Mixed Media & Wood Shapes....WOW!

Hello All!  For this month's project, I am featuring the BoBunny Elegant Wood Shapes.  These gorgeous shapes are indeed elegant, featuring flowers, flourishes, and frames.  They are a perfect match for the Garden Journal collection.

To start, here is a look at how I decorated my 12x12 Misc Me Kraft binder:

At First Sight by Keri Babbitt

For my smaller binders and mini-albums, I like to add lots of dimensional layers, but since I store my 12x12 albums in a row on a shelf, I like the cover embellishments to be flat layers.  Here, I created a custom background with stamps, glimmer spray, pearlescents, and ink.  The rub-ons and stencils add interest and beauty, but without the bulk.

The spine of the album, however, was a great place to add a wood label frame, that will show up prettily, while the album is shelved:

This effect is a combination of Island Mist Pearlescents, over sprayed with Silver glimmer spray and then blotted.

And now, here's a look at my 2-page spread:

I used the Garden Journal Misc Me contents pack, and then embellished with chipboard, die cuts, and of course more wood shapes.

The Elegant wood shapes were given a Shabby Chic makeover, with some Island Mist Pearlescents, Silver Glimmer Spray, and Blush Glitter Paste.  The Elegant frames are the perfect little spot to showcase another small embellishment inside.

May Sketch Challenge!!

Hello and welcome to May! You know what that means, it's time for a brand new fabulous Sketch Challenge! I'm excited to share with you my take on this month's all new sketch.

Sideshow by Rhonda Van Ginkel

My project today features our fantastic Alphabet Silver Foil Rubons. Not only are they beautiful to use for your title work, they can also add that extra accent as well. The collection I'm using is called Carnival. The photo is of our dog, Radar who was decorated during nap time by our youngest, who was busy playing instead of actually napping with the dog.

The layers and circles in the sketch design make it easy to use multiple photos or just one. Here I've used a variety of circles, some are punched and some are the layered chipboard, chipboard or brads.

I built the background two layers first. Next, I worked on the collage pieces of the layers separately, tacking them together with small amounts of adhesive as I went.

Once I was happy with the placement, then I added my Alphabet Silver Foil Rubons to create the title and accents. Next the collage is adhered and machine stitched to ensure it's secure and my accent Rubons. Then I covered the design with scrap papers and dropped splatters of coordinating Glimmer Spray to accent the design.

Carnival Time!

Gröna Lund by Ulrika Wandler

This is what happens when you give the Swedish design team member (that's me!) the job to create a layout using alphabet stickers! I wrote in Swedish all over the layout, and nobody understands... ;-)

But keep calm, I will give you a translation!

I started by using a stickable stencil with a star pattern on the background paper.

I also added some glimmer spray drops!

I loved working with this colorful Carnival collection! Such bright, wonderful colors!

So, for the translation. This is what it says on the layout:

A mild summer evening in the company of good friends. Gröna Lund (the name of the amusement park in Stockholm, Sweden) - the funnest place!

Life's A Circus Wagon!

Hiya Bo Bunny Fans Tracee with you today on Off The Page Wednesday!

Life Is A Circus by Tracee Provis

Circus Carousel off the page project Tracee Provis Bo Bunny Carnival 01

I fell in love with the fun animals in the Carnival Collection coupled with my love of making balloon ornaments, I created this Circus Wagon being pulled along by a giraffe. I incorporated some of the new dies and stencils both on the balloon and the Wagon. The Wagon also holds a little surprise that will be revealed on a later date.

I used the Elegant border die and the 3 x 4 Lattice Frame die to add details along the front and the top of the Wagon, the fine details in the dies add a delicate and almost magical touch to the project.

I cut out some circles of Cardstock and added some buttons from the same Carnival Collection to create some wheels on the Wagon.

I used the Aqua Double dot Alphabet, to spell out a title, in the frame on the front of my project.

I simply adhered the large giraffe, from the Noteworthy pack, to some corrugated cardboard and glued that to a base of the same cardboard covered with patterned paper, I added a leash for him to pull the Wagon along.

Here you can also see where I used the cascade stencil and some Bronze Glitter paste to the bottom half of the balloon form. As they are peelable they are great for sticking to curvy surfaces.

For the main balloon for I used strips of paper from the 6 x 6 to cover it I cut the film strip piece out of the Carnival sheet and used it as a centre piece on the balloon, the bunting was added by cutting small triangles and attaching them to some string.

I cut the smaller animals from various sheets in the collection and popped them onto the top of the wagon... "How cute do they look?".

Finally to the top added a fussy cut masquerade mask and a banner piece from the Button pack. It adds that final theatrical touch to my fun circus themed project.

I hope you enjoyed it and are inspired to create your own projects using this fun BoBunny Carnival Collection.

Awesome Alpha Tutorial!

Good Morning! It's Lynn here today and I'm going to show you some fun ways to use the Carnival Collection and the Tuxedo Alphabet Stickers.

Misc.Me Binder by Lynn Shokoples for BoBunny featuring the Carnival Collection

First off, I decorated the Gold and Kraft Binder. I wanted to keep the gold circles, so I used my circle punch and some of the sheets from the 6x6 Paper Pad. A fun way to add just a little extra to the binder cover. I then tucked the Tuxedo Alphabet Stickers to make a title in between the circles.

This Fall my family and I went on a healthy eating lifestyle change. We have had a ton of fun trying new recipes and adapting some of our favourites as well. Needless to say I spend a ton of time in the kitchen, so I thought the title "Sideshow" was a good idea, lol.. For my Misc. Me pages I chose two sheets of patterned paper from the collection and cut them into pieces to fit the pockets. It still gives the look of the full sheet, but it easily fits into the 12x12 binder pages. The Tuxedo Alphabet Sticker sheet has three colors on it, so I mixed up the black, white and grey alphabet stickers to add that little something extra to the pockets.

There are so many different ways to use the Alphabet Stickers. You can use them for titles, for borders, or just too add a word here and there on your pockets. For the title I took the "Sideshow" banner and added the "cooking and baking" just above it. Letter stickers are fun, and I think the most fun is not making them straight and in a perfect line.

The White stickers really popped on the grey background. The other fun thing to do is add numbers for words like in the title "Tea 4 Two".

My kitchen is usually in a state of chaos, so I thought the crooked letters really emphasized that.

Here I just chose random letters to frame the photo card. A great way to use up those extra z's and q's.

Down the side of a card, across the top, on the bottom, where ever you want to stick the alphabets is fine. Experiment and have fun.

Here are just some random words that seem to be in my everyday vocabulary lately!

Here I used some random letters again just to frame the chipboard piece and too add just a little something extra.

The photos I printed off an app I use on my phone to take daily photos, so I used the stickers to make larger words on the cards. "Yikes" is what I usually say at the end of the day when the kitchen is a complete disaster, lol. The important thing to remember is, have fun, play around, mix and match your letters and see what fun things you can do!! Until next time.....

Carnival Party Invitations!

Sweet 16 party invitation by Agnieszka Bellaidea

If you saw my projects here before you know I love layers, mixed media ad shabby look. This time I challenged myself to create something different for party theme.
Every party starts from an idea and list of guests so the very next step...yes, invitations!
If you want to create them by yourself it's a good idea to make them not too complicated.
New collection Carnival is full of elements what can be cut off and used while creating cards in no time.

I used letters and numbers from Citrus Alpha Stickers for numbers on my card - 16 and also for envelopes below.
So at the end you have handmade cards but still lots of energy for baking sweets and cooking :)
