Marvelous Madeleine mixed media cards!

Mixed Media plus Madeleine equals Magic! You can't go wrong with these beauties!

Hi, BoBunny Fans! It's Maria Potapovich (mellpellmell) here for you today.

I brought with me today two mixed media cards and want to share them with you!

They are made using the same materials with the same sketch in the same style.
I decided to do it on purpose to show you that even making exactly the same action with the same material, you can still get a different result - a small bonus from the mixed media style!

The first is "Happy Day" card.

You can see a bit of gesso in the background, three types of sprays, a few stamps... The next layer includes applying  the ink through a stencil, as well as gouache pens doodling.

Frame with a bird cut from a piece of paper, perfectly matched the color and created a the compositional center of card. In this photo you can see that the frame is slightly raised on a thin adhesive tape on the background.

If you look closer, you will see that in some places the background the gold paste is lying - the card immediately acquires a festive feel and shine with it!

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned paper: Allure/Madeleine
Double Dot Jewels: Think Pink
Stamps: New Romance, New Captured
Stickable Stencils: Brocade
Glimmer Spray: Tutu, Mint, Bronze
Glitter Paste: Gold
Ink Pad: Licorice, Wildberry, Emerald

The second card - "Memories"

This time I was not even interested to talk about how this card was made.
Why?
Because it is made exactly the same way as the previous one!

A little gesso, Glimmer spray, stamps, ink +Stickable stencil, gouache pens doodling, paper frame, a bit of the gold Glitter paste... -  nothing new!

In this more detailed photo you can see that the gold paste was applied directly onto the frame - very spectacular, I tell you!

Thank you for your attention, and you can try to find differences in the lists of materials for these two cards!
Have creative day!

Lets Ride! by Megan Gourlay

Washi tape seems to be an addictive embellishment that has been around for awhile but one I never really got, and now I'm wondering why? lol.  BoBunny has come up with some funky designs to match their paper ranges, and after a bit of sleuthing around on the internet I found out it was easy and fun to use.  I love that its so forgiving on mistakes! - the anal part of me wanted my strips straight and they weren't but with some re-adjusting they were exactly where I wanted them.  I wish all mistakes were that easy to fix!

My Godson Jack is 4 and loves racing up the long drive to the house on his bike.  I was looking for papers to tie in with this photo and kept coming back to Modern Miss - the rebel in me quite likes that I've turned something that is supposed to be feminine range into something more masculine.

Designer Tip:  By splitting the banner from the Noteworthy range in two you can layer them on top of each other for a more dimensional banner.

Our Little Monster by Evgenia Petzer

Washi tape is definitely trendy and oh, so easy to use! What I love about it- its a bit transparent that gives your project more airiness, and also if you are not happy with the way you have sticked it, you can easily peel it off without any damage to your project. I used 3 different washi tapes on my layout.

Memories by Ilene Tell

I Can't get enough of Modern Miss! And I really love the washi tape that comes with the collection, especially the photo film strip patterened one. I used it throughout to give a more united, cohesive look to the various areas of the layout. I love how easy it is to re-position as well, and that the lighter areas are see-though - gives it a more artsy feel, which went well with the collection.

I also used the washi tape to make an embellishment - I simply covered a small piece of sturdy cardstock with washi tape and then ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot with a heart die - and viola! - a cute embellishment that perfectly matches the layout :)
