Early Bird Spring Layout with Marilyn

Hello BoBunny Fans! It's Marilyn here today to share a Spring layout that I created using the new beautiful Early Bird collection.

 Spring is my favorite season. I love the flowers, the colors of the season, and all of the butterflies and birds flying around because they make me smile. The Early Bird collection shows all of this! It was hard to select the papers because I love all them, but I chose this green paper with the handwriting design, to which I gave textures with the stencil and modeling paste.

I cut out the butterflies and flowers from the papers.

These beauties are the granddaughters of a friend and I think the photo goes perfect with this collection.

Once I created the design on my page with the different die cuts pieces, doilies, etc.. I added some jewels swirls and some pearl dots for a feminine touch on my page.

I love giving dimension to my projects so I added adhesive foam dots on the back of the flowers and doilies so I can highlight these elements and give more interest on certain details.

Yesterday Bobetts Vick and Liz had a wonderful time visiting 5 of the 9 stores participating in the Utah Shop Hop! Here are some fun pictures of our adventure!

Our first stop was Treasured Memories in West Valley, UT! We loved the enthusiasm of the shop hoppers!

 

 

Our next stop was  Heartfelt Creations in Sandy, UT They have an incredible crop room!

The Country Loft Gals from Lehi, UT were so fun! The western theme made for an adorable picture!

 



Next we headed down to Scrapbook Central in Payson, UT (which doubles as Copy Central!)



 



 

Walking into Pebbles In My Pocket in Orem, UT brought a fun surprise! The Express the Moment retreat ladies were making their last minute purchases before they headed to their retreat sight.

Me and My Boy by Denise van Deventer

I created this layout using 4 collections - Baby Bump, Pop Quiz, The Avenues and Modern Miss. I love that these collections are so versatile and can be mixed up to create a page, with such a great, finished look.

 

I went with a fresh and modern design, which compliments the 3 main collections nicely. In this design, I was also able to use the fabulous washi tape, which is my new "go to" BoBunny supply! I simply love it!

Since this page is about my son and I, I kept the flowers to a minimum. Here I  used BoBunny petals,  more of the chipboards and diecuts as embelishments, to keep the styling more general. I also used stamps on the background to add little touches of interest.

This little journalling chipboard was just perfect for my thoughts. It really tells the story of this page and photo! My son gave me the "thumbs up" on this page, so I was really thrilled about that!

My Girl by Kaori Fujimoto

I used a combination of Baby Bump and Pincushion collections, because "Gray" fit in both collections, by using a gray background, we connected the two collections.

Design of pregnant women were drawn to the paper. But because I have used a photo of my daughter, I have placed a photo to hide a pregnant woman.

I added the yellow flag of Baby Bump collection to the chipboard banner of Pincushion collection.

Butterflies by Bernii Miller

Well I love a good scrapbooking challenge as much as the next person, and love it even more when I get to use brand new BoBunny collections!! For this layout I mixed the Modern Miss woodgrain paper background, with the soft and delicate Primrose collection. 

 

I took the time to fussy cut the "Primrose Bliss" paper, which is full of these amazing butterflies in all different sizes and in gorgeous soft tones. Against the richness of the Modern Miss wood grain paper the butterflies really stand out.

I then simply used my photo as a starting point and layered all the butterflies around until I was happy with the feel. Then for extra dimension I used some foam dots and either used matching butterflies , or slightly smaller butterflies to " double up" on some butterflies.

Remember back in the day when we used to use decorative scissors or cut our photos into star and heart shapes?!

Some trends come and go and others make it full circle! Even though you don't see many photos in the shape of a heart these days, hearts are one of our design teams favorite trends!

I choose a doily and wood as the trends to use on my card. The reason I like a doily and wood is they give a soft and natural impression. I also think that the doily and wood suits the Pincushion collection very well.

To make this card I chose the following trends: doilies and gold. The flower is handmade and I applied golden paste to it. I also applied touches of golden paste to other places on the card.

Butterflies Card by Solange Marques

I love watercolor, and I could not stop using this trend. On this card, I used doilies, gold and hearts. I applied a little acrylic gesso and I cleaned it with a baby wipe. After I used watercolor and I spilled some water on it. I applied golden paste on the butterfly's resin.

Love Card by Ulrika Wandler

I love feathers, but I haven't used them as much as I wanted to. Now when I got the chance, I paired them with wood and gold. And a piece of the cool Zip-A-Dee Doodle paper. I have used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the feathers and the frame.
