Field Trip Friday

Who remembers what field trip Friday is???
In case you forgot, I'll remind you...
This is when the girls think outside that proverbial box
and meander into unknown territory.

Check it out:

Happy Girls
by: Sarah Eclavea
Sarah says: "One thing I never do is stamp! So for this field trip Friday I got out my stamps. I stamped a hexagon border around the cream paper directly on my layout. I also stamped the birdcage and birds on paper and cut them out to adhere on my layout."
 Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Brenna, Allie, Dorothy, Gracie, Cut outs/ Little Miss
Stickers: 12x12 Combo Sticker, Dimensional Stickers, Sweet Girl/ Little Miss
Stamps: Hello Sunshine and Little Miss
Jewels: Little Miss
Buttons: Little Miss

Grattis/congratulations
Mahlin Wiggur
Mahlin says: "Making card is really not my cup of the, but making cards AND stamping is so far away from my comfort zone, but I think It turned out well. I stayed with the color combo I trust so that might have helped."

 Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper:Fireflies, Dot/Camp-A-Lot
Cardstock: Double Dot in Aquamarine Dot and Orange Citrus Dot
Clearstamps: Camp-A-Lot
Jewels: Hello Sunshine
Buttons: Camp-A-Lot
Chipboard: Hello Sunshine 12 x 12
Petals: Hello Sunshine, Camp-A.Lot

Racoon Card
by: Mahlin's son
(she says "and my son wanted to make a card of his own..)
 SO ADORABLE!!!

Beach Sign
by: Julie Tucker-Wolek
Julie says: "I love the concept of Field Trip Friday! A year ago, you could have told me to make a card, and I would have laughed at you! I was NOT a card maker! Couldn't fathom working on something that small! lol! Now, I make cards and everything else in between. When I thought about this challenge, I thought, what haven't I done? What will stretch my artistic side? And the answer came pretty easily, make something altered with a wood base! I have walked through local craft stores, always admiring the bare wood home decor items, but NEVER bought one! I never could get the nerve to do one! I can alter ANYTHING, but these items always evaded me. So I decided to buy TWO items for this challenge from my craft store and alter them with the beautiful Bo Bunny papers!"
Supplies used:
Paper: Hello Sunshine Breezy, stripe, 6x6
Jewels: Hello Sunshine
Petals: Hello Sunshine
Stickers: Hello Sunshine dimensional
Buttons: Hello Sunshine

Designer Tip: When altering wood items, I suggest painting them first! That way any items you don't cover in paper will still have color that will work with your theme!

Welcome Oar
by: Julie Tucker-Wolek

"Next, I have a wooden oar I bought and used the ever FUN Camp-A-Lot papers on! This was so much fun to make! I painted it yellow, and then found out that Bo Bunny's rub-ons work PERFECTLY on wood!!"
 Designer Tip:
Using rub-ons on wood is even easier than paper! If the wood is smooth (and mine was, even before painting it), then just hold the rub-ons just like you do for paper and rub them on! Easy peasy and they look awesome on the wood!
Supplies:
Paper: Camp-A-Lot Fireflies, in the woods, leaves 6x6 pad
Rub ons: Camp-a-lot

Awesome projects right???  Now it's your turn to do something you would not normally do.

We ♥ Banners

We are loving the banner trend around here, so we wanted to share
a few ideas with you for a little inspiration.  Cuz who doesn't need inspiration, right?

By Luzma

Tip: I always paint with a marker (brown in this case) all the edges of the papers, stickers and chipboard to add more dimension.Give it a try you will be surprised....

Sisters
By Samantha Wright

Designer tip: Take inspiration from the patterned papers you are using. When tasked with this banner assignment, I knew which paper collection I'd like to use, so it was just a case of brainstorming and "paging through" my paper stack when I noticed the row of little bird cages on the Cut Out sheet and that sparked my banner idea! The large bird cages also hint at the banner idea!

 Bo Bunny Supplies:
Double Dot: Coffee Flourish
Patterned Paper: Maree, Jamayka, Allie, Cut Outs/ Little Miss
Stickers: Sweet Girl Cardstock Sticker
Jewels: Little Miss
Ribbon: Double Dot

My Guys

 Bo Bunny Supplies:

Stickers: Combo Stickers Hello Sunshine
Jewels: Hello Sunshine
Trinkets: Hello Sunshine
6 x 6 paperpad: Hello Sunshine

Adam's Room Banner
by Julie Wolek-Tucker

Designer Tip: The great thing about making a banner is you have room to add anything you want! At each end of my banner, I had room to add the trees I cut out of the 12x12 Camp-A-Lot sheet

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Camp-A-Lot Mini Album
Camp-A-Lot Combo Stickers
Camp-A-Lot Dimensional Stickers
Camp-A-Lot Chipboard
Camp-A-Lot
Camp-A-Lot Cutouts
Camp-A-Lot Rub Ons

Alrighty then.... I "BAN" each of you to your scrap room until you
come out with a fabulous banner project.  Make sure you share it with us on facebook.

A little PINspiration

For all of us 'pin' addicts...
today's layouts were inspired by this pin..

Two reasons I picked this picture
1) It's just fun
2) I love farkle  (anyone else?)

 These layouts are sooo great!
They are going to pinspire you to make fun things!

You Color My World
Juliana Michaels

Juliana says, "I was most definitely inspired by the bright bold colors framing the black and white in the center. I choose to use a black and white photograph, stickers, noteworthy and background paper to offset the bright colors and to represent the white in the center of the image. I then cut rectangles from various Bo Bunny Dot papers, rounded the corners and placed them on the background paper to mimic the colored groupings. I then centered my photo and added the title, stickers and buttons."

 Bo Bunny Supplies:
Cardstock: Double Dot in Buttercup, Licorice, Sugar and Grape; Vintage Dot in Orange Citrus; Dot Stripe in Blueberry and Passion Fruit; Dot Journal in Kiwi and Dot Flourish in Wild Berry
Noteworthy: Enchanted
Stickers: Enchanted
Buttons: Various older Bo Bunny Buttons

I love the way this layout shows off the Double Dot papers!  They are such a staple at my house.
Have you guys used DD papers? Yes? No?

Sweet taste of Summer
by: Julie Wolek-Tucker

Julie says: "I was inspired by the colors and all the square elements in the photo -- and I decided to make a lot of different squares using the Hello Sunshine collection, and create a frame around my photo!"

"Cardstock stickers can make a perfect frame for your photos! You can use them to highlight the part of the photo you really want to concentrate on!"

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Paper: Hello Sunshine, Breezy, Sweet Pea, 6x6 pad
Stickers: Hello Sunshine, Dimensional
Rub ons: Hello Sunshine
Noteworthy: Hello Sunshine

I love how Julie left random spaces in the squares to mimic the dice.
I will definitely be trying this technique.

A year in the Life
Robbie Herring
Robbie says: "I was inspired by the squares and by the dice. To me, the dice look like a whole sea of polka dots! For my layout I incorporated a lot of squares with the pictures and added 3 different polka dot ribbons."
and then she gave this great tip...
"When using lots of small photos, consider printing them as a contact sheet. I also named my pictures by the month they were taken and added that to the contact sheet."
(That's brilliant and I never would have thought of it)

Bo Bunny Suppies:
Patterned Paper: Little Miss Hannah and Little Miss Gracie
Stickers: Little Miss Combo, Garden of Friends and Sweet Girl
Brads: Little Miss
Petals: Little Miss
Double Dot Paper: TuTu Dot and Chocolate Dot
Double Dot Ribbon: Chocolate and Kiwi

 Top of the World
Tara Orr

Tara said, "I was completely inspired by the bright colours of this PIN as it reminded me of a rainbow. I wanted to do something that incorporated a happy, summery feel to it so I decided to scrap this photo of my daughter and husband in our backyard a few weeks back."

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Hello Sunshine, Breezy, Cut Outs/Hello Sunshine

Fly a kite
by Mireille Divjak

Cardstock: Ocean Dot

I also hand cut from my papers to make my own embellishments (bottom border and banner). "

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Stripe, Busy Bee, Cut Outs, Hello Sunshine/ Hello Sunshine
Stickers: Lazy Days,, Dimensional/ Hello Sunshine

I ♥ Fussy Cutting.....

I really do love to fussy cut... I think it's relaxing and fun to do.
I usually save up my fussy cutting jobs in a file folder and keep them with me,
so when I'm waiting at the doctor's office, or sitting in the car waiting for the
school bell to ring, I oolways have something to do.

Not to mention... it just looks AWESOME!
Check out what the girls have done today...

Dance With Me
by Debbie Sherman

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Serenity,Serenity Love,Serenity Blossoms
Stickers: Serenity Dimensional Stickers, Serenity Combo Stickers
Noteworthy: Serenity
Jewels: Serenity
Rub-ons: Serenity
Chipboard: Serenity Layered Chipboard

Designer Tips:
One of my favorite techniques is to use coordinating patterned papers to embellish my page. I like papers with larger patterns on them.
Find the patterns you want to use and cut out around them, for tight areas use your craft knife.
I like to add stickles to the edges of my fussy cut embellishment, not only does it make it sparkle but it covers up any imperfections in your cutting.
Make your fussy cut embellishments pop off the page with foam squares..it will give your layout dimension and you can layer your patterns this way, tuck flowers or journaling tags under them.

2 seconds, 4 poses, 1 cutie!

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Hello Sunshine, Picnic
 Sweetness, Busy Bee
Stickers: Hello Sunshine Combo
Chipboard: Hello Sunshine
Noteworthy: Hello Sunshine

Designer tip -- I know that some crafters look at a piece of pattern paper and think, "What am I going to do with that pattern?" -- My answer to that is -- "Cut it up!" I love to do fussy cutting, one sheet of paper can be used for most of your embellishments!! For my layout I only used 3 sheets of 12x12 paper, 3 pieces of chipboard flowers, one journal card from the Noteworthy collection and 3 numbers from the combo sticker pack -- and that's it! And I still have left overs from the papers that I cut the flowers from to use on another project! And my layout looks nice and full, and I barely used any supplies! Fussy cutting is a GREAT way to create your own embellishments! Have fun with it!!

Live your dream
by Jolanda Meurs

Bo Bunny Supplies:

Patterned Paper: Little Miss,Jaquoya, Brenna
Cardstock: Coffee, Coral, Clover Dot
Jewels: Little Miss
Petals: Littler Miss

Dimentional Stickers: Little Miss

Designers tip: Make the petals wet and wrinkled them to small clots. When they are dry open the clots and make layers. Finally press a brad trought the middle. Use some glitter on the petals.

AND THEN....
Check out this masterpiece made by:
 Lily Tasman
My Scrapbook Ideas- Indonesia-design team member
Here's a little note from Lily...
Hi..My name is Lily Tasman, I came from Indonesia. I started scrapbooking on January 2012 and a month afterwards, I was asked by Mrs. Grace and Mrs. Regina to come and join MSI (My Scrapbook Ideas) design team, the first ever scrapbook store in Bandung City, my hometown.

I enjoy working on projects and prefer to work on a bigger media such as Album and Canvas - the bigger the media the more exciting the project is. The bigger the media the more for me to express endless imagination. Oh it’s so much fun to think of it!

Where do all those inspirations come from? Hmmm…. to be completely honest I was letting myself flow doing it, I would bring those papers and its embellishments everywhere I go and in my free spare time, i would open and see them, and inspirations would come to me suddenly. When I was looking at Little Miss papers, all of a sudden, an imaginary window appeared on my mind and when I saw lines paper, a canopy appeared. So when I was asked where did all those inspirations come from? I would say they are from those papers and embellishments themselves. It really is a pleasant and enjoyable moment over the process of Little Miss project. I hope you would also have inspirations when you see this project. God Bless you.

Amazing, right?
So, the moral of this story is...
don't be afraid to do a little fussy cutting.
You might just like it!!!

Layouts in under an hour??? Are you outta your mind???

Nope!
One of the excuses we hear most often around here is...
"I don't have enough time...."

So today our FABU design team has shown us some great examples
on creating fabulous layouts in under an hour.

Sweet Taste of Summer
by Mireille Divjak

Mireille tells us:
"Sometimes you have a picture that says more then a thousand words and the most perfect quotes to go with it. I knew right away with this photo that I would love to keep it clean and simple. I love the print on the patterned paper which didn't need much more than a sticker with the perfect quote and a few embellishments.. I love it when in our busy lives we can create something beautiful without spending too much time."

Bo Bunny Supplies used:
Patterned Paper: Sweet Pea, Hello Sunshine/ Hello Sunshine!!
Petals: Hello Sunshine!
Cardstock Stickers: Hello Sunshine!
Combo STickers: Hello Sunshine!
Chipboard: Hello Sunshine!
brads: Hello Sunshine!
jewels: Hello Sunshine!
rubons: Hello Sunshine!

Then Sam suggests: "Don't be afraid to mix and match the Bo Bunny Collections. You'll be amazed how well many of them co-ordinate! When you think of the older Barefoot and Bliss collection you don't automatically think to match it with On the Go but their colours work well together! So go ahead, I challenge you to mix your collections!"

SPLASH and Gear up for fun
By Samantha Wright

Bo Bunny Supplies used:
Double Dot: Burnt Orange Vintage
Patterned Paper: On the Go, Roads, Scooter, Cut Outs/ On the Go
Chipboard: Barefoot and Bliss 12"
Stickers: Dimensional stickers, Combo Stickers/Barefoot and Bliss
Noteworthy: Barefoot and Bliss

And I'm going to TOTES agree with Julie when she says:
"When making layouts in under an hour - using Bo Bunny's noteworthy packs help make that happen! They are a quick and easy embellishment to add to your pages, and they are gorgeous to boot!! As you can see in my closeup on my layout, you can see three teacups 'stacked' on top of each other -- those are all included in the Noteworthy package!"

"Beauty"
by: Julie Tucker-Wolek

Bo Bunny Supplies used:

Patterned Paper: Miss Lizzie, Little Miss, 6x6 pad
Stickers: Combo Stickers/Little Miss
Noteworthy: Little Miss

Julie also gives an excellent reminder: "I love making layouts in under an hour! Most of my layouts take about 30-40 minutes (this one took about 35 minutes) -- and my secret in getting this accomplished is I no longer over think my pages! I used to place the paper here, the paper there, move it here, move it there, pick up that embellishment, move it here, move it there and so on!! Well, then I started thinking about it -- why do I scrapbook? So that everyone can tell me that the paper I placed a certain way looks fabulous?? No! I scrapbook to carry on my family legacy! I scrapbook to give my kids a glimpse to their past! So then I stopped stressing about where every paper and embellishment went, and just started making my pages without over thinking!  So, now all my layouts get done in no time! Just have fun!"
