Pinspiration BoBunny Style

So many of us love going to Pinterest for inspiration. Whether it's for a new recipe, hair styles, or DIY projects, you are bound to find something that will peak your interest. Today we asked Romy and Gaby to share how Pinterest has inspired their latest BoBunny creations.

Gaby shared that she really loves doing the Pinspiration assignment. In fact, she actually has a board on Pinterest called a "Passion for Doorways" She collects photos of old and unique weathered doors, so you can imagine how much she must love The Avenues collection!

"I loved the weathered woods in the Pinspiration photo and I adore the soft colors (cream, sage and vintage aqua) so I used these colors in my page design."

"My oldest daughter has been helping out this summer working for her dad (landscaping), she just loves working outdoors and learning all about plants...that and riding the mower.

Designer TIP: "When I find a collection that has lots of images on the papers that I feel would make great embellishments (like the clock, shutter and door papers in The Avenues collection) I take a moment before I begin scrapping and cut out the images on the paper and keep them in a little baggie, so that I have them at my fingertips when I'm putting a page together."

"Here I put some of the cut images from the patterned papers and tucked them behind the edges of the photo."

Designer Tip: "I like to take design elements that I see in the patterned paper, such as the strips of washi tape in the background paper and repeat it in my page design....here I used some neutral strips of washi tape on the edges of the layout and around the photo of my daughter."

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: The Avenues, Stripes (backside), Clocks, Shutters, Doors /The Avenues
Cardstock: Vintage Decaf Dot
Trinkets: The Avenues
Brads: The Avenues
Chipboard: 12x12 Chipboard The Avenues
Stamps: It Is Written, Geometric Patterns, Stained Textures
Stickers: The Avenues

Romy loves how Pinterest images can actually be a great inspiration for a card design or colour scheme and she found two images that went really well with two of the new Bo Bunny collections: The Avenues and Autumn Song.  She was amazed by how quickly these cards came together, because the Pinterest images made it so easy to pick a colour combination or to choose a design for her cards.

"I just loved the neutral colours (beige and cream) in the background and the soft pink and blue in the little details. On my card I decided to use the same colour scheme: neutral tones with a hint of pink and blue."

Designer Tip: "Don't be afraid to layer embellishments! On the left part of my card I stapled a chipboard medaillon onto a chipboard tag and also added a 3D banner sticker on top of it. By layering embellishments, you can turn one embellishment into a real eye-catcher."

"My second card features the amazing Autumn Song collection. I always love seeing autumn photos and this one from Pinterest immediately caught my attention. It was both the colours and the overall design of the Pinterest image that inspired me to make my card. I loved the red butterfly flying among all the coloured leaves. I followed this design and also made a collage of leaves on my card with a little red butterfly among them. Can you spot it in the right upper corner?"

Designer Tip: "I clustered together some of the tiny leaves from the Noteworthy package in the corners of the chipboard frame. To do so I gently removed the chipboard sunflowers (left below corner) from the frame and adhered the leaves in this corner. I then glued down the sunflowers on top of the leaves."

Live the Life You Imagined

By: Lynn Shokoples

"I was inspired by the beautiful soft pastel colors of the pinks and greys in the photo. I added some punchwork and some stamping with the new Bo Bunny stamps in white to soften the edges of photo background and give it a girly feel. I also love using the stickers as a title for my layouts. I included some hidden journaling all about Ashley and how much she means to me. It's so wonderful to imagine where life will take her."

A little PINspiration

Today's assignment was fun.
Lynn and Evgenia picked their own PIN from pinterest to be inspired by,
then created a project from that inspiration.
They used Rejoice and Powder Mountain with their projects, and they
show off the lines perfectly!

Lynn said:
"I chose this photo because I loved the greens and reds with that pop of white!
It reminded me on the Rejoice Collection.  I tried to incorporate that into my
layout with the white stitching and the white doily.
Just perfect for the photo of my kids trying to look sweet and innocent!"

Best Friends

oh boy.. I saw Agnieszka's pencils and didn't look any further. The circular shape reminded me of a ball and since Noah started soccer training with his best friend I knew I had to scrap that

I made a pretty simple boyish layout using lots of circular shapes. Not only in the punches but also in the patterned paper and in the sticker and jewel embellishments.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Vines, Pendent, Trellis, dot, stripe, cut outs / Serenade
Combo Stickers: Serenade
Cardstock stickers: Tresured Friend/ Serenade

A little PINspiration

For all of us 'pin' addicts...
today's layouts were inspired by this pin..

Two reasons I picked this picture
1) It's just fun
2) I love farkle  (anyone else?)

 These layouts are sooo great!
They are going to pinspire you to make fun things!

You Color My World
Juliana Michaels

Juliana says, "I was most definitely inspired by the bright bold colors framing the black and white in the center. I choose to use a black and white photograph, stickers, noteworthy and background paper to offset the bright colors and to represent the white in the center of the image. I then cut rectangles from various Bo Bunny Dot papers, rounded the corners and placed them on the background paper to mimic the colored groupings. I then centered my photo and added the title, stickers and buttons."

 Bo Bunny Supplies:
Cardstock: Double Dot in Buttercup, Licorice, Sugar and Grape; Vintage Dot in Orange Citrus; Dot Stripe in Blueberry and Passion Fruit; Dot Journal in Kiwi and Dot Flourish in Wild Berry
Noteworthy: Enchanted
Stickers: Enchanted
Buttons: Various older Bo Bunny Buttons

I love the way this layout shows off the Double Dot papers!  They are such a staple at my house.
Have you guys used DD papers? Yes? No?

Sweet taste of Summer
by: Julie Wolek-Tucker

Julie says: "I was inspired by the colors and all the square elements in the photo -- and I decided to make a lot of different squares using the Hello Sunshine collection, and create a frame around my photo!"

"Cardstock stickers can make a perfect frame for your photos! You can use them to highlight the part of the photo you really want to concentrate on!"

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Paper: Hello Sunshine, Breezy, Sweet Pea, 6x6 pad
Stickers: Hello Sunshine, Dimensional
Rub ons: Hello Sunshine
Noteworthy: Hello Sunshine

I love how Julie left random spaces in the squares to mimic the dice.
I will definitely be trying this technique.

A year in the Life
Robbie Herring
Robbie says: "I was inspired by the squares and by the dice. To me, the dice look like a whole sea of polka dots! For my layout I incorporated a lot of squares with the pictures and added 3 different polka dot ribbons."
and then she gave this great tip...
"When using lots of small photos, consider printing them as a contact sheet. I also named my pictures by the month they were taken and added that to the contact sheet."
(That's brilliant and I never would have thought of it)

Bo Bunny Suppies:
Patterned Paper: Little Miss Hannah and Little Miss Gracie
Stickers: Little Miss Combo, Garden of Friends and Sweet Girl
Brads: Little Miss
Petals: Little Miss
Double Dot Paper: TuTu Dot and Chocolate Dot
Double Dot Ribbon: Chocolate and Kiwi

 Top of the World
Tara Orr

Tara said, "I was completely inspired by the bright colours of this PIN as it reminded me of a rainbow. I wanted to do something that incorporated a happy, summery feel to it so I decided to scrap this photo of my daughter and husband in our backyard a few weeks back."

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Hello Sunshine, Breezy, Cut Outs/Hello Sunshine
Layered Chipboard: Ambrosia
Noteworthy: Hello Sunshine

I love these layouts so much and I love how different these girls are inspired by the same thing.

Go get your supplies our and go with your inspiration while it's fresh in your head and make sure to share it with us when you get a chance!!  Thanks for hanging out with us!!!
