of you!
Lets here it for...
Ilene Tell!

Now, lets get to know Ilene...

I was born in Russia, and I came to USA when I was 10 years old.
I now live in DE, on the border with PA.
I have been with my husband for almost 15 years and
we have two adorable kids - a girl and a boy.

I love being able to scrap boy layouts, as well as girl layouts!
I love how scrapbooking adds so much to my life and
is such a wonderful creative outlet.
I couldn't live without doing something creative and
artistic on a regular basis and scrapbooking gives me that
plus the excuse to shop...A LOT!

I started scrapbooking in 2004, when my daughter was a few months old.
I had tons of pictures that were too cute to just
stick in a photo album and put away somewhere.

Mini albums were my first love - it's what I started out with,
and I still love to make those. I can't go too long without doing one.
In the past year or so, I've gotten to love regular 12"x12"
layouts as well. Nowadays, I alternate between minis and layouts.

What is my favorite BoBunny Collection???  Oh gosh, that's a tough one!!
I've loved so many over the years, and Bo Bunny was the first
brand name pp I bought online when I started scrapbooking
almost 6 years ago. But I have to say, I have a special love for all the
"swirly" Bo Bunny paper. Beau Jardin was gorgeous.
Snowy Serenade is probably my favorite pp line of all time, EVER.
And recently, I really love Peacock Lane - it's swirly AND purple,
how can I resist!! And the brand new Cambridge pp is gorgeous
as well...as is Old School.
See - I could go on forever about Bo Bunny pp!

What inspires Me? Many things - my kids first and foremost,
our vacations, everyday little things. And of course, beautiful pp!

Whats my favorite movie?  Whose my favorite band?
I would have to say my absolute favorite movie is Beetlejuice....
I've loved it for a long time! More recently,
I thought the Lord of the Rings trilogy was outstanding.
And....don't hate me!....Bruno was hysterical :)

Illene, thank you so much for letting us get to know you
and sharing your beautiful family and projects with us.
And of course, thank you for being one of our readers!

Make sure to leave a comment and share the love with Ilene!
Ever wonder how you can become a BoBunny spotlight?
It's simple.  Email us what you are creating with our products.
We love to show off your work on our
facebook page, or here on our blog.

Quickie Cards Using Cut Outs

One of my favorite Bo Bunny products is the fabulous sheet of cardstock cut outs that comes with each line. There are so many different ways you can use them in scrapbooking your layouts. But one thing that excites me also being the cardmaker that I am is the instant card possibilities using these cut outs. They already have a layered effect to them so it "looks" like you did the extra work but you didn't. Some of them also come with sentiments already printed right on them. Perfect for cards!!! I created these 5 cards in only an hour using a cutout as the core of the card then adding ribbon, buttons, stickers or rub-ons to complete them. Have a look!

This is Olivia's cardstock cut outs. I trimmed the middle piece (cut out) along the orange border, inked the edges a bit then adhered it to the Almond Dot base. Then I added a "Grateful Heart" sticker using pop-dots. Last I inked the edges of the card, added some linework then created a button border down the side. Super Quick card!

For this one I trimmed out the four squares cutout and mounted it on white before adhering it to my card base. Then I added a chipboard sticker using a pop-dot. I love dimension! Last I added the trim and rub-on. Easy peasy!!!

With this Cambridge cut out sheet I just had to create a 6 x 6 inch card so I could use one of the larger squares. I love the layers that are already created so it looks like you've put extra time into it! With this one I added the Crown square to my card base then added a sticker, ribbon, and bling. Done and Done!

How fun are these Whoo-ligans cut outs? This card was also a snap! All I did was trim the cut-out and adhere it to the card base after wrapping some ribbon around it. Last I added the "Batty for Candy" sticker. YUM!

For this card I cut out the library card and "the best teachers" cut outs. With a little inking along the edges and layering them using pop-dots this adds more interest. Add the red ric rac ribbon down the side adhering with staples, glue down the cut outs, then add the button.
Cards tend to intimidate some people but they don't have to be time consuming or super involved at all if you have the right tools and ideas. There are quite a few cut outs that come on these 12 x 12 sheets so you can get several different cards out of one. Love them!
Happy quickie card making!
