1. Using the fingers I applied acrylic gesso on borders of the banners:

2. I mixed acrylic gesso and water and I place this mix on a spray bottle . I spray this mix on the banners:

For my project today, I created a home decor piece perfect for all of us dog lover's out there! I used a wire frame base and covered it with strips of patterned paper from the Happy Tails collections and strips of Double Dot Cardstock.

Next, I added a collar using a chipboard piece from the Happy Tails 12x12 Chipboard. I created the dog tag by fussy cutting it from the License patterned paper. The nose was hand cut from the back side of the same paper. I then added jewels for the eyes to give him a true puppy dog face! For more detailed instructions on how I created this project and the wire base I used, please visit my blog: 17turtles.com.

Our Lil Monster Party by Bernii Miller

Well today for my off the page project I decided to create a little party pack for my nephews upcoming 3rd birthday party. I thought that the Our Lil Monster collection would be perfect to create a fun and colourful party set.

I started with creating a banner using up pieces from the noteworthy pack and then gave my silhouette portrait a work out  creating lots of paper rosettes, and then by hand I made lots of fun pin-wheels. Then just for some extra sparkle and fun, I used some dimensional magic   in the corner of the larger pin-wheels and sprinkled some silver chunky glitter that I grabbed from my local cheap shop.

Then to create the little clear buttons for the rosettes I used my circle epiphany tool , a perfect finishing touch.

I had so much fun creating these little straw flags. Using the strips off the 12 x 12 paper paper I save the little Our Lil Monster logo and used them directly on the little flags. They are a perfect fit.

I also made a few party bags with elements from the paper banner , creating little clusters and sprinkles of glitter.

If you have a little party coming up , why not consider creating a few fun handmade treasures or the party. Your kids will remember the special little touches that you made just for them . If you would like some more ideas or perhaps the measurements for the pin-wheels and a few other instructions I made then head on over to my blog at weekendatberniis .

Love Banners

February is fast approaching and the month of love will soon be upon us! This week our theme on the BoBunny blog is love. We will be sharing all kinds of loved themed projects, from banners to scrapbook pages and everything in between. Today, Ilene and Lisa, have each created an adorable banner that would add the perfect touch of love to anyone's home!

Home Is Where You Are Love Banner by Ilene Tell

Our challenge was to create a love banner and I wanted to use the Pincushion line since it has such sweet, soft colors, and so many cute elements and "love" sentiments. The colors are so neutral and pleasant that they would go great with any home decor, and look good during any season - be it Valentine's day, Spring, or Summer! To make the actual banner, I used a naked Punky Sprouts mini and used my Crop-A-Dile to punch holes in the top and finished them off with large silver brads.

I used the "LOVE" letters from the Head Over Heels 12x12 Chipboard. They were black and white, so they went well with the Pincushion collection. I backed them up with black paper from the Pincushion collection to help them stand out more against the white doilies. I also used a lot of BoBunny doilies. Don't they add such a soft, pretty effect? As usual, I layered a ton of different elements, and inked the edges well.

For the middle panel, I layered a doily chipboard piece from the 12 x 12 Pincushion Chipboard and a layered chipboard doily from the Pincushion Layered Chipboard to add more interest to the banner. It also gives the banner an uneven number of panels. Banners tend to be more visually appealing with an uneven number of panels.

I also used a ton of buttons, including both chipboard and real ones from the Pincushion Buttons. Layered with chipboard banners and flowers, they work together to add a lot of dimension and variety without making it look overly crowded or busy.

BoBunny Supplies:
Paper: Backstitch, Doilies, Toile/ Pincushion
6x6 Paper Pad: Pincushion
12x12 Chipboard: Pincushion, Head Over Heels
Buttons: Pincushion
Layered Chipboard: Pincushion
Cardstock Sticker: Pincushion
Doilies: 4" Small

Valentine's Day Banner - Lisa Novogrodski

If you have never tried creating banners you are in for a real treat. BoBunny's Head Over Heels collection is a perfect ensemble of coordinated pattern paper, chipboard, buttons and die cuts all just begging to be layered!

Not only are banners fun to create but they can be used in several ways. String them together and hang them or use rings and stack them for a mini album. You can even decorate each one and use it as an embellishment in a mini album or card! Versatility at it's best!

I started off with a chipboard banner shape, backed it in the Strawberry Double Dot cardstock and then layered the front with Head Over Heels pattern paper and embellishments.

I love lots of little details and I really piled on the Noteworthy die cuts, 12 x 12 chipboard and a little added cheesecloth and eyelash yarn for shabby chicness.

The Wildberry Daisy Blossoms coordinate perfectly with this collection.

I added some modeling paste for additional interest, dyed some seam binding to match, punched holes in the chipboard and strung the banner pieces together.

BoBunny Supplies:
Pattern Paper: Head Over Heels, Only You, Prince Charming/ Head Over Heels
Cardstock: Strawberry Double Dot
Chipboard: Head Over Heels 12 x 12 Chipboard
Noteworthy: Head Over Heels
Blossoms: Wildberry Daisy
Buttons: Head Over Heels
