We have seen some lovely layouts this week using our new Enchanted Garden collection. Today, however, we are switching it up and showing you how beautifully this collection works for creating off the page projects. And just in case you were wondering, "off the page" simply means anything that is not a scrapbook page!

When I received the Enchanted Garden collection, I just fell in love with the rich color scheme and pretty elements in the collection. The ombre effect paper "Spellbound" really caught my eye and I knew I wanted to use it particularly!
For my 'off the page' project today, I created an altered large 3D wooden star that I had picked up from my local craft store. For tips on how to cover it, stop on over to my blog.
A bit of shimmer paint was dry brushed to in purple along the edges of my pieces. I used the themes of the papers and added the cut outs to accent the star. I've used a few of the Brads and Jewels from the collection as well.

Altered Fairy Frame by

This gorgeous collection has such a fantasy, vintage feel to it that I just had to make an altered frame. I loved the fairy images, and the patterns, but to be honest, what I loved most about this collection were the colors. Purple is my favorite color and you don't see that much purple in scrapbooking paper for some reason - maybe it's a hard one to do right.... well, BoBunny pulled it off, and then some!

I took a plain little wood frame from Michael's and painted it with a base color of turquoise. Then, I painted it with a crackle medium, and when that was dry, I added a top color of white. When it dried, I added a little Tim Holtz crackle paint in white, to add even more crackle here and there. But I love how the bottom layer of turquoise still shows through. When everything was dry, I sanded the edges a bit for a worn look. For the interior "box", I actually used one of those $1 pre-drawn canvases from Michael's that they sell for kids to paint. They have a drawing already on it and then kids are supposed to paint it in. Well, I had a lot of those, and my kids did their thing with it, and it was ready for the trash (let's just say they didn't create a masterpiece. Rather than throw it out, I covered it with the gorgeous paper and turned it inside out to create a shadow box.

I cut fairies and butterflies out of the paper, and added glitter to the fairy dresses and wings, and to the wooden flourish. For the butterflies, I used some BoBunny bling, and covered them with Crackle Glossy Accents, so they have a cool cracked-glass effect. I also cut out some leaves from the paper to use with the flower.
Of course, I had pretty up the back of the project as well. It was easy enough to do, and I inked the edges of the paper, and painted the sides of the canvas with the turquoise paint I used as the base coat for the frame. That way, it helps everything match a little better.

A Book in a Book by Lisa Gregory
I had an unfinished paper mache book that I was saving for a special project. Enchanted Garden was the perfect paper collection to use. The jewel tones almost makes it look like a jewelry box. The parts that were exposed I painted with a metallic rub to match the paper.I used one of the cutouts for the cover. I used a little burlap underneath before I used pop dots to raise the butterfly paper. Perfect book page image for a book cover. That one paper image gave me the idea to do this project.
I lined the inside of the box using Double Dots paper. I created a mini album to place inside the book.I wanted to keep a monochromatic color for the cover. The Kraft wood pieces were coated with the same metallic rub I used on the book box. I added a brad to one of the crocheted flowers to match the others. I colored some ribbon and strung it through brads I placed on the front and back covers.
The inside pages were all lined with different papers from Enchanted Garden. The blues and greens are so dreamy.
Just another shot of my book in a book. I really enjoyed creating this project using Enchanted Garden. I plan to fill my mini with wishes and dreams.
