8 x 9 Misc Me

No matter the keepsake, Misc Me is the perfect system to help capture and preserve your memories.

Misc Me Recipe Section by Maria Potapovich (mellpellmell)

One section of my Misc Me is "the recipes" that I collect from everywhere: from my friends' advice, from my mother's cook book, from magazines.
At this time I will show exactly the recipes that I found in the fitness magazine. This recipes of beetroot-berry cake and avocado-lime ice cream - it's delicious and very useful! Now it is very convenient to store recipes from magazines. It is very simple and functional for me!

I just picked up a paper background with a suitable color (it is very easy to find almost any desired color of BB paper!) Paste on it the picture and the recipe cut from a magazine - and voila - you're done!

Next spread is a good recipe from the old cookbook. It was difficult to use it because of its age, but in fact recipes are necessary! This is the way I prefer to use it!

I want to confess: I glue thick decorations right on page protector. It is very beautiful to mount ingredient lists with washi tape, I think.

Keepsake Book by Lisa Gregory

I am creating a keepsake album for my daughter using Misc Me. She will use this keepsake to record her memories of going to culinary school and other memories she had growing up in a house where cooking was always a ritual and a pleasure.

The page on the left has a waterfall feature which gives you more "real estate" for journaling those special moments. Below is a picture of my daughter receiving her diploma on the day of her graduation. In between the left and right page is a divider from the Avenues Journal Dividers set. I have attached a small pocket envelope that I created by die cutting one of the papers in the Avenues Note Paper set.

This is a view of the back of the divider and you can see the right page in it's entirety. I attached another one of the envelope pockets I created.

When you turn the page, the left page has 2 more envelope pockets and 2 photos. (It is shown out of the Pocket Protector for photography purposes.) On the right side, the page is from the Journal Dividers set. The divider I used has a pocket that I tucked 3 mini booklets into.

Here is a closeup of the 3 mini booklets. The front and back covers were diecut from the small ATC sized cards in the Avenues Journal Contents set. I adhered the front, back, and middle page to chipboard. There is a total of 3 pages in each mini booklet, and on the insides I
used lined paper from the same set. I used my Cropadile to punch through
the 3 pages, set an eyelet through the front cover, and tied the 3
pages together using twine.

Here is a closeup of the waterfall journaling feature. This created more room for either journaling or adding more pictures.

You can visit my blog for more photos and details on how I constructed these pages featured today. No Matter what you want to journal, Misc Me is the perfect for creating that special keepsake to do it.

Misc Me + Trends = Fabulous Projects

Trends of the day: Feathers, hearts, and doilies.

Wait a second, didn't we see some of these trends yesterday? You sure did!

Take a look at how our designers have taken the same trends and incorporated them into a completely different style of scrapbooking.

Misc Me Recipe Book by Gabrielle Pollacco

Hi, it's Gabrielle here with you today to share a fun little project I recently made up using the amazing Bo Bunny Misc. Me collections.  I just love that there are some really beautiful inserts and designs to create a beautiful Recipes Collection book with Misc. Me!   My oldest daughter Chloe has become quite the little chef, she is almost daily experimenting with cooking and baking.  So I thought it would be a nice thing to make her up a special recipe book to keep all her recipes in.  Once I was done putting the book together (most of it blank for her to work in her choices), I thought I would pop in a few recipes she's tried and add a few photos of her and her sister, baking and cooking over the years.  Just a little something to get her started.

The above photo was taken when Chloe and Meagan went to my sisters house to make Sprinkle cookies, one of their first baking adventures.  The recipe on the right is my dear husbands favourite salad that he's always asking Chloe to make for him.

Chloe and I made these Bass fillet's breaded in Japanese Panko (bread crumbs), I thought it would be fun to show the photo of Chloe holding the fresh Bass fish she and her dad caught on a fishing trip they took (the fish in the photo are the fish she caught).

A fun trend in scrapbooking lately is to use feathers to embellish pages.  I wanted to use some natural elements to decorate with so I thought it would be nice to use feathers to accent the page.

Designer Tip:  I thought it would be fun to try a fun little design trick on these feathers.  I've been seeing curled feathers lately online, but couldn't seem to find any in stores.  So I decided to try curling them myself.  Have you ever tried curling ribbons with the edge of a scissor or the dull side of a butter knife?  You do this the same way!  Just loosen the strands by running your fingers down along the stem.  Then just using the dull edge of a butter knife, start at the base of the strand and run it along the strand (between the knife edge and your thumb).  Easy Peasy!

When I gave my daughter this book, she was so delighted to have a book she can easily keep adding her recipes to.  One of her favorite things about the inserts was the conversion table insert that comes with the recipe cards.

I also included a bunch of the pocket style pages available in the Misc. Me collections so that my daughter can keep some of those 'vintage' handwritten recipes that have been passed down through the generations in their original form.  I know I love to look at those old (slightly food stained) recipes written out in my mothers beautiful handwriting.....the pocket designs are just perfect for this.

Life of A Chef Recipe Files by Lisa Gregory

My daughter is working her way through the culinary world as a chef. Something that is difficult to do as a female in a male dominated field. Especially because she is only 22 years old. So I decided to use Misc Me to chronicle her triumphs and tribulations. The first hurdle was to graduate from the prestigious  Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts. Misc Me is a perfect album with so many choices of papers, cards and inserts to do a life project on just about any subject. But the recipe version was perfect for this project. Here is one of the first sets of pages in the album. The first recipe is Success. And the main ingredient is hard work.

I did some layering from the different collection packs and they all compliment each other to perfection. Mixing and matching with endless possibilities.

I have created a flip card waterfall page, so that my daughter can write down her random memories of what she did in school to stay ahead of the game. And in future pages, I will make these flip cards even wider to fit actual recipes. This book will be filled with her own creations. I love using hearts in my projects, because I feel  it brings a personal warmth to the pages. I just used some corrugated cardboard to cut out my heart and painted it with some shimmering water colors, then tied it using some twine and added a handmade flower. Using the same color watercolor throughout the 2 pages brought the whole page together. I stamped the word Recipes with the wonderful Kraft Alphabet set.

Here is a closeup of the heart on the cover of the flip book. Trends come and go, but I thinks Hearts and doilies will always be around. And the last couple of years I see many projects using doilies. So happy that Bo Bunny has them in 3 sizes. I used the medium and small on these 2 pages.

Here is a closeup showing the flip book opened up. The smaller pieces in the Note Paper pack were perfect for this part of my project.

I love the wooden adornments in the Kraft Collection. I left them in their natural state.

I added a little wooden scrabble G (for my daughters name, Gabriella) in the middle of the smaller clock.I used one of the note pages and punched out some flowers, stacked them and painted the middle with watercolor. I also punched out the leaves and used the same watercolors as in the flowers and corrugated heart.

Misc Me Calendar (Avenues Organizer) by Evgenia Petzer

This time I decided to use Misc Me as a simple planner for 2014. Because I plan to carry it with me in a bag, I left the cover with its natural look. And you will see further down, I really kept it simple. I mean REALLY. SIMPLE.

I love that you can also buy the pages as simple notepads and it provides you with lots of space to write.

These dividers have fabulous pockets in them.

And the files will work perfectly for me to keep my bills and other stuff that I need to carry around.

I love the months' dividers and for now I assembled it like that, but I plan to go through the used papers after each month is finished and to throw some away, so I will still have space for new months to come.

The Avenues Misc Me

Today we have two of our designers, Irene and Romy, sharing their take on how to use Misc Me with The Avenues Misc Me collection.

Something Worth Documented - Misc Me by Irene Tan

This is a Misc Me album which I am using as a "Something Worth Documented" journal book. It is a casual book where I've kept the design very simple. Here is the cover of my journal.

Today, I'll show you some of the pages in the "Street Art" section of this journal.

There is always something in our lives worth documented and you might need a go to a journal or book for it. The Misc. Me album is perfect for this. It allows you to add photographs to it and has tons of journaling pieces for you to use. The transparent pockets are so fun to use and the gorgeous designs on the papers saves you tons of time from decorating it. These are just part of my journal, I have dividers for each different topics.

Book of Me - Misc. Me by Romy Veul

When I first saw Misc Me, I immediately knew how I wanted to this wonderful product collection. Some years ago many people kept a BOM, aka a "Book of Me". It's a book with some random facts about yourself (favourite food, favourite song, favourite colours etc.) and some daily shots that you like. Because we all sometimes have those moments that we don't feel really well, I decided to make a book with all kinds of things that make me happy. Thus, when I'm feeling a little down sometimes, I have my Misc Me book that makes me smile.

I started off by decorating my cover, but actually kept it rather simple. I just added a Noteworthy die-cut, a sticker from the Combo Sticker sheet and some jewels on top of it.

I just love the fact that Misc Me. allows for adding lots of layers of paper and sleeves. I added some of the dividers in between the sleeves and decorated them with cut out birds and clocks.

In the sleeves I collected photos, journaling and some quotes that I love. I also decorated some of the Misc Me. cards with die-cuts, cut out images and quotes to add some nice touches to my Misc Me. pages.

On this page I journaled about some of my favourite meals and snacks. The spoon and fork die-cuts from the Noteworthy package appeared to be a really nice touch on this page.
I usually don't really like my handwriting, but for my Misc Me. project I made an exception and journaled by hand instead of typing my journaling. I found that it gave my album a bit of a personal touch.

As you can see, there are lots of possibilities on how to use the Misc Me. collection. I hope I inspired you to also make an album about the things that make you happy!

November Misc. Me by Lynn Shokoples

Can you believe it's the last day of 2013? This year has gone by so quickly. My goal for 2013 was to work on my Misc.Me journal every month and I'm happy to say I've done it! This month I've chosen to work with the new Pincushion collection. The colors are so soft and the elements are just so adorable! These pages came together in no time.

I just can't say enough about the double sided cardstock! All the cards were cut out and then I just use the pattern paper on the back to place my photo on. Easy right? With the Noteworthy, stickers and the layers chipboard.. there are so many fun things to choose from.

As you can see here in Canada winter came with a vengeance, so I have tons of snow pictures already! I'm busy working on my December pages and then I'm happy to say I have a whole year of photos, journaling and memories for 2013! Now the decision is... what to do for 2014! Happy New Year everyone!

Misc Me The Avenues Organizer/Diary for 2014 by Denise van Deventer

I wanted a diary/organizer for 2014 and so when I saw this Misc.Me binder and goodies, I just knew that I wanted to create a diary/organizer for myself. I am a person who likes to keep all my info etc in one place, so I decided to have my diary, journal and personals all in this one binder and I am so pleased that I did this. I cannot wait to start using it and I just know it is going to bring me much joy!

I love pretty books and so I wanted a pretty cover, which will inspire me to pick it up everyday and really use it, as it is meant to be used!

I am also a very upbeat person and I love inspiring quotes and notes, which allow me to start my day in a positive frame of mind.  So my inside cover consists of that, along with my name card, which really makes this book so personal to me.

I obviously will fill in notes and dates as the year starts and progresses.

For each month I have the beautiful divider, then I have the weekly contents page, along with some notepapers for my notes and journalling and then I have prepared some pockets for photo's and thoughts! I love this combination of uses and love that this Misc Me is so versatile and user friendly.

I have used both sides of my pocket cards, so that I get more use out of the cards, as well as keeping down the bulk in my organizer. Stamps, stickers and petals are so great with Misc Me, because they add features, without adding bulk.

The time I have spent creating these pages has been very therapeutic, in that I have had time to consider the year ahead and the things that I want to document, remember and keep. In a way, it has been a preparation for things that lie ahead, and I am excited and happy about 2014.

You can make these organizers/diaries as personal as you want, as simple as you want or as complex and integrated as you want! Whatever works for you! That's the beauty of it!
