Old Fashioned Christmas!

Hey friends, it's Sara here showing you three of my favorite things.  The Sleigh Ride collection, Silver foil transfers and Snowflake laser cut chipboard.  The woodsy, wintry feel of this line has me wishing for a good old fashioned country Christmas.

You can see in this close up how the Accents silver foil transfers shine and add the perfect finishing touch to any project.  And who doesn't love a little extra pop to your projects!

In this picture you can see how I used the silver pearlescents on top of the laser cut chipboard to make it shine.  First I brushed the pearlescents over the whole chipboard piece and when it was dry I dabbed a few drops to look like pearls on the tips of the snowflakes.  I love how you can see the brown showing through randomly.  You can achieve many different looks and feels with the pearlescents depending on how they are applied.

Thanks for joining me today, hope you have a fabulous day!  Happy Scrappin' :)

Planner Love With Misc Me!

Hi BoBunny fans!

Today it's time to give you a peek at a couple of pages in my new Misc Me album. It was love at first sight for me with the fabulous 'Calendar Girl' collection and I knew I wanted to use the Misc Me supplies from this collection to create an album with inspiring quotes. The Pocket Square journaling contents that come with this collection have beautiful sayings printed on them and I used some of them to remind me of several important notes to self.

I used the Calendar Girl Planner Contents inside my Misc Me binder. I decided to start by decorating the January tab page. I will write down my resolutions for 2016 on the lines later on and will also include some photos taken in January 2016 in the tab later on.

I decorated this page with a small Journal Content card with a quote about predicting the future. I figured that would be a perfect quote to start off the new year with. The tag and the chipboard title 'Joy' are from the Sleigh Ride collection.

I decorated the backside of the tab page with papers and embellishments from the Sleigh Ride collection. I love the fact that the Calendar Girl collection is so versatile that you can mix it with all kinds of other Bo Bunny collections.

For the other side of this spread, I used one of the Misc Me page protectors and filled the pockets with both photos and inspiring quotes. The quotes are again from the Pocket Square journal cards. I attached these cards on top of a rectangular shaped card that was just the right size to fit in the pockets. I again used some bits and pieces from the Sleigh Ride collection as well, including both the Noteworthy die-cuts and some buttons.

I found this saying about being rejected so beautiful and true! I couldn't resist including it in my Misc Me album.

I filled the page protectors on the backside with quotes and photos as well. I again used both the Sleigh Ride collection and the Calendar Girl Pocket Squares journal cards to create the content of the pockets.

This is a photo of my mom and me that I absolutely love. Since this Misc Me album is filled with important notes to self and things that I love, I just had to include some favourite photos of my beloved ones in this album as well.

Layout Tutorial!

Hello BoBunny Fans!

It's Denise here today with a tutorial, using the Winter Delight Stickable Stencil and also showing 3 versions of the same page....1 layout 3 ways!

We all have different styles and that's the beauty and fabulous part of creativity. So for some, it's a much cleaner look to the page, whilst others love quite a number of embellishments and then others, are somewhere in between. So my mixed media page today, is based exactly around these 3 different styles.

However, the base remains the same and this is the tutorial, using the Winter Delight Stickable Stencil.

I started with a 300g thick water colour paper and cut it down to 29.5cm x 29.5cm. I also chose the photo that I wanted to use.

I distressed the edges of the paper and then got out the gesso, old credit card and started playing with the stencil.

I moved it around the page so that I had a fairly good coverage of snowflakes.

I then allowed the gesso to dry. I also mixed up some Brilliant Blue and a small amount of Licorice Pearlescent paint, to give me a darker pearlescent blue, to use along with the Brilliant Blue.

I added small amounts of water to both blue shades and then went about adding colour to the background.

I used a spray bottle with water, to liberally spray all over the gesso.  Next, was to take a paint brush and add little blobs of the darker blue shade, randomly over the page.  Spray small amounts of water into the little blobs and allow the paint to run.

Allow this colour to dry and then do the same with the watered Brilliant Blue.

I then added some random dots, by turning out the spray nozzle on the Frost Glimmer Spray bottle and lightly tapping my forefinger on the plastic take-up pipe, so that I got some splashy dots. I also sprayed a small amount of Frost onto the background, holding my page at quite a distance, so that it was a very light spritz. This was then allowed to dry thoroughly.

I cut a 7 inch diameter doiley with a Martha Stewart circle punch from the stripey patterned paper, framed the 12,5cm x 9,5cm photo with a hand-torn matting, and placed this, along with a sticker onto the page. I also raised the photo with some 3D foam.

I fussy cut some elements from the patterned papers and added some "twig" die-cuts. A title was also added using some stickers. This completed the version 1 of this page. A fairly clean design.

To create version 2 of this page, I added a frame to the background page and also distressed the edges.  I added some random stamping to the background, along with some snow-flake die-cuts and a little bling.

To create version 3 of this page, I added more embelishments, some die-cut flowers, some lattice die-cuts, some lace from a recycled scarf, some leaves and lastly, some chipboard snowflakes too.

So there you have it, 3 different takes on the same page.

Magical Mixed Media!

Today I wanted to share a couple holiday cards using BoBunny glitter pastes and stencils. Mixed media really doesn't have to be difficult or time consuming and the glitter pastes make it really easy to add some pretty sparkle to your holiday cards this year.

Easy mixed media cards by Ilene Tell

For this card, I paired the silver glitter paste with the "Winter Delight" stencil for some pretty, sparkly, yet subtle snowflakes. I added a little of the silver paste on top for an icy effect. The snowflake in the center is BoBunny's laset-cut chipboard. I simply covered it with the Blueberry glitter paste to have it match the card.

On the paper itself, there was a little deer on top of the pile of presents, so I simply put silver paste on top of it to mute it out, so you wouldn't see it under the snowflake that I replaced it with. I always like to add something dimensional to my cards to give them a little oomph. And the glitter pastes paired with a stencil are a great way to add texture. I applied the glitter paste with a palette knife - super easy! For the center of the snowflake, I added a double dot jewel.

I like to use patterned paper for my card bases - BoBunny paper is nice and thick, so it works well for that. This way, I end up with a pattern inside the card, as well as on the back of the card, which gives it a really nice effect. The front of the card is reinforced with the actual card image and decoration, and I reinforce the inside second page with another sheet - the double thickness is perfect for the card base. For that paper, I always choose a more neutral, lighter paper so it's easy to write the message on it. I try to find neutral papers that also have a little decoration or image on them for more interest. This paper was perfect since it had the pretty trees on the bottom and the snowflake and light rays throughout.

For the second card, I again used the snowflake stencil to add some sparkle. For added dimension, I added the layered chipboard wings that were already decorated with jewels. This card was very simple to create as well - I cut out the window image from a sheet of paper, and pasted it on top of another sheet of paper. Add some snowflakes, the wings, and done!

Here's a close-up of the beautiful sparkle you get with the silver glitter paste. Don't you think this is just beautiful for holiday, New Year's, and Christmas cards?

And of course the card isn't done until I finish up the inside with some pretty paper:

Sleigh Ride Layout 3 Ways!

Happy Wednesday, I am here to share with you our new 3 way layout format using the snowy Sleigh Ride Collection and the Snowflake Stamp Set.

For the first layout, simply cut your papers into rectangles and layer upon one another. Here I added a couple of pieces from the Noteworthy and a sticker from the Combo Sheet as my title.

Wonderful by Tracee Provis

For the next level I added a strip of trees along the top, keeping with the tree theme I layered the Noteworthy deer over some tree shapes that I cut from the Blizzard sheet of patterned paper. I used Jewel Flourishes to draw your eye back to the photo and added a couple of small pieces of Denim Blue Lace to create depth.

For my final layout I used different sized snowflakes from the set to randomly stamp onto a piece of vellum/tracing paper, I stitched this to the white cardstock base using a contrasting thread.

I added a little strip of the stamped vellum at the top along with more snowflakes and a piece from the Wonderful sheet that adds to my title.

I stamped the large snowflake onto thin white cardstock using Blueberry ink and then double embossed them with clear embossing powder before fussy cutting them out and creating a cluster along the top of my original rectangle strips.

I used the Bow stencil from the Winter Delight Stencil Set along with some Silver Glitter Paste, after it was dry I fussy cut around it to make a cute embellishment for my page.

I applied the same treatment with the Glitter paste to a Polaroid frame which I layered over the top of the photo, this really helps to draw your eye back to the photo on this busy page.

I added some pearls here and there just for fun.

Stunning Sleigh Ride Misc Me!

Hello, Solange Marques here and it's time to share with you some pages of my Misc Me! For this project I used Pocket Squares protector pages for my 8"x9" album and I also used Sleigh Ride Pocket Squares journaling cards.

Sleigh Ride is a beautiful Christmas collection. I chose to use sepia photos to combine with this collection.

I used mixed media on my  Misc Me:

I prepared a tutorial for my Misc Me Pockect Squares:

1. Cut the wings from Sleigh Ride Pocket Squares Journal card

2. Using a craft knife, cut around the picture where you want to fit the wings.

3. Place the wings.

4. Use a Sleigh Ride 6"x 6" page and cut around the star with a craft knife:

5. Snap the photo and glue it on paper .

6. Apply crackle paste around the photo.

7. Blend the photo on the background using acrylic paints:

8. Apply gold glimmer spray:

9. Add the transfer and stickers:

10. Apply acrylic gesso on the borders of pocket squares contents and on the photos:

11. Add buttons and chipboards:

12. Splash some acrylic gesso on the photo and cards:
