Time for Tea Canvas with Denise

Hello BoBunny Fans!

It's Denise here today to share a mixed media canvas with you using the cute and gorgeous Early Bird collection.

Early Bird_Time for Tea Canvas_Denise_11 Jun_01

I loved the idea of making a kitchen canvas, based on one of the things I really love and that is a cup of tea! So the "Time for Tea" canvas came to life.

Early Bird_Time for Tea Canvas_Denise_11 Jun_02

I did a white washed effect on the background of the canvas and then added crackled stenciling, some texture, more paint and some stamping.

Early Bird_Time for Tea Canvas_Denise_11 Jun_03

I added some extra wording too, which tied in nicely with the theme of Time for Tea.

Early Bird_Time for Tea Canvas_Denise_11 Jun_04

I added some die-cut leaves around the cups and teapot, to carry through the styling and also added some pearlescent and jewels to the centres of the cups and teapot.

Lastly, here is a close-up of the crackled stenciling and the stamping around the edge of the canvas.

So "Time for Tea" anyone? I would love to share a cuppa and some creativity with you!
Have a fabulous day!

Destination Happiness Layout with Denise

Hello BoBunny Fans!

It's Denise here today to share a mixed media layout using the gorgeous World Traveler collection.

World Traveler_Destination Happiness Layout_Denise_28 May_01

I used quite a few stamps on the background to compliment the design. I really was so pleased that I could use the Dandelion stamp on this page as it fit perfectly with this theme.

World Traveler_Destination Happiness Layout_Denise_28 May_02

I used noteworthy pieces and stickers to create this little word cluster. I also added some twine and rope to these little tags.

World Traveler_Destination Happiness Layout_Denise_28 May_03

I handmade the purple little flowers from dies and BoBunny cardstock and then used pearlescent for the flower centres.

World Traveler_Destination Happiness Layout_Denise_28 May_04

On the bottom of the photo I layered some more noteworthy pieces. These little clusters add points of interest across the page.

Lastly, here is a close-up of some of the chippie pieces and some more of the handmade purple flowers and the background stamping.

This layout took me back to a place of serenity, relaxation and such fabulous family times. I love the African Bushveld and this layout made me long for fresh mornings, fly-fishing and warm sherries next to the fire!

Thanks so much for stopping by the BoBunny blog today and we really hope to see you back tomorrow.

12 x 12 Layout "Angel" with Video Tutorial featuring Black Tie Affair with Denise

Hello BoBunny Fans!

It's Denise here today, to share a mixed media layout with you, using Black Tie Affair.  This layout was inspired and created in remembrance of our sweet and beloved dog, Blossom.  Gone too soon at 15 months old. I felt that this post would be a lovely tribute and lasting keepsake, showcasing two of my favorite photos of her.

Black Tie Affair_Mixed Media Layout_Denise_12 Apr_01

I used the We R Flower Punch Board to get a base collection of petals, then fussy cut the flowers and leaves from the patterned paper, to add to this page.  Both techniques are so pretty and just add beautiful depth, texture and detail to the layers.

Black Tie Affair_Mixed Media Layout_Denise_12 Apr_02

Below is a close-up of the punched flowers, as well as the laser cut chipboard pieces.  Next, I added some highlights with a white gel pen, some strategically placed droplets of watered down white gesso and a spritz of gold glimmer.  There is a full set of detailed visual step by steps in the video presented below.

I would love it if you had a look, and hopefully you can see the creative process and be inspired by it.

Oversized Card and Tag Duo - Featuring Black Tie Affair and We R Mini ABC Punch with Denise

Hello Everyone!

It's Denise here today, to share a little love and a little Black Tie Affair. I created a card and a large tag with this beautiful, black and white collection. There is something that is just stunning with stark black and white, and just teeny spalshes of color.  For the first card, I picked the lighter shades from BTA.

Black Tie Affair_Love Card_Denise_05 Apr_01

Then for my next step, I created the card, using the super Mini ABC punch from We R. I then added some detail with fussy cut items and small die-cut blooms from BoBunny cardstock.

Black Tie Affair_Love Card_Denise_05 Apr_02

Here is the large tag, again, using fussy cut elements.

Black Tie Affair_Love Tag_Denise_05 Apr_03

There are so many pretty elements that can be fussy cut from the patterened papers, that it is hard to know which one's to choose!

I used a BoBunny stencil and black crackle paste for the title.

 Black Tie Affair_Love Tag_Denise_05 Apr_04

For the large tag, I also chose one extra colour to give the tag some pop and here I chose a Cerise pink. The little details were added with BoBunny pearlescent and a white gel pen.

I will definitely use this card and tag as a combo and will also use black and white gift paper for the gift.  I just know that it will be elegant and beautiful!

Thanks so much for stopping by the BoBunny blog today and we really hope to see you back tomorrow.

Have a super day!

Happy Easter Greetings - Handmade Cards featuring Cottontail, Double Dot Damask and BoBunny Essentials Dies with Denise

Hello BoBunny Fans!

It's Denise here today, to share some cheerful Easter greeting cards with you, using some tried and true BoBunny staple items along with the gorgeous Cottontail Collection. This set has elements for Easter and all occasion spring, with a distinct "vintage" flavor.

Here is the first of my two cards that I created for you today.  In addition to Cottontail, I used Double Dot Damask and a couple of my favorite go-to dies.

Cotton Tail_Easter Card_Denise_29 Mar_01

I used dies and layeres lots of die-cuts on this first card to create the center and focal point. I also used BoBunny cardstock to create the little blue flowers and the fresh leaves. Here's a closer look at that center element piece, with the stamped sentiment.

Cotton Tail_Easter Card_Denise_29 Mar_03

For the second card, I really went to town with fussy cutting and just used beautiful, patterned papers to create it. The pretty patterns on the papers caught my eye and I just knew that I would have to use them.

Cotton Tail_Easter Card_Denise_29 Mar_02

I also fussy cut those small, pretty orange flowers and then used some Pearlescents for the middle of the flowers.

Cotton Tail_Easter Card_Denise_29 Mar_04

This card ended up with various layers, but all from patterned paper and so even though it is detailed, it is really economical, as I did not need any embellishments.

I hope this will really inspire you to make the most of your staple patterned papers too.

Thanks so much for stopping by the BoBunny blog today.

"Today is a Celebration" - Handmade Card featuring Double Dot Designs and BoBunny Craft Dies with Denise

Hello Everyone!

Spring has finally arrived and I am feeling inspired by the lovely coliors of the season! Today I am sharing this card, using the favorite Double Dot paper,  many of the gorgeous BoBunny Essentials and some little bits and pieces from my stash for extra touches of style and texture. It hints of a celebration on the title so this can easily be given for any type of occasion you want to celebrate!

Double Dot_Birthday Card_Denise_20 Mar_01

For this card, I made use of various BoBunny Double Dot cardstock colors. This Double Dot cardstock is so unlike any other cardstock and is so pretty!  I am sure is often thought to be patterned paper.  I also used the cardstock to hand make the flowers and the various die-cut leaves with BoBunny Craft Dies.  I used a few of my best tried and true mixed media techniques to dress up the edges of the flowers.

Double Dot_Birthday Card_Denise_20 Mar_02

I made use of one of the gorgeous kraft pieces and painted it white to fit with the colour palette. I then added some BoBunny pearls, to finish it off.

I always like to keep a few handmade cards at the ready cards to use them as I need them.

Charmed_Mixed Media Layout_Denise_2 Feb_01

I layered up various patterned papers to create the base. a couple of different mixed mediums to create the multicolored and metallic splatters.  Then, I added fussy cut bits and lots of die-cuts to create the background, along with stickers and stamps. You can see a close-up view of this on the photo below.

Charmed_Mixed Media Layout_Denise_2 Feb_02

I created some handmade flowers from BoBunny cardstock and die-cuts, which I used on this page too.  These are so easy to make and can be made in any colour to suit your project.

Vintage Art Journal "Believe in Yourself" featuring Charmed with Denise

Hello BoBunny Fans!

It's Denise here today, to share an art journal page with you, using the gorgeous Charmed Collection.  The rich but subtle color palette and the dainty page elements really speak to me.

Charmed_Art Journal Page_Denise_27 Jan_01

I had started a new smaller art journal and this perfect sentiment with which to start.

Charmed_Art Journal Page_Denise_27 Jan_02

I used patterned papers of Charmed, along with stickable stencils, acrylic paints and distress inks and oxides. I also fussy cut the various elements for these pages, to create the design and lend lots of textures through the layers and the style of the Art Journal itself.

Charmed_Art Journal Page_Denise_27 Jan_03

I love this sentiment and really wanted to use it as the main theme of this project.  With anything art or life in general, one just has to start somewhere and then believe in yourself to get it done and completed. I also believe in a little "magic" and these fairies talk to that too! ;-)

Charmed_Art Journal Page_Denise_27 Jan_04

So have you tried some art journaling? If not...give it a try. Just believe in yourself and start somewhere.

Have a super day and hoping to see you back tomorrow.

Christmas Card and Tag Duo featuring On This Day with Denise

Hello BoBunny Fans

It's Denise here today, to share a matching Christmas Card and tag with you, using the gorgeous On This Day collection.

Firstly, here's the card.

On This Day_Christmas Card & Tag_Denise_05 Dec_01

Here is the tag.

On This Day_Christmas Card & Tag_Denise_05 Dec_02

I used similar elements and vintage styling to match this card and tag and I will definitely be using them on a Christmas gift this year.

Christmas is always glittery and so I added some Glamour Metallic paint to the trims, as well as the flowers.

On This Day_Christmas Card & Tag_Denise_05 Dec_03

I always used a swirl stamp, on both projects, which added some more vintage glamour.

I fussy cut the title for the card and really gave it some dimension, with double sided tape. I layered up the petals too and completed the design, around the greeting.

Holiday Card Ideas! featuring Carousel Christmas with Denise

Hello Everyone!

It's Denise here today, to share some Christmas Cards using the fabulous Carousel Christmas collection. I made these two, oversized  festive cards.  On thing I love about this collection is the vintage feel, and the non-traditional color scheme.  Something about those two things, really speaks to me and brings out the creative in me!

Carousel Christmas_Christmas Cards_Denise_03 Dec_01

I fussy cut some of the gorgeous elements and then layered them up, for pretty clustering. On the first card I added some twine on the cinnamon cluster, to give it some dimension.

Carousel Christmas_Christmas Cards_Denise_03 Dec_03

For the second card, I made some little white flowers, with pearl centres. Again, I layered up die-cut pieces and fussy cut elements for the design. I used some Pearlescent on the leaf edges too, to give it a snowy effect.
