Cleaning up mess's again... and winning and challenging

This has been a funny morning.

First of all, I ended up not having a blog post for today and
was so sad.  It's rare that I have nothing to say.

Then, our cute Bo Bunny friend Erica left a comment and
was so confused by my picking a winner for our layout challenge.
Well, no wonder she was so confused...
I didn't clean up my mess yesterday, I made a bigger one.

Thanks for the help Erica... I hope I get it right this time.

June's challenge was "Juliana's sketch" on June 1st.
July's challenge was "White Space" on July 13th.
August's challenge was supposed to be "Interview Journaling" from Aug 3.

Now... and I kid you not.
I have someone in the office pick a number
between 1 and the number of entries in the contest,
to pick our winners for our challenges.

I explained my mess up to them all and explained I needed a winner
for June's challenge and asked Rae to pick a number between 1 and 35.
She picked number 9.
Drum roll......
The winner of June's challenge is Erica!!!

Congrats Erica and looks like you had a blast in Philly!!!

Then.... I posted the "White Space" winner yesterday (Krystle)
which takes care of July.

NOW... for August.
I'll start the challenge today, since the Sept. challenge ends up being on Sept. 14th,
so we have plenty of time to play.

Here is a link back to the post, so you can read about the challenge, and then I'll add
the inlinkz to this post, so you can add your 'interview' layout.

Thanks for being patient with us (me) and I can't wait to see what you
all come up with.  If you have any questions... just leave a comment and
we'll get back with you.  Thanks!!!

Quick & Easy 2 page layouts and more!

Today's post is LOADED!!

First of all we have some awesome 2 page layouts for you!
(okay...only 2 - 2 page layouts!  gggrrrrrrrr.... mine is sitting on my counter
top, so I DON'T forget to take it to work to scan)

A whole lotta good it's doing us there.  Sorry :(

And I'm sad cuz I used fun pictures at the beach in Cali when a couple
of my friends and I took a road trip
and I was able to play with the new DETOUR collection.

I'm over it and moving on....
(but make sure to read all the way to the end... cuz there's more)

Today's formula for our layouts is:

4 patterned papers
1-2 pieces Double Dot cardstock
2 embellishment packs of your choice

Hummingbird Festival
Juliana Michaels

Designer Tip:
The tabbed piece of paper contains my journaling
about what I learned when I went to this festival.
This is a great way to include journaling when you have a lot to say
or if you want to keep it more private.

Create your own dimensional flowers from cardstock
stickers or by fussy cutting like flowers
from patterned paper and layer them with double sided foam tape.

You can further embellish them by using Jewels as the center of the flower. For more details on how I created the flowers please visit my blog: 17turtles
How to use the left overs:

1. Create another layout by adding another full 12 x 12 sheet of paper and using the left over pieces of patterned paper and cardstock.
2. Fussy cut more flowers to use on cards or another layout.
3. The extra stickers will certainly create another layout.
4. Use the jewels to embellish the left over stickers and use them on a card or layout.

 Bo Bunny Supplies:

Patterned Papers: Bubbles, Doodles, Wish/ Alora
(I used 2 of Bubbles)
Cardstock: Double Dot in Poppy Dot
Jewels: Alora
Stickers: 12 x 12 Combo Sticker/ Alora

Smile
Robbie Herring

 Designer Tips:
1.    When choosing papers, be sure to consider both sides. The Apple Cider Journey paper has some really great shapes on the front side, and a plaid on the back side. I cut the shaped piece in the upper left side, the apple, the upper scalloped border and the word smile from the front side. The plaid on the back made the perfect print for layering punched flowers.

2.    Another way I used the backside was to choose the Apple Cider Dot paper. It had a nice word print that I used to help center my design and a dark dotted backside to punch a border and use for the back layers of my punched flowers.

3. Don't forget the packaging! In addition to using the layered chipboard for added dimension around my page, I also used the packaging to punch out leaves for my flowers.

4. Pull out your old scalloped scissors and use them to cut a contrast border around select pieces. I used mine to cut the scalloped border around the shaped piece.

 Left Overs:
1. I have a LOT of the combo stickers left over. I will be using both the alphabets, borders and other shapes on future layouts. Those stickers go a LONG way and are such a great embellishment to buy to help stretch your supplies.

2. I also have quite a bit left of the Coffe Dot Cardstock. I keep a file folder for all my Double Dot Paper scraps. It will go into that folder to be used when I need accents.
Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Papers: Apple Cider Collection-Apple Cider, Apple Cider Bounty, Apple Cider Dot and Apple Cider Journey
Cardstock: Double Dot in Coffe Dot
Layered Chipboard: Apple Cider
Stickers: 12 x 12 Combo Sticker/ Apple Cider

Now... for our next item of business...
It's a sad and a happy day.

We have love, love, loved having our fabulous guest designer Julie
play along with us all summer!  She has been amazing and exceeded any expectations we had.
I seriously don't know how she does it... she is so on top of things and is such a wonderful mom and wife and we have thoroughly enjoyed having her.
(And lucky for us... she has been playing and commenting and facebooking
with us for a long time and we're not really losing her...)

We love you Julie!  Thanks for playing.

And now....
We would like to introduce our next guest designer:

Lynn Shokoples
(and Jax and Daisy)

Hi Everyone! My name is Lynn Shokoples and I live  in Alberta Canada. It's a honor to be a guest designer at Bo Bunny. I've been scrapbooking since the beginning of time when all there was available was some paper, pens and scalloped rulers. I started my first baby album in 1992. Let's just say my style has evolved since then. I love to try new techniques and go between a shabby style to cute and fun layouts.  I've been a Bo Bunny fan right from the start and will admit to stashing some of eachcollection for that "special layout".   When I'm not scrapbooking, I'm a wife and a  mom to two wonderful young adults Nicole 24 and Ryan 20, a new son-in-law Christopher. I'm also a new mom to two rambunctious Goldendoodle puppies. Keeps my life interesting! I'm excited to be a part of this amazingly talented group of ladies whom I've admired for years, so thank you Bo Bunny!

Thank you Lynn... we can't wait for you to play!!!

FIELD TRIP FRIDAY

Time for another Field Trip Friday where our DT steps
outside their comfort zone and amazing things happen!!

Get ready to be WOWED!
Gabi has stepped into the world of mixed media and made an adorable canvas
that makes you feel empowered and artistic!  She also made a fun video tutorial
and gave us all the pattern for her adorable lil miss.

Mixed Media Canvas
by: Gabrielle Pollacco

 check out the detail....
 seriously so much fun!

Supplies:
11 x 14 inch canvas
Patterned Paper; Little Miss Brenna, Little Miss Maree, Little Miss Jaquoya, Little Miss Cut Outs, Gabrielle: Cameo, Dot
6x6 Paper Pad: Little Miss
Stamps: Midnight Frost
Rub-on's: Country Garden

I've seriously got that UTZ in my tummy that says I have to go home and try this.

Next up... ROMY
Here's what she had to say...
"Since each Bo Bunny collection comes with many gorgeous papers and beautiful coordinating embellishments, it is pretty tempting to stick to one collection on a layout. I sometimes mix up two collections that look a lot alike, but I have never combined two very different ranges of paper on one layout.
But the Ambrosia collection inspired me to use a mixture of vintage and colourful on my layout. The muted, vintage tones in the background will make the beautiful colours stand out even more. I used one sheet of the Welcome Home and one sheet of Et Cetera for my background. I also incorporated a sheet of music note paper from an old book. On top of those vintage layers I added papers and embellishments from the Ambrosia collection to create a colourful 'frame' for my photo.
I had a blast mixing up these collections that I normally wouldn't use together and I hope you will give it a try too."
The little things are not so little after all
Romy Veul

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Flowers, Marigold, Primrose, Roses, Stripe, Cut Outs/Ambrosia; Extra/Et Cetera; Stripe/Welcome Home
Chipboard: Ambrosia 12 x 12
Stickers: Ambrosia Cardstock Sticker, Ambrosia Dimensional Stickers
Jewels: Ambrosia
Rub-ons: Ambrosia

Every single time I read that the girls mix up lines, I think I want to try it...
however, I have yet to do it, but Romy made it seem so easy!

And last but certainly not least....
Juliana says,
"I knew immediately that using rub ons would be stepping outside my comfort zone. I hate to admit this, but I rarely use them. I also hate to admit this...I am afraid of them! I am not a stick it down and move on kind of scrapper. I like to move things around before I commit to their final placement. And as you all know, rub ons can't be moved around at all. Recently one our very own designers, Tara Orr, shared a tip about putting them on cardstock and then cutting around them. Why had I never thought of that?! This is the technique I used and I combined them with stickers from the 12 x 12 Combo Stickers to embellish my layout. If you are interested in more step by step details on how I used them on my layout, please feel free to stop by my blog: 17turtles."

Make A Wish
Juliana Michaels

What a fun idea and new way to play with all those rubons you've been storing up!

Emma makes me wanna get down and make sand angels!

Today you've gotten lots of fun inspiration and ideas that will last you all weekend!
Make sure you leave us a comment and post your layouts and projects on facebook.
We love to see what you all come up with!!!

Last but certainly not least we have this beautiful card by Robbie and she has really used her bling to showcase her card.

Beautiful You
by Robbie Herring
 Bo Bunny Supplies:
Double Dot Paper: Buttercup Dot and Island Mist Vintage
Button: Ambrosia
Chipboard: Ambrosia
Layered Chipboard: Ambrosia
Jewels: Weekend Market
Ribbon: Grape Dot
Designer Tip: Use tiny jewels to add dimension to your background paper. Use the printed pattern as your guide and randomly add jewels. You can use the strip of jewels included in the package by cutting them apart. Make your cuts between them before you take them off the packaging. That way you can just pull off what you want and save the rest.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing our blinged up cards today and are ready to go and bling your projects up!  Do you like to use bling to finish off your layouts and cards?  Don't forget to share your projects using bling with us on our Facebook page, we would love to see them!

Flower Gift Box and Ring

Juliana also did a box to hold her gift.  She even made a sweet and fashionable ring using a Bo Bunny Button!  How terrific is this?  The rose on top is so beautiful, I would be tempted to use it as a corsage on Mother's Day!

3) Glue down two of the Noteworthy embellishments in the middle of your card.
4) Embellish your card with a few chipboard stickers, rub-ons and fussy cut clouds and planes. Rub the sentiment rub-on onto a strip of white paper and adhere them to your card using foamtape.
