DIY Recipe Book with BoBunny Papers

Hello BoBunny Friends, it's Elena here today!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with your family. So I thought it's time for celebrating the harvest too. The Cook Book is a good idea to collect all your favorite recipes.

I made a fabric cover that I decorated and sewed the elements from the Time and Place collection .

It was easy to do and to stitch everything to the cover.

I also made a few dividers to separate the recipes and again, was very busy fussy cutting.

I combined only 3 papers sheets - February, April and November

For my background I used Double Dot papers.

But I also added a few scraps left the Christmas cards I made from December paper sheet.

The flowers and the berries are so wonderful to use for the cook book, of course!

Once Upon a Lifetime 12 x 12 Mixed Media Layout with Elena

Hello BoBunny Friends!

It's Elena here today to share the layout I made using Once Upon a Lifetime collection. I chose this collection to highlight a trip I took with my family.

Though this collection seems to be primarily driven by a vintage/heritage theme for me, I decided to create a mixed media layout in lighter tones. I wanted to feature this photo of my two kids to remember this day of sightseeing.  They had so much fun, but you can tell from the story this photo tells, they were absolutely exhausted!!

I started with applying gesso and modeling paste on my background and then misted those areas with glimmer color sprays.

I also stamped the butterflies images on the patterned papers and cut them out for added depth.

I fussy cut the flowers and arranged my paper layers.

I like the soft pastel tones and used them for accent color and additional layers for my layout.

Thanks for popping by the blog today!  Come see us again soon!

Elena

SUPER CUTE- A Simple and Easy Mixed Media Layout featuring Summer Mood with Elena

Hello BoBunny Friends,

I've got a new layout to share with you that I made using Summer Mood collection.  This line is          just FULL of bright happy colors, citrus accents, pinwheels and oodles of summery icons.

Layout_Summer_Mood_Elena_Apr_28_01.jpg

It's all about summer.  It's the best,  tasty, lazy and carefree time and I look forward to this season all year! That's why I decided to use the photo of my youngest son while he was enjoying his birthday cake.  The picture coordinates so well with the color story in this paper line.

Layout_Summer_Mood_Elena_Apr_28_02.jpg

To start with I chose the background paper that matches the colors in my photo, and then arrange several layers.

I really love the lemons paper sheet and used it as a main background piece for my photo.

I also drew the lemon on the background page using my acrylic paints.

Vintage Inspired Handmade Card Set - Once Upon a Lifetime Cards - with Elena

Hello  Welcome back to the BoBunny Blog today! It's Elena here to share the cards I made using the brand new Once Upon A Lifetime Collection.

Cards_Once_Upon_A_Lifetime_Elena_Apr20_Image1.jpg

I started cutting out the frames from Generations paper sheet, they have the image inside the frames, however I will use those in one of my next steps in the project.

Cards_Once_Upon_A_Lifetime_Elena_Apr20_Image2.jpg

I wanted to show the beautiful papers inside the frames, so I made my 2 flowers clusters on the right and on the left of the frame.

Cards_Once_Upon_A_Lifetime_Elena_Apr20_Image3.jpg

I made the large paper flower using Flower Punch Board choosing the smallest XXS size and topped this flower with a few more flowers and Flourish Jewels.

I also cut out the leaf using the same Flower Punch Board, it's quite simple and you only need to start with a square piece of paper.

The papers have beautiful patterns in this collection, so I couldn't resist and made some fussy cutting of the roses and vines, that I placed on the top of the paper leaf too.

Well , now I am looking forward to start working on the family albums with this Once Upon a Lifetime collection!

Until next time!

Elena

Dessert Cookbook Dividers - Featuring Double Dot Damask and Stay Awhile with Elena

Hello BoBunny Fans,

I used to cook a lot in the past, but now I prefer to create more than spending this time at the kitchen. However I always like making cookbook dividers and recipe notes for my friends, so I get to combine my hobbies!

Today, since I have a go-to Desserts Recipe book for all my favorite sweet recipes,  I've added a few dividers to share that I've made for just this purpose.

For my background I used the new Double Dot Damask papers. It was so difficult to choose only one color from the range, but since I wanted to make several dividers , it was a good opportunity to use several at once.

For my embellishments and paper layers I used a lot of fussy cutting from the Stay Awhile papers. There are so many cute houses and flowers there to cut out, and lend itself nicely to the homey feel of the Stay Awhile paper collection.

However for my pages I made die cutting too , and used a few BoBunny dies, this beautiful Mandala Die that I topped with Emoji Die cut - just for a touch of fun.

Also I wanted to add some mixed media, so I primed my background with white gesso, then I applied the Stencil Texture Paste using Starling Stickable Stencil.
and misted with Gold Glimmer Spray and added the splatters  of Frost Glimmer Spray with a brush.

I used the both sides of the Double Dot Damask paper.  As you can see, one side is a classic subtle damask pattern, and the flip side has a medium scale, layered and antiqued dot patteen, so it was fun to mix them.

I wanted to maintain the desserts theme of my recipe book, so I played mostly with cupcakes and coffee dies. I made a few cupcakes die cuts using Cupcake Dies.

I like the color palette of Stay Awhile collection, it can be used for many occasions, but it really reminds me something cozy and warm, something about the kitchen

After all my dividers have been done, I added the coloring with my brush and the sprays, just to add some accents

Stay_Awhile_Recipe_book_Elena_Mar15_10.jpg

I like how it looks on the Double Dot Damask papers

Stay_Awhile_Recipe_book_Elena_Mar15_11.jpg

Not only cakes and coffee makes me feel like Sweet Tooth, an ice cream , this what all the kids adore.
I've added the ice cream die cuts that I made using Summer Picnic Dies

Oh BOY! Simple Scrapbooking for Boys featuring Stay Awhile - with Elena

Hello BoBunny Friends,

Welcome to the BoBounny blog today! It's me, Elena here with you today to share this 12 x 12 simple scrapbooking layout I designed and created with the new Stay Awhile collection.

Stay_Awhile_Layout_Elena_March6_01.jpg

My favorite thing about the Stay Awhile collection is the clean lines, tone on tone patterns and of course the deep, cozy colors and homey sentiments. The perfect all-occaision line, it really makes it simple to tell a story in my layout.  I especially love creating BOY themed layouts with this line!

To show how simple and easy it is to create my page, I  haven't used ANY embellishments.  I trimmed and pieced together a few paper layers - mixing patterns, dots and stripes, then cut out a few houses from the paper to give this the look of a countryside village.

Stay_Awhile_Layout_Elena_March6_02.jpg

I started with tearing (purposely kind of uneven and rough) a long strip of green paper and then mixed mostly the cut out cards for my layers.  Then, I trimmed little bits of other accents from the papers too.

Stay_Awhile_Layout_Elena_March6_03.jpg

I like the deep blue, plum, burnt orange and brown colors this collection has and it's quite easy to create a simple but dynamic look with your project.

Stay_Awhile_Layout_Elena_March6_04.jpg

To keep my layout simple I decided against adding a full title.  I added only the tab sticker to add the date later.  Wanted to be certain the focus is is on the one photo of this sweet little boy.

Stay_Awhile_Layout_Elena_March6_05.jpg

For the finishing touches, I added some sticker arrows for an extra splash of color and design!  These little elements are always just right!
