Back To School Season is right near the corner and since my both of my kids are students, I have already started my preparations for it.
This time I decided to create a journal for my daughter.
For my journal, I used Double Dot Chevron papers and many of the BoBunny Stamps.
and for my favorite fall season I had to use all of the fall leaves for sure!
I stamped on the background as well as stamped the images on the papers, I 've used for my spreads, and then cut out them with my scissors.
I used the fall hues colors mostly as well as stamped a lot with Color Wheel inks from Vicki Boutin and added red, orange, yellow and green for my stamped images.
I like how it turned out and the ombre shadow it has too.
I made the book binding for my journal and left the chevron side of the papers with no stamps.
And played a lot with the colors on the other pages
I combined several stamp sets and they complement each other perfectly for this kind of project.
I hope I have inspired you to create your own journal! Happy back-to-school time!

Angela here with a new project made with BoBunny Boulevard collection. This time, I created a stylish mini journal using both papers and lots of beautiful embellishments from the collection. For an overall look through, watch the video below!
The journal has a hard cover made of chipboard and the binding is made of two rubber bands that hold all the pages in place. On the spine of the journal I attached a pendant made of a tassel and a few beads I had in my stash.
To keep a classy feeling, I chose to close the journal with two pieces of silk ribbon. I placed the first piece of ribbon underneath the chipboard embellishments of the front cover, adhering it with strong glue. Then, I placed the second piece on the side of the journal and I sewed it with my sewing machine.
On the front cover i made a cluster of chipboard with gold foil accents and layered chipboard with glitter accents. I'm completely in love with those roses!
My intention is to fill in the journal with quotes and noteworthy words. Some of these are stamped or hand written, some other are from the journal cards and die-cuts form Boulevard collection.
The journal has a lot of space to write notes and thoughts. Some phrases, the more intimate are hidden on a tag placed inside a pocket or underneath a page flap.
Other phrases are written on little pieces of paper directly incorporated to the pages.
I created a variety in the size of the pages, some are longer, some are smaller, to give movement fo the journal.
Here is a Journal card from Boulevard collection with two tab stickers sewed on one side and hidden inside a pocket made of two pages glued together.
Here is an open pocket that holds a page of a book with a poem that I love.
I decorated each page with different kind of embellishments, chipboard, diecuts, stickers and little scraps of papers.
Here I used a brad from Boulevard collection to hold a little tag and underneath, a strip of washi holds in place a piece of paper ready to be filled with my notes.
Since Boulevard is a collection that reminds me of French canvas of nineteenth century, I also tried to incorporate little bits and pieces of laces and fabrics here and there.
This journal could appear a huge project to some of you but, believe me the beauty of Boulevard collection makes the greatest part of the job. You just need to grab the papers and the embellishments you love and put them together without overthinking.
For the journal title the idea was something like 'Notes to the heart' but I wasn't 100% sure so I preferred to leave it blank for the moment.
Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this mini journal but most of all I hope you feel inspired to create your own with the gorgeous Boulevard collection.
I'm so in love with today's layouts and the idea behind them.
Have you ever been at the point where all you're doing is putting the
who, what, when & where on your layouts?
It's a rut that a lot of us tend to get stuck in.
Many years ago (like15ish) I read an article by Rebecca Sower. (I think that's how you spell it)
In this article she talked about more meaningful journaling.
Here are just a few examples of what you could do:
~ Tell the story behind the photo.
~ Quote the person in the photo.
~Write your hopes & wishes for the person in the photo.
~ Journal through the hard times.

"The Love Letters collection inspired me to write a little note to my parents on one of my lay-outs. Saying how much I love them is something I would love to do much more. But saying it to them face to face is not something that feels very natural. So I figured making a lay-out and journaling about my love for them would be a nice alternative. My journaling is in the left below corner and says:
'Dear mom and dad,
I don't always show you,
I don't always admit,
That I love you
Incredibly much.
Love, Romy'"

Last month a friend of ours invited our family to join in a little photo contest, we were given 6 photo catagories to enter our photos into, one of which was 'Words'. I saw this cute idea of using laces to create a word on Pinterest, so we made our own 'Family' photo using the laces from our running shoes (and the girls even coaxed our puppy to add her paw to the family photo.)
Nest Tutorial
I created a nest embellishment using some burlap, twine/hemp, and some Bo Bunny Adhesive Pearls (Jewels). Here are my steps to make this easy-peasy nest!
NOTE: I used Tombow liquid adhesive here, you just apply it to the burlap and let it begin to dry and get tacky, when it starts to get clear you can add the next step without getting your fingers covered in a lot of wet glue.
Add BoBunny Adhesive pearls as 'eggs' and your nest is ready to apply to your page as an embellishment.

To the left of the photo there is actually a pull out tab with journaling/a special message to my daughter for her to read when she gets a little older.
This week, the Misc. Me is used as simply a journal.
The kind you just write down your thoughts & feelings in.
I'm excited to see what everyone starts using theirs for.
Make sure you let us know via comments on the blog or
come hang out and chat on facebook.
And here's your shopping list for April. This Gorgeous C'est la Vie album was designed by Tara Orr and it is SO much better in person!! So get your shopping on!
For my designer showcase I thought it would be a nice idea to make two
layouts about myself and write down some fun facts about me on them. In
that way I can share a little bit about me with you. Lately I am
incorporating more journaling in my lay-outs, especially when I scrap
about me. I want my scrapbook to be like a diary: something I can look
back at later and remember special moments, fun facts and notes to self.
@19 Romy Veul
For my first layout I used the gorgeous Serenade collection.
On
this layout I recorded five of my dreams at the age of 19. I thought
they deserved a lay-out in my book, so I can look back at my current
dreams when I am older.
My journaling says:
'My dreams for the future @ 19:
1. Living at a place where I am surrounded by animals
2. Having a family with four sweet children
3. Working in the editorial staff of a magazine
4. Traveling to Australia
5. Learning to ride horses
On my second layout I used the wonderful Apple Cider collection. I love
the warm colours and thought they matched my ginger hair very well. This layouts records my addiction for dresses. If I could, I would definitely wear them all year long. My journaling says: A dress has the same effect on me as chocolate has on many other people. As soon as I can wear my summer dresses again, I start to shine.
