I wanted something fresh and for a change, not blue, at least not for the fist card...

What A Wonderful World!

What a Wonderful World by Ilene Tell
What a Wonderful World layout by Ilene Tell using BoBunny Altitude collection
Today, I'm sharing a Pinterest-inspired layout. I admit it - I love Pinterest. It's one of those sites that kind of sucks you in, and before you know it, hours have passed. When I got the challenge to use a picture from Pinterest to inspire a layout, I thought it would be fun to browse some home décor ideas. There is so much stuff out there! All the images with "Gallery Walls" caught my eyes. Something about the simplicity in combination with the busyness of it was just fascinating. So streamlined and organized, and yet SO much to look at. Here's my inspiration image:
It comes from TidbitsAndTwine (and there's a whole article there on creating gallery walls). The Altitude paper was perfect for it since it already had a whole collection of "framed" images. To better fit the wall décor feel, I used foam adhesive to pop up the photo and all the images around it, to help them "float" on the page.

I also added some buttons and banners to give the layout a little more interest and variety without taking away from the more streamlined feel of it.

A Little Dutch Inspiration!

Hi everyone, it's Amy here with you today, to share my pinterest inspired off the page project.
I love surfing around the net especially on pinterest you get so many ideas just looking around.
As most of you know I live in The Netherlands that's why I wanted to make something Dutch.
So I came up with a "Clog" what's more Dutch then that right? This picture inspired me to make my OTP.

Wooden Clog by Amy Voorthuis

For this clog I used the pretty Rose Cafe collection. I think the person that created that collection must have Dutch roots, as I said before I love the blues in that collection it looks like Delft's Blue.

I have a little tutorial on how I made this.

The original look of the clog.

All gessoed, abraded and gessoed again to give the surface a better attachment for my next layer of paper pieces.

I used some glue & seal matte finished to attach the pieces of paper and later on sprayed it with some golden glimmer mist and stamped it with the it is written stamp.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope I inspired you to make something pretty using your country as inspiration!

It's All About the Details!

Pinterest is a treasure-trove of visual eye candy, so this month, my Misc Me layout is a pinterest-inspired creation.

Solstice by Keri Babbitt

I was inspired by the cascading silver circles in this Pinterest image:

I decided to get this ethereal look with a fun new technique - using BoBunny art mediums on the outside of my page protectors!  Below is a tutorial to achieve this fun look on your own project.

This particular 2-page spread is a bit unique.  Rather than left and right facing pages, the layout uses both sides of the page protector, for a see-through pocket effect.  To get this type of page started, first I chose photos for both sides of the page protector, and then adhered them to each other and put them in their correct pockets.  Then, I started on the mixed media technique.

I cut an 11.5" circle out of cardstock, and used it to mask off each corner of the page protector, one at a time.

I used Sugar Pearlescents to fill in the stencil, then flattened out the paste evenly and scraped off the excess.

The result is a creamy look that is bold and fun against the dark photos.

After repeating this process for all eight corners (Do four corners, let dry, then flip over and repeat process for four remaining corners), I added more stenciling onto the middle pockets of the page protector.

To get a multi-tonal effect, I placed the two pearlescent colors in different spots on the stencil, and then spread glitter paste over the whole thing.

The less you work the colors with the spreader, the more color variation the final look will have.

Gorgeous!  Note: the glitter paste will dry clear, giving a more icy, sparkly look.  If you want this opaque white look to stay, you can get this effect by swapping the glitter paste for modeling paste, or sugar pearlescents.

After everything was dry, I added my finishing touches.  If you are adding glitter, sequins, or confetti to your pockets, make sure to seal them shut with a sewing machine or double-sided tape.  Here is the final result:

I love the peek-a-boo feature of this page, and the circle of dots around each photo edge creates a fun shaping to the layout.  See-through elements are great for winter/snow/ice themes, like this page about us spreading bird seed around our yard on Winter Solstice.

Pinterest Inspired.....Cards!

Hello Everyone! I was inspired by the beautiful colors of this Pinterest inspired picture of a rose. The  pinks, greens, and browns are one of my favorite color combinations.  I love flowers and butterflies, so I thought the features on my cards should reflect that.  For my creations, I used the gorgeous BoBunny papers from the Primrose Collection. The cards can be used as all occasion cards that can go with many themes.

Pinterest Inspired photo

Butterfly Card by Lisa Gregory for BoBunny using Primrose.

These flowers were created by fussy cutting out the hexagon shapes in the paper, and shaping them a bit to give them texture. I created the middles by using a star punch, Double Dots paper,  and layering multiple shapes, then scrunching them together to create the fluffed look. I fussy cut the butterflies and painted them with crackle paint.

This second card focuses on the flowers I created. They were layered upon the  fussy cut medallion from one of the patterned papers. I placed a small piece of corrugated cardboard  in between the layers for dimension. I fussy cut the butterflies for this card as well.

There are multiple layers of flowers in different sizes to create each flower. I created the middles the same way as in the previous card.
