Super Safari Layout!!

Hi! This week we are focusing on the beautiful Bo Bunny Jewels and the gorgeous Safari collection. The jewels are actually some of my favourite embellishments, so I was really excited to get to work with some of them for today's blogpost. I choose to work with the 'Tuxedo' jewels and used them to add a few bling details on this lay-out about my father.

This photo of my father shows him just the way he is. When we are on vacation or just have a short family trip to the zoo or to a museum, he is always very interested in everything that he sees, whether it's a beautiful landscape, a work of art of some kind of architecture. That is what this lay-out is about. The title is in Dutch and says 'always curious'.

On my lay-out I used a mixture of papers from the Safari collection to match my photo. I also used one sheet of the Heritage collection. I cut out several bricks from the 'Jungle' paper to create a nice background for my photo.

I used the beautiful jewels to add some extra detail to my lay-out. I added some of them to the banner that I created below my photo. Besides, I also incorporated a few jewels in the chickenwire patterns that I stamped alongside the edges of my lay-out.

Safari Coffee Table Concertina Mini Album!

Hello BoBunny Fans! It's Denise here today, to show you the Safari Coffee Table Concertina Mini Album I created.

In December we had gone to visit my Mother-in-Law, on the family farm, Redhill.  It is a game farm and situated right in the middle of the African Bush.  I wanted to have a little reminder of this visit, on the coffee table.

I had this gorgeous, little wood box and had the idea to create a concertina mini album, which could fit inside the box.

I cut strips of BoBunny card stock and then folded and joined them to make the concertina album. So when opening the box, you see this, first page, inside.

This is what the album looks like on the one side.

I used stamps, noteworthy bits, stickers, buttons and jewels to create interest, without adding too much bulk.  I also used a white pen to outline some of the photo's.

Below you can see the join.  I used washi tape for the cardstock join.

The block patterned paper was perfect for this album and I just had to trim the blocks down a bit.

I kept the styling simple because I wanted the photo's to be the focus.

The Safari Collection was perfect to showcase our African Adventure.

This little concertina album was really quite easy to make and a great way to showcase some of our holiday photo's and memories.

The Very Versatile Safari Collection!

Hello Bo Bunny fans, it's Gabrielle here with you today to share my latest layout using Bo Bunny's Safari collection and featuring their brilliant Aqua Jewels!

 So, you bought the Safari collection to scrap all those photos you took with the kids at the Zoo or on a special vacation.  But now you've got some leftover paper.  What I love about BoBunny's themed collections is that they can be used for everyday photos as well!  I was just crazy about these grungy wall papers, so I started with these as my base for this page of my dear husband and me.

I took the grunge look a little further by tearing out sections of the turquoise wall paper and exposing the aged brick paper behind it. Before I glued it together I sandwiched some tattered cheesecloth between the layers.  I used the Chocolate Pearlescent to add 'rivets' to the edges of the paper.

I began creating a background for my photo area by first dry brushing some Gesso on the area, then I used the NEW Cascade stickable stencil with some texture paste on the same area.  Then I added some richness to the design by adding a bunch of the small gems from the Aqua Jewels pack at the cross sections of the Moroccan.design.

I tucked a wood piece from the Ironworks Wood designs package behind the photo, removing the center disc (to be used in my floral cluster - below), and then filled the cavity with a variety of gems from the Aqua Jewels packet. 

Finally, I wanted some rustic looking blooms for this page so I used a daisy floral punch on some neutral color papers from a 6x6 paper pad from the Heritage collection.  I layered a few of the punched blooms and added a circle of burlap to the center.
